Cowboys Red River
I have been going to Red River in Dallas for a little over a year now. Great place to dance and meet up with friends. The dancers are of all skill levels and they do provide dance lessons on Thursday and Friday nights. My friends and I have generally had a great time on Thursday and Saturday nights. However, for the last two weekends we have encountered a couple of really annoying things. While they do have a great house band, the volume was set so high that it leaves you unable to even have a conversation without yelling. Ears were ringing for the next day! Really...do you think we can't hear it? It was so loud that you had to hold your glass on the table or it shimmied off on to the floor. NO KIDDING! As well, there has been a progression of people bringing drinks on the dance floor and they spill causing potential danger for those that are trying to dance. Let's not forget those who are just standing on the dance floor talking. Seriously, that is what the bar and table area are for. The dance floor is for DANCING!!! It's typically the younger crowd (those under 25) and they do allow minors. However, let's get some help from the bouncers here. When three of my friends/co-dancers told the bouncers, they shrugged it off and said, 'just let us do our jobs' but then did nothing. As there are not many country bars in the Dallas area, you would think they would try harder to make it a more pleasant experience for those who really want to dance.

Draft Picks
Went for all-u-can-eat crawfish. In a nut shell:a) Dishonest management that support false advertising and absolutely will not stand behind their assurances.b) Sloooooow service (took about an hour to get our 1st batch of crawfish).c) Hate to admit it after the horrible service and management, but the crawfish itself was actually pretty good - large, spicy and garlicky.Regarding a), the situation was that I called and was absolutely 100% assured they were running a $12.99 special this Fri, sat and sun but the hostess that answered the phone. I even asked her to double check and she supposedly "went to ask" and came back and said yes, definitely.Yet upon arrival, the management refused to honor it.I even played them the recorded phone conversation from my call (I have a call recorder app on my phone), and they just said sorry, they acknowledge what we were told but NO.While the normal $17.99 price is actually a fair price for the all-u-can-eat, it's a matter of principle and a business standing behind what they promise, and clearly, this place does not have such ethics at all.I only give it a 2 instead of 1 because, again, the crawfish itself, after the aggravation and super slowness, was admittedly good, and I would be lying to say otherwise.Still, be very cautioned about the unscrupulous management. Watch you bill for erroneous add-ons and expect a built in 18% gratuity (perhaps part of the reason for slow service).

The Rustic
Tonight we decided to bring an out of town guest to the Rustic for dinner. There were 5 in our party so they first sat us at an oversized booth. These oversized booths are very uncomfortable for large parties since inevitably someone needs to use the restroom forcing half of the party to be inconvenienced. Whoever created these horseshoe booths is probably crazy. We were then moved to a large table close to a big metal door. This seating arrangement was better except that the table was sticky and there was a severe cold draft blowing in from somewhere. The restaurant was not very busy yet it took over 20 minutes to get someone to take a drink order. We asked for the table to be wiped down but it was so sticky we had to ask them to wipe it again. We finally ordered and received our food but because we had no silverware, we had to wait a few additional minutes. By the time we were able to eat, our entrees were cold - not warm- COLD. The cold food was tasty but I'm sure it would have tasted better Hot or at least warm. Waiting forever to get our drink order and then being served cold food are reason enough to avoid this place. Eat elsewhere and come for the music unless the music is as mediocre as the service. I will never know.

Allgood Cafe
My friend and I wanted to go somewhere new and to a place that was different. All Good Cafe has a very different atmosphere that is eclectic and welcoming. It was avert busy Sunday brunch time but we were seated within 15 minutes. One thing I noticed while waiting to be seated was that many tables were open but there were not enough employees to seat people or clean up tables after a customer left. I order chips/salsa and the migas for my meal. The migas were delivered first, not the chips/salsa which I would expect. The waitress told me she forgot to put in the chips/salsa and apologized. A minute or so later someone else brought me the chips/salsa and he told me I would not have to pay for them and apologized for the mistake. My actual meal was DELICIOUS...the migas were cooked right and the potatoes were amazing. I think they were short staffed on this day, otherwise they would have had better service. I would definitely go back again.

Maggiano's Little Italy
We were in the Dallas area to celebrate our son's arrival home from university and our nephew's graduation from SMU. My husband and I have dined at Maggianos in Las Vegas many times with each time being better than the last. Maggianos at North Park offered exactly the right balance of a special celebratory dinner with a relaxing, "dress casual" experience we had in mind. The restaurant decor is comfortable, the host welcoming, and our waiter made us feel we were the only diners in the restaurant. Portions are generous! The boys ordered Eggplant Parmesan(outstanding), my husband ordered his favorite appetizer, Onion Strings(fabulous)and I ordered the Beef Medallions with Balsamic Cream Sauce(excellent). The restaurant location is easy to find, the parking is ample, and the noise level in the dining room is no distraction. A chain restaurant with a notable, enjoyable and affordable experience each time is the take away.

Eden Pastry & Restaurant
Beautiful and Cozy... This is not a place that will rush to make incredible food... You can tell that everything is scratch made... Yes, everything... If you are looking for quality service, incredible food and an intimate time with friends and family, then I highly recommend this place. My wife is still talking about how great my entree was... Southern Style Shrimp En Croute (shrimp in Herb butter wrapped in scratch made pastry). If I was in Death Row, this would be one if the items on my platter. Yes, I'm a Foodie!I saw the previous review and I wanted to say that on the menus it stats... That if you leave the tip section open on the credit card receipt, it will add 20%... Why write a bad review, because you didn't see it posted and/or didn't want to tip someone... Own it... Write in $0, if that's what you want or tell them what they did wrong...

Crossroads Diner
For those that think breakfast is easy and that a chef could not make much of a difference, come try crossroads diner. Tom Fleming (yes, the Tom Fleming famous chef that has ran numerous extravagant resteraunts all over the world) has decided to open a breakfast and lunch-only restauraunt so he can have quality time with his family, and the dishes he serves are wonderful, affordable, and have every bit as much of Tom's talent thrown into these meals as he had when he was running some of the best resteraunts in the country. The pancakes are the best in the world, the eggs benedict is to die for, and everything else is excellent too. You have to try this.

Magic Time Machine Restaurant and Lounge
it's just a fun entertaining place for kids. The foods are just ok. Edible however nothing to brag about. I had bakckened catfish with vegetable..it was salty and greasy. the fried catfish for my mother in law was a big giant mound of mashed potato with 2 over breaded fish.. the kids had chicken finger and shrimp popcorn which they did not to mind at all. the salad car were just a big bolwI of mixed greens mostly romaine lettuce a little variety of other veggies like broccoli, mushroom, beets and few others and couples soup to choose from. I think if it's not for the kids we won't be choosing that place.

Just a moment...
