Sizemore's Lock & Key Mobile Service
I recommend Sizemore´s Lock & Key Service. I have called them a couple of times and they have responded immediately (within the hour). Very professional, gets the job done and reasonably priced.

Gem City Key Shop Inc
I have had duplicate keys made here for years. Today I stopped by for help with my car door lock. It was sticking. I had used some WD 40 and the plastic spray nozzle had sheared off in the lock. They were able to remove the bit of plastic in a couple minutes and refused to take anything for the service. Such service will be rewarded with this review AND my returning for future lock smith services.

A1 Key Masters
my 03 accord ignition is sticking and hard to turn key in ignition. After calling 2 other locksmiths to correct this issue I finally Called A1 who states that they offer 24/7 service & meet you in 30 min. They also claim they are equipped to handle all issues. They asked me to reschedule because the tech was "too busy" the day I requested service. I called back the next day & wanted to confirm that the ignition in my car and my "high security key" would not be an issue. The lady I spoke with reassured me that that WOULDNT be an issue. I was told that a tech would call in 5-10 minutes. After 30 min & no call from the tech, I called back stating I never received a call from the tech. The young man then stated that according to the notes in the system, they don't have a tech that can do the job. I was frustrated because they should have called me stating that information. His only response was I don't know why they didn't call you but you didn't speak to me the first time.

Top Locksmith Guys
Miserable customer service. They had a hard time taking my information over the phone. Dispatcher sounded uninterested in my business. Received call back from technician, that I could not understand. Website said 20 min response time. Technician indicated it would be an hour. Generally bad feeling about these guys, i passed and found another company

My grandmother was trying to get into some old files that she had stored away and realized that she no longer had the key to the file cabinet! After looked absolutely everywhere we decided to sit down and call a locksmith to come get it open. This service showed up just in time and did great work without damaging the cabinet! They saved the day!

I set an appointment with A1 Key Masters to have my locks re-keyed. Their schedule was flexible and the technician who came out for the service was fast and professional. Even give me added service as the staff adjusted the keys for me at no cost, which was a nice gesture. Thanks!

I stepped outside to take the trash out and I locked the door behind me out of instinct. Luckily I had my phone in my pocket or else I would have had to ask my neighbors to use their phone! I looked up locksmiths in this area and I found this place as the best in town. I gave them a call and they showed up in 20 minutes! No time at all! Thanks!

No such address. It must be someone working out of vehicle
Tips & Advices
Locksmiths-in-training can receive foundational knowledge and skills through programs offered at technical colleges or vocational schools. These would include basic courses on lock mechanics and manipulation, along with general skills like business management. From there, most trainees seek an apprenticeship, where they work alongside a professional locksmith. This allows them to gain experience in the field. It can also put them on a course toward certification.
Upon arrival to your home, a locksmith should ask you to prove that it is in fact your residence. They should also be able to unlock most common locks without requiring them to be drilled or completely replaced. Be sure to obtain an invoice that lists all charges before agreeing to pay.
  • If possible, research local locksmiths online and take note of any that have poor reviews or complaints.
  • When calling a locksmith, confirm their address matches what you found online or in a directory. Then ask for a cost estimate for the service you need, and ask to have them bring a written copy of this estimate.
  • Some states require locksmiths to be licensed. If your state is one of them, require the locksmith to bring proof of registration when they arrive.
The term locksmith traditionally referred to people who designed and built locks, but today is generally used for those who repair and replace locks. Locksmiths can be available on-call to help people if they're locked out of their home or apartment.
  • First, determine the type of lock you have, as well as the manufacturer or model if possible. You should also obtain measurements of your door and frame.
  • Remove exterior and interior knobs by unscrewing any visible screws you find. Many knobs will include a decorative cover on the interior side that can be removed.
  • Once you've removed the entire lock, find the screws on the inside of the door frame to remove the latch or deadbolt.
  • With everything removed, repeat these steps in reverse order to install the new lock.
