Dr. Alfred M Faulkner, DO
Dr Faulkner and his group are the most compationate physicians I have been to. The first time we saw Dr Faulkner was for my sons surgery. He injured his leg in a motorcycle accident. He is now walking and completely recovered. He then took care of my dislocated shoulder and my husbands hip. He takes care of our entire family. My husband has special needs because of all his medical problems and this Dr. makes sure all is considered. I love him like family. One of the Best doctors I have been to and would recommend him to anyone of my friends or family.I have also seen Dr Seigle for my knees. Wonderful I would trust any doctor in this Waterworks Ortho group

Dr. Nilesh M. Patel
Initially I came to see Dr. Patel for severe pain in my buttocks, legs and feet. I was also experiencing numbness in the same areas. Dr. Patel proposed fusion of L3,4 and 5. I had tried steroid shots, physical therapy and chiropractic, all produced short term or no relief. The day after surgery the pain was gone. I could not be happier with the work Dr. Patel performed.

If the doctor is running behind by an hour or more you should have staff contact he patient and let them know. Secondly... have a Doctor call in as a patient and review your voicemail options. To confirm my appointment time it took 90 seconds... 1 and 1/2 minutes just to reach the dial 7 option. that is to long. Otherwise my options are all very positive.

Precise, prompt and satisfied. Dr. Patel explained the procedure and took the time to answer all my questions. I would highly recommend Nilesh Patel if you need surgery. My pain was relieved almost immediately, with only the tenderness of surgery following. Not bad at all, in fact I would say ' a piece of cake' surgery.

Dr. Nilesh M. Patel
From the moment I was seen, I was taken care of. They looked at the MRI information that I was able to provide, and took action right away. Dr. Patel suggested surgery in my case, and did the surgery the very next week. The recovery time so far was everything that he told me it would be.

The only problem i have with this office over the years i have been coming is the length of time to get in and out is a little lengthy for me. I guess because when i come here i am in pain and do not want to be here sitting and waiting. Otherwise everyone has been great!

The fear and the trauma of breaking my leg was alleviated by Dr. Patel's on call presence at Oakwood. The entire staff at Oakwood was excellent. Dr. Patel and his surgical staff explained each step of the process very thoroughly. I knew what to expect post surgery.

He reassured me throughout the whole process. From day one everything was completely explained and when a complication occurred he acted immediately. Everyone who works in his offices - both and the center were always great. I would definitely recommend Dr. Patel.

Before coming to see Dr. Patel I was lost and had no idea if I would ever get better but thanks to him and his staff I can run and lift weights again. Most importantly I am able to be a father again. From the bottom of my heart I thank you all.
Tips & Advices
Scoliosis is a disorder where the spine curves sideways. Most people develop the condition during the growth spurt before puberty. The cause of scoliosis is unknown and most cases are mild, but the rare severe instances can disable a person.
Orthopedic surgeons attend four years of medical school, then four to five years of orthopedic residency in a hospital. They must also be licensed and certified in orthopedic surgery by the state in which they practice.
The terms "orthopedic doctor" and "orthopedic surgeon" refer to the same profession. Related specialties include podiatrist, a doctor who works with the bones, tendons and ligaments in the feet, and a sports medicine physician, a doctor specially trained to treat athletes.
The cost of a visit to an orthopedic surgeon depends on the type of tests ordered and treatment given. For example, an MRI costs $500-$1,300. An initial consultation costs $100- $500, while anesthesia for a procedure generally ranges from $2,000-$4,000. Overall, an orthopedic surgery can cost anywhere from $15,000 to $30,000.
During a consultation or first appointment with an orthopedic surgeon, the practitioner will ask the patient a variety of questions to understand the situation. The surgeon might ask about the patient's pain levels, medical history, and any prior injuries. Then, the surgeon will administer a physical exam and possibly schedule tests to better understand the problem. Possible tests include a stress test, x-ray, or MRI.
