Edwards Plumbing & Heating
I scheduled an appointment for a Friday and they agreed to come before 4:00 pm, they did not arrive by time. I contacted them and they said " you are our next stop". They never showed up. I called the next day and they did come to my home but they did not finish the job. They had to come back again on Sunday- Easter Sunday of all days to complete the work. I was disappointed with their lack of concern of my time. I would not recommend this plumber to anyone.

Horrible scheduling, customer service, and management. I scheduled an appointment for an estimate on a Thursday afternoon between 1-3pm. The Edwards technician never came (I took the afternoon off from work). I called, they apologized and scheduled an appointment for the same day and time the next week. Once again: no technician came to my house. They called me and claimed that the technician's truck broke down. Then the next person I talked to said that the technician was on an "emergency job." I was justifiably disappointed and complained to the manager that I wasted 2 afternoons waiting for them to send a technician. And I was disappointed that someone was obviously lying to me. The manager responded by yelling several horrible vulgar words at me (the f-word). I will never again even think about doing business with this company... The managers are horrible, unprofessional, and have no class. And the people who schedule appointments are incompetent. A company that insults you and does not care about customer service does not deserve your money.

My experience is very unique.... That started in a very professional manner, asking what was the issue, I explain how we have water backed up in our basement and the smell was unbearable! They came out within 24hrs and took pictures to show us our issue, he gave us a price range. He asked if we had insurance and jacked the price of the job 5, 000 more! He claim that was because it was more than what they estimated to be. They verified with us to make sure we had insurance, yet they hounded my husband and demanded if we want them to get started to write a personal check for the entire amount., but the new insurance company were going to pay for the work. In our basement Is dust, contamination, rocks, old pipes they won't remove and they have our checks, but they not gonna clean up there mess, strike 5...... Bad business all around!!!! Shyster 'S!!!!! To say the least....their money hungry, don't fall for it!!!

By chance called Plumb o Matic primarily because of these ratings, for a sanitary line (iron ones) that had sprung a leak. I called, they came out same day, gave me the prices for the work depending on how involved it was going to be (indeterminable before starting the job). They worked fast, were very polite, explained all they were doing and cleaned up after themselves. The price was fair I thought. I would happily recommend them to anyone. Thanks!

Tips & Advices
  • Are you licensed and registered?
  • Are you insured and bonded?
  • How many years have you been in business?
  • What, if any, professional associations do you belong to?
  • May I have a list of references?
  • Do you offer a written warranty for your work?
  • Will I need a permit for this work?
  • Don't use your toilet or kitchen sink like a trash can by stuffing hard to flush material down the drain or pouring fats and oils down the pipe.
  • Throw coffee grounds and eggshells in the garbage instead of in your sink.
  • Only use your toilet to flush human waste and toilet paper
  • Before calling a plumber, try to unclog your drains and toilets yourself by using a plunger.
  • Make sure you use a standard bell-shaped plunger for your sink and shower drains and a plunger with a flanged end for your toilets.
  • If neither type can loosen the pipe blockage, put a plumber's snake to use.
  • Ratchet the snake down the pipe to eliminate any clogs.
  • Be mindful of how much water you use in your bathroom, kitchen and even outdoors when watering your lawn.
  • Make sure your toilet handle works properly and doesn't stick.
  • Replace old shower heads with more efficient low-flow options that can cut down on the gallons of water you use each morning.
  • Turning off the water while you brush your teeth
  • Only running your dishwasher or clothes washer when you have a full load.
To keep yourself safe from fraud or a possible scam, always remember to ask plumbers for their license along with a written warranty for their labor. Besides this, further safeguard yourself by checking their references and ensure they or their company is insured and bonded to do their work.
