British American Auto Repair
I give Michael my highest recommendation without reservation! I have been a customer for over a year, and my older car has needed much TLC. Having needed another recent repair, there aren't adequate words to express my gratitude to Michael for his true concern about my situation, and the care he takes in diagnosing and fixing the problem. I've never known a mechanic so meticulous, who goes to such great lengths to ensure I understand the problem, who is also extremely sensitive to my need to have my car back as soon as possible, and who also keeps costs at a minimum *without* compromising quality and safety, his foremost concern. I've owned cars for decades, and have had experience with many mechanics over time, and have never encountered one with such integrity, honesty, and quality of service. You will never have to worry about entrusting your car to Michael and his excellent team.

I broke down a few weeks back, being new to the area I didnt know who to call. all my family is still up north, I am a student down here, so budget is tight. I used my smart phone to find towing in Daytona, they made it there in decent time and recommended their shop. It was after 6pm, so he dropped off my car & was nice enough to give me a ride back to campus. The service tech called me the next morning to let me know what was wrong with my car,, how much it would cost to repair & how long. I called the dealer ship to check pricing and the dealership was outrageous! Arrow got my fixed up and running the same day. When it finished they were again, able to pick me up from school. They even kept the broken parts to show me what had gone wrong. I can't thank them enough for being so fairly priced and helpful. I now know where I can take my car & feel safe in Daytona!

On September 7th, 2015 my 2010 Toyota Rav 4 needed to be towed to Jacksonville from Daytona. However my wife and myself and our GREAT DANE," Deezal", needed a ride to Jacksonville as well!! Arrow Wrecker Service was called and the driver arrived in less than an hour , and this was a holiday!! The driver, "Brandon", he showed up was completely comfortable with the whole issue, loaded up our car, us,and Deezal (stayed in the Rav 4)!! We talked and we laughed and actually had a very pleasant ride back home. The situation seemed very bad to me at the time , however when Brandon showed up took care of business, everything seemed to appear OK! I am very pleased with the service of Arrow Wrecker Service, would recommend them to anyone. And I hope if they read this and call that they get "Brandon" to tow their vehicle.Paul M. Love Michael and his sons. Always happy to help and take the extra time to give my car the once over for possible issues I may not know about. I moved here three years ago after having the same mechanic where I came from for 20 plus years. I was concerned about finding someone I could trust who would give me the straight information and not try to "upsell" me. I found it in Michael's British American. It ain't fancy, but I'm far more interested in honest, friendly service than I am in any cushy waiting room! I have a 6 year old vehicle that I know I can keep on the road for a long time to come with these folks looking out for me. Two thumbs all the way up!

Thanks Mike and sons for the great experience. From the moment I walked into your shop I knew I was in the right placed as I was pleasantly greeted as soon as I walked into the repair shop. I'm so relieved to finally to finally find an independent repair shop with your courteous and professional service. Your communication and knowledge were terrific as well. My car is a Nissan Altima which I've owned for nine years. Mike and his sons were able to diagnose, repair and advise of future needed repair, in detail, to keep my car in fine working shape. Thanks again Mike and sons, you were great!

Four Boys Tire & Service
We have taken all of our cars here anytime they have been in need of repair and have always found it to be a fair price and great service. They have an estimate ready for you within a few hours and for the others here if you find that too expensive take your car elsewhere. We have had a clutch replaced, tensioner pulley, and some other work done always to our satisfaction. My wife's dad is an ASE mechanic (in NH) and he is the one who recommended them and he has looked over every quote for labor and parts and has always told us they were reasonable.

Mark Odoski Mobile Auto Repairs
If you are looking for an honest and reasonably priced place to get your car worked on, don't hesitate to use this shop. I know others who would concur. Mark and his wife are people who will treat you fairly and honestly. They will not try to tell you that something needs to be done unless it really does. And if you do need work on your auto, the price will allow you to hold on to your car years longer than you thought. Just great in every way!

George has fixed my car mulitple times. The first time, he repaired my clutch and really helped me out while I was in a bind. He's also taken a look at my transmission for me and gave me honest advice. I would trust these guys to work on any vehicle at any time, and I would highly recommend British American Auto Repair to anyone in Daytona Beach. Make sure you call George & Peggy for any auto repair needs!!!
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
