Dee Lincoln mentioned her cajun background, which may explain why the Crispy Oysters were the star of my dining experience along with the Bananas Foster Crumble. I’m impressed with the breading and comfort feeling after taking a bite of the oysters, and the sweetness of the bananas foster transported me to a New Orleans cafe. These items left me wanting more. I think the real lesson here is that if you eat here, the Cajun items are the way to go.Also, the Sushi Pizza intrigued me. The creamy sauce spiked with Sriracha and lots and lots of wasabi tobiko (flying fish roe flavored with Japanese horseradish) onto ahi tuna and tempura rice crust to pull it together. It’s a great starter or snack to enjoy while you dine here.
Excellent fried chicken which is far superior to the big-name places. They also have tons of things which aren't on the online menu like sandwiches, catfish, fried livers & *corn fritters* which are 2die4 good! BIG portions of side orders like spicy rice (yummy!), fries & mashed potatoes. The only downside is they're often busy and it's not uncommon to wait, but their food is well worth any minimal delay. Actually, I was stunned to see they'd received two such low ratings here, so 4 stars from me is probably more realistic. Still, we've eaten at Williams 10-15 times and barring the occasional wait, I cannot recall EVER being disappointed with the food.
First of all Liu's is a Chinese Restaurant, they do not specialize in 'BBQ ribs and Chicken where chicken 'grizzle' would be present. My significant other and I decided to try them today and WHAT A Treat! We liked the food so much we decided to find a "Review Website" and rate them.Maybe just be mindful that english is not their first language. The lady was friendly and diligent so she made it easy to order. The food was well made, Very tasty and better than some of the more expensive Chinese Restaurants we frequent. And, for us, it was take out. It was our first and NOT our last time ordering with Liu's Restaurant!
So I enjoy a good baked potato as much as the next guy and about the only time I have it is usually roped with BBQ chopped beef and sauce. So I figured I'd enjoy this place.Make your own or order from preset options, I got the #4 Creamed Beef on a regular potato (you can get a sweet potato for no extra cost). Assembly is similar to subway/chipotle style, everything Premade is piled on top of the now flattened-in-a-plate baked potato. It was hot and filling. Flavors? Mild is a nice word for it.It was an experience. I probably will not be back though.
The best burger I've ever eaten! The hole in the wall location had a steady line of professionals, blue collar workers and couples the whole time I was there. The set older woman at the register kept up with the orders and was pleasant and efficient. The best thing was the perfectly charred beefy burger, with juiciness on the inside, toasted bun your choice of cheese, and fresh toppings. The fresh cut fries were amazing. The only complaint is the limited hours they are open. I would go twice a week if I could.
I don't know what burger place the other reviewer went to but Better Burger is indeed that. I've been there twice and had take out once. Every time, the meat was flavorful, the condiments fresh and cold(one could tell that even the pickels were sliced fresh) and fries were good. A great choice of burgers, cheese, etc. I live close to lower Greenville and have been going to Snuffer's for over 20 years. Beter Burger is just as good and the price is comparable.
The Vegetarian Soup lacked salt but was otherwise tasty. The beef stew with eggplant was served with saffron rice and a side salad with a delicious yogurt dressing: the rice was, well, rice and the stew was overly salted but had good pieces of beef and the eggplant was not slimy (a great thing).Staff are friendly but they do hover a little too much for my liking.I'm not sure why they are playing nonstop Christmas music though LOL
My wife bought a coupon at restaraunt.com, $25 off on an order of $35 or more. That was our first experience. Our most recent was on Valentines 2013. The food was great, the music was as good as the food. DO NOT PASS UP DESSERT!The dining area is small but doesn't feel cramped. The staff is friendly and VERY professional. It is always full but, with a reservation, I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes.
Not too shabby: they have all the Thai basics you probably enjoy elsewhere but look for the extra menu that has entrees big back in Thailand for something a little different. My lunch companions ordered all the basics: Pad Thai, Red Curry, and what smelled and looked like amazing fried rice dish. I sampled their appetizers for my lunch: Pork Sate, Chicken Balls, and Roti Grill. Pretty darn delicious.
Limited offerings if you want a quick single slice of pizza: disappointing since we came for slices and not pies. Almost left to go to Italia Express who know how to showcase by-the-slice.I got a personal pie instead: the basic pepperoni. The place wasn't busy at all, but it still took 15-minutes for my pie. Taste made up for my disappointments: nice crust, good flavors, piping hot.
