I have dealt with Evan's Motorworks twice within the last year and have been more than pleased with their professional and friendly way of doing business. Whether it's a person working at the front door or a technician walking by, you will receive a smile and a friendly hello.My BMW that I had purchased at another used car dealer of "national" scale had not been fixed properly at "their" other service center. In all honesty, I had received bad customer service, a faulty repairs, and dishonest communication at this other dealer. I had received an oil change at Evan's months prior and had great service. I knew that that was where I would need to go to get this unfixed problem addressed. Scott, one of the serves advisors, listened to my concerns, took my typed up list explaining the problem, provided me a loaner and honored that I did not want to deal with the other establishment any longer. The "unnamed" other dealership had my car for a week and was unable to fix the right problem.Within hours of my appointment with Evan's Motorworks I received a call that the problem had been identified. They had fixed the issue and Scott communicated the bad experience I had to the warranty group I had coverage with and had them cover the cost without another deductible on my end!Evan's Motorworks was able to take an existing problem with another business and turn it into a fantastic experience at theirs! I will be purchasing my next vehicle from them and wish I had initially.They treated me like I bought my car at their dealership, even though I had not. Topnotch Service!
I have had nothing but positive experiences at both Jason Hensley Goodyear stores, although I most often frequent the one on Salem and Otterbein. Two years ago the cover on my catalytic converter came off while I was traveling in Virginia. I took my van to a shop there and was told it would be $1500 to replace my exhaust system, and that was the only solution. I persuaded them to patch it until I could get home. Shortly after I got home, my van started losing power and got loud. I made an appointment and took it to Goodyear, expecting to spend at least $1500. Want to guess what I actually paid? $110. And that was after I told the owner I expected to pay $1500. He could have sold me an entire exhaust system and I would never have known the difference.Today I went in for a new muffler. The estimate was around $250 for just the muffler or $400 for the entire system, depending on how much rust was under there. My van is a 2002 with over 150,000 miles on it. I wasn't surprised it needed some TLC. What did surprise me was that Mike and Darrell decided they the muffler was in pretty good condition and they could patch it instead. If the patch holds, I'll be good for a couple of years. If it doesn't hold, they'll deduct the cost of the patch and replace the muffler like we originally expected. Today instead of $250, I paid $62.I have several more stories about expecting to spend more and walking away having spent much less at Jason's stores. These guys give honest, friendly, competent service. I wouldn't take my elderly van any place else.
My initial contact was with Matt Karns, Internet Sales Manager. He was very responsive and helpful online. Upon arrival, he referred me to Mike Holbrook, Sales Consultant. He was very patient and understanding. During our time at the pre-owned store, my companion and I were repeatedly offered water and/or soft drinks while we were waiting for document preparation and vehicle preparation. As I was preparing to get into the pre-owned Lexus i bought and it drive away, I noticed that even though my companion had the radio on, the power antenna was not up more than an inch or two.The dealership owner, John Higgins, was standing right there and acknowledged that the antenna drive ribbon was broken. He had me follow him to the new car sales/service location, where he instructed the staff to replace the broken part immediately. While my companion and I waited, we were again asked a few times if we needed anything or wanted beverages. When my companion joked that he wanted a rum and coke, we were given helpful driving directions to a good nearby eatery and tavern that would be on our way home (a four hour drive). At both locations, everybody with whom we had contact was professional and courteous. I saw none of behavior that seems commonplace at auto sales facilities -- men standing around, right outside the door, smoking cigarettes. The facilities at both Lexus of Dayton locations were top notch -- to the extent that I regret residing too far away to make L.O.D. my primary place for maintenance.
I can't say enough about these guys. I've been to 3 different shops, and they all told me my temperature sensor was bad. I had one shop replace the sensor, and still an engine light! So I tried All Tune and Lube, based on a friend's recommendation. Brad looked at my car and told me the sensor wasn't the problem. I asked him why, because the code was for the temperature sensor. That's when he explained "cause and effect." lol He took the time to explain to me that just because a code is thrown, it doesn't mean the sensor is bad... it just means the sensor is probably doing it's job alerting of another problem. In short... it was a leaking thermostat, that he said was allowing cold antifreeze to get into my motor at warmup. I'm not sure what all that means, but all I know is NO MORE ENGINE LIGHT!! Brad is right, there are many "parts changers," and there are very few true "Troubleshooters," who fix the problem and not just change the broken part. Had I brought it to them first, I could have saved a ton... replacing the thermostat was MUCH cheaper than replacing the sensor... that didn't need replaced in the first place. I highly recommend these guys... Brad has really earned my trust, and that's hard to do. Doesn't hurt that their prices are a RELIEF compared to others. They are very sweet people.
When looking for a new car the VW Beetle sparked our interest. As we were driving into white Allen Euro my husband asked me, "are you sure we are in the right place?" The high end European profit nance vehicles were screaming $$$ as we pulled in. We took a chance and were very glad we did. Randy was very accomodating! Took the time to answer every question I had and to show us different models. The next day we purchased our Beetle. Financing was easy, price was 4000 less then the other dealers we checked. Randy even took the time to go over everything on the car and hooked my phone to Bluetooth before leaving. This dealership is what car dealers should be. Its interesting that you say lemon cars when you bought a used car, why did you not follow the buyer beware process and check out the car before you bought it. I have bought from them and I have had no problems. I took my mechanic with me to check out the car, which they allow you to do; so if you did not check the car before you bought it then that's on you, you were buying a USED car, No one can force you into anything, you have to make that decision on your own, everyone as a CHOICE! Any used car you buy you buy it as is. You signed it, so don't be disgruntled because you did not do your homework before you purchased. They were helpful and kind. The owner helped me and listened and they did not over charge me as some of the other dealers I went to before going to them tried to do.
Spoke with several dealerships when I recently decided to purchase a new vehicle. While I did come across some other companies offering good deals, once I spoke with Theo Dorian at Evans Motorworks, I knew that this would be who I would be doing business with. He was very informative, and willing to provide as many options as possible when it came to finding a vehicle that was in my budget. To top everything off, once I made my selection, he personally drove the vehicle to me (over an hour away), and we filled out the paper work at my residence. I took my car into three brothers on East 3rd Street I talk to a redheaded mechanic's name Jeff man was very friendly very knowledgeable he even helped with a little bit of extra on the side with parts he's a very reasonable man he's very good at what he does their toll selection is awesome for just a mechanic he is a very good mechanic very knowledgeable very friendly and doesn't have a problem with speaking to you he'll explain things to you to the best way that he can he doesn't make it confusing you have got to go there great customer service make sure to ask for Jeff
This shop is absolutely wonderful and the mechanics definitely know what they are doing. I had multiple unnecessary repairs at other shops before being referred to ATL. ATL properly diagnosed my car and saved me from many more unnecessary repairs. I get all of my service there now, and they work on foreign cars for way less than the dealerships. They are also conveniently downtown, and I can leave my car during the day and pick it up after work. Refer your family and friends, they are the best!!
