RJ Mexican Cuisine: Great Seafood - Steaks - Chicken - RibsDallas, TX Review Date: 08/27/2008 OH My Goodness... I wasn't really in the mood for Mexican Food when I walked in there but I kept an open mind and I was blown away. Starting with the hot and spicy salsa...it wasn't enough to drive me away from it but it was enough to make my nose run and want some water. It was delish! I order Tacos and they were wonderful. Although I expected to get a typical taco with meat, cheese, lettuce and so but it came out with just meat and cheese and I was surprised with how much flavor it boasted. It came with a side of refried beans (which I usually hate) but they were also wonderful, slightly creamier than normal but they drew in a wonderful garlic accent with some additional spices I couldn't put my toungue on. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff was wonderful and a delight, RJ even opened the door for us. Even though it was raining, they opened up the patio for us so we could have a drink out there and be able to smoke. I would definately revisit them and I would recommend it to anyone.
Excellent fried chicken which is far superior to the big-name places. They also have tons of things which aren't on the online menu like sandwiches, catfish, fried livers & *corn fritters* which are 2die4 good! BIG portions of side orders like spicy rice (yummy!), fries & mashed potatoes. The only downside is they're often busy and it's not uncommon to wait, but their food is well worth any minimal delay. Actually, I was stunned to see they'd received two such low ratings here, so 4 stars from me is probably more realistic. Still, we've eaten at Williams 10-15 times and barring the occasional wait, I cannot recall EVER being disappointed with the food.
Tried the three-week old restaurant Friday night. The staff was Extremely friendly (is it possible to be Too nice?) We found the decor to be non-existent, aside from pretty wall paint. The salsa was excellent, refried beans and rice forgettable, but the beans in the cup with juice were great. My friend's enchiladas casero were under seasoned, dryish and strange somehow, my grilled chicken with poblanos, onions and cheese was cooked well, but the waiter had to point out where the cheese was on the chicken (not a good place to skimp!) I had to use my glasses. Because it's close, we'll give them another chance to get it right.
I recently tried this new restaurant last week , and it was amazing all of the employees were very friendly and respectful . they give you alot of attention , and treat you like you are at home . It is very clean, new and beautiful . You have a choice to eat outside in the front patio , inside down stairs , inside upstairs or upstairs patio. They have all kinds of amazing food , i had the shrimp cocktail and it was delicious ! My husband had the steak ranchero and said it was the best ! The chips and salsa they serve you is also very good, I recommend this place , it was perfect , go and try it out !
This is a wonderful overall experience, if good food is what you're after. There's not a bad item on the menu. I especially enjoy the beef plate, a generous portion of fajita beef with half a lime and tortillas, rice and beans. The dining room is always clean and pleasant, but more often I take the order home to the family, to share at our own dining table. Pricing is very reasonable, too, so I always feel I get a good value. The kitchen has an open concept, so you can see that it's always clean. The counter staff, and the folks behind them making it happen, are always pleasant and courteous.
