Kool Smiles of Decatur
I have been seeing the ortho team for more than 2 years nowand I can honestly say they are the best team for the job! They treat patients like family, they always greet me with a smile, and they never forget my name.Dr. Stewart, Erika, Maria, Troy, Angela, Shenita, & Shaundrell. They are all kind and they always smiling. They always make sure I'm comfortable, and they keep me updated on what's going on inside my mouth, and what needs to be done for my next visit. All you feel is positive energy when you go here, because everything just flows so well together personality wise and business wise.So happy I got my braces and they are the ones to work on them.I don't think it would have been possible for me to have a better experience than this.

My experience @ Kool Smilez on Cander Road in Decatur GA was horrible!! The supervisor "Toy" who wouldn't give me her real name stated that I couldn't go to with back with my 6 yr old daughter who was getting surgery bc i had two disable children with me at my time of visit. Stating "I need to go find a babysitter for all my kids." She's was very unprofessional and out of line. She needs to be repremanded. She has no kind of sympathe with me being a single parent. And not to mention we've coming to that location for 3 years. Probably time to switch dentistry's. I will be filling discrimation charges as well.

Ray Davis DDS
My daughter was born with two teeth, so we've seen Dr Davis since she was six months old. Now she is 10 and has no fear of the dentist at all. She actually enjoys going to get her teeth clean. It's totally old school, no TV's, no video games, all the dental chairs all in one room and are custom sized for children. The hygienists really talks to my child and creates a relaxing and fun trip to the dentist. The front office staff makes it really easy to schedule appointments and I've never had problems with billing my insurance. He's the best!

I had a great experience with this amazing Kool Smiles. Staff was great! However I do have a concern. All children love to play in the play room. They have so much fun that after playtime their so thirsty. This particular clinic had a out of order water fountain. I strongly suggest for the clinic to get some cheap 4 oz water bottle for our thirsty children. Some family use faucet water. So please be free in giving something to drink. That was the only thing I had an issue with. Hopefully within six moth the water fountain will be repaired.

Dr. Stewart and Brittany are hands down two of the best sets of customer service I have gotten in a long time. My daughter got a braces consultation and it was so pleasurable that we didn't even want to leave. The staff is kind and friendly and Brittany always remembers my daughter and is always going completely out of her way to make is comfortable. Kool smiles these two have helped take your customer service rating to a new level. I am thankful that now my daughter will look forward to coming to the dentist.

Roberts Family Dental
My experience at this establishment was 5 star. I was treated with the utmost respect. the hygienist and the dentist were very thorough on explaining what procedures that were needed to make my smile better. I especially liked the office manager Leslie Jackson. She made me feel comfortable coming to the dentist. She went beyond her call of duty to make me feel wanted. I really appreciated that. She's definitely a class act.

i actually really enjoy going to see this dentist; he's a hoot. He's a good dentist as well. My neighbors used to like him when he had his office in downtown Atlanta, and he was really well known as being a great dentist and good person. I've only been to the South DeKalb office once, but they seemed to be taking on his personality, getting along, and definitely did a good job on my teeth.

W Jernigan Ben Jr DMD
My family and extended family have all been going to Dr. Jernigan for many years. He and his staff are always professional and gentle. Even my kids don't mind going to the dentist! I've found that Dr. Jernigan only recommends works that is critical. Other dentists I've seen in the past want to do every little thing for big bucks, but Dr. Jernigan always has the patient's best interest in mind.

Dr. Jocelyn P. Spaulding Dentistry
I have a fear of dentists and had put off going to to see one for years when I moved from out of state. When I made my appointment with the office, the staff and Dr. Spaulding were welcoming and understanding and made me feel extremely comfortable. As for Missy to be your hygenist. She is awesome and knowledgable about what she does.

Tips & Advices
The most common dental problems in children are:
  • Cavities
  • Bad breath
  • Gum disease
  • Sensitive teeth
  • Grinding
  • Canker sores
  • Missing teeth
  • Extra teeth
  • Bite and alignment issues
Thumb sucking is not specifically a dental problem, but it can cause a malocclusion, a condition where the top and bottom teeth don't line up correctly.
To clean a baby's teeth, use a small, soft-bristled toothbrush designed specifically for infants. Apply a tiny amount of non-fluoride toothpaste - about the size of a grain of rice - and gently brush all sides of the teeth and the tongue. Before the baby's first teeth emerge, use gauze or a wet washcloth wrapped around the finger to wipe the gums. This motion doesn't necessarily reduce bacteria, but it does help the infant to get used to the sensation of having his or her teeth cleaned.
Children should visit their pediatric dentist every six months. This recommended frequency does not change throughout a person's lifetime.
No, wisdom teeth do not need to be removed unless they cause pain, lead to dental issues, or are aligned incorrectly.
Yes, dental sealants prevent cavities by filling in deep grooves in the teeth. Without them, bacteria can collect in these areas and cause tooth decay, which can happen with children.
