Mathew fixed my ac on a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 back in June 2016. After Dallas Dodge quoted me $1,600 to replace the evaporater and expansion valve (remove and reinstall dash)...I decided to Google ac repair Dallas and found Matt's. Mathew popped the hood and within 3 minutes he found a pin hole in the high pressure line (worn through the aluminum by an after market fuel filter). He quoted me $350 to $400, took off the line, welded it, reinstalled it, put protective shields in several locations that were also rubbing and charged the system. Then within minutes after the system would not cool properly he discovered the fan clutch was weak and not pulling enough air across the condesor. Put in a Hayes aftermarket clutch and the total was $457. He also replaced the the o rings at the expansion valve and charged the system with oil. I've been cool as a cucumber since. It's never thrown colder air since I purchased it used in 2013. My trans also now runs at 195 deg..it was running 230

I've been taking my vehicles there ever since Jiggs Trowell, A.D. Trowell and Charlie were there. Still as good as ever. I can send my elderly wife over there and they take care of her just like it was me. Plus they will drive us back home, then come pick us up when the car is ready. Very professional and nice. I'm good with cars but they can really tell what's wrong without wasting (my) money trying to figure out what the problem is. And if by some chance there is a problem with the repair they more than make it right. Cannot say enough good stuff about them. Thanks Terry and Bill. An Oldtimer!

I have the worst luck with car repairs and dreaded it when we broke down on the hwy Thanksgiving evening at 11pm. I knew it was serious and sure enough, we were facing a major overhaul and value repairs. Still, the kind people at Lakewood offered to work with us financially; to store the car at no charge until we could afford to pay them. They were so understanding and helpful. To my surprise, Lakewood called to say the damage wasn't nearly as bad and said it would only cost about half their original estimate. Thanks to their honesty, integrity and diligent work, we're able to have a Christmas this year. I'm so very grateful to the wonderful people at Lakewood Auto for all their efforts! *Update July 2012 - We've used Lakewood twice more and again have been very pleased. I'm on their email list as it's a good reminder about routine mntc + takes advantage of deals like $29 for AC svc which is a bargain! Note: There's criticism from ppl who think they've been cheated after getting a $150-200 price, then the actual repairs are way more. That initial price is for *computer diagnostics only* and ALL shops do this. If you get the car fixed, the diagnosis is included. But if not or you take it elsewhere, repair shops must charge for researching the car's engine trouble... how else could they afford those expensive automotive computers?

I have taken all my cars to Gary Miars Automotive (GMA) for the past 24 years. I have recommended GMA to many friends and family and all are repeat customers. There's never been a problem they haven't solved quickly and I have never been surprised by any outrageous bills. I would recommend GMA to anyone with any sort of car. My Jag, Mustang, Tahoe, 300ZX have all reaped the benefits of GMA's excellent care. My friends and family also take a wide range of vehicles there, from new Beemers and Porches to 1976 Convertible Cadillac Eldorados! Above all, GMA is honest. Something you can't say about a lot of people in this business! I believe it's also one of the reasons why GMA has so many repeat and high profile clients in the DFW area. BOTTOM LINE - If you've got a mechanical issue with your auto, take it to Gary Miars Automotive!!

I am glad I found a dealership that I trust and know that each time I take my car to get serviced they will take care of it with NO problems. Their service is waaaay better than the dealerships and is more affordable. Their staff is super friendly and their techs pay close attention to detail. I definitely recommend this shop as my experience has been great with them.

Whenever I need help with the car, it is very easy get Rob on the phone, and have him come over and fix what is wrong. Not only are his rates good, but his service is excellent! He works hard to find out all that is wrong, so that he can take care of All of the problem, and not just the symptoms. I value Mobileworks because they take care of business, and do not make me feel thrown under the bus when I pay the bill. I do not like to waste my money, and feel that Rob is worth every penny, because he gets things done right! Thanks Rob

The service manager was able to get my '04 Sequoia in the shop on the same day I brought it to him. McCain's correctly diagnosed the problem as a blown A/C clutch and compressor and estimated the cost of repair to be less than $1,000. Two years before I brought the Sequoia to the Toyota dealership and they just replaced the A/C clutch alone for $800, they should have replaced everything (~$2,000 at Toyota Dealer). I strongly recommend bringing your Toyota to McCain's Auto and AC Repair for their quality work and competitive pricing. Thanks for the great work Eric, my Sequoia is blowing ice-cold air in the 100 degree Texas heat!

The experience I had at Econo-lube was simply outstanding. They replaced my brake pads very quickly. The staff was friendly and doesn't try to talk you into unnecessary maintenance. Plus free brake inspection and cheap oil changes. I would highly recommend Econo Lube 'N Tune for oil changes and brake work, and I will definitely be going back for oil changes.

These guys were great, had my vehicle towed to their place for no charge. My vehicle had been at another shop were they told me it needed an engine, VIP took a look at it and found that the "engine issue/tapping noise" was just bad plug wires. Vehicle is running great and didn't cost me an arm & a leg. Will never take my cars anywhere else.

After four years of using this shop I have decided to move on. I rate them at 3 out of 5 stars, which in my mind equals a 60% rating. They are on the borderline of being a decent shop, but they have some issues that stand in their way. 1. They do not communicate well. They will do the absolute minimum in regards to reaching out to you about your car, and when they do, it's a brief synopsis with very limited options. 2. They just don't do the best work. I don't know exactly what their mechanic's expertise is, but it seems to me that he can be limited in his abilities. His work is also sloppy. Dirt and grime is usually around the work area of the interior of the car, he broke off pieces of the dashboard of my truck on my last visit, and it seems like his attention to detail is fair at best. 3. If you hint at dissatisfaction or frustration, they will respond right back at you with frustration and try to blame you for some reason. Their mechanic is very curt and can get snarky if you ask too many questions and the owner of the shop seems extremely detached from the real work that’s going on – as far as I’m concerned, she just runs the office. Which leads to my next point... 4. Their customer service is non-existent. They do not treat you like a customer - they treat you like you're a family friend that is wanting their car fixed for free. Their attitude about the job they do is that they are doing you a favor, not providing you with a service. They do not go above and beyond, and only when they make a mistake do they try to make things right - which for me, has been more than half the times I've been there. Here are my personal experiences: I've had an A/C tube failed to be re-installed after a fan was fixed, which resulted in the tube bouncing around the engine compartment, banging against the other engine fans. I've had them repair wiring on a door, only to fail less than a year later (I got the dealer to fix that one). The last straw was when I had them work on my truck for two weeks, only to drive it home and realize that the radio wouldn't turn on and that my interior dash lights were not plugged in - I returned them the vehicle and was assured that they could fix it while I wait. I showed up when the mechanic was "at lunch" after he told me to come up there about 30 minutes before, and I waited an hour for him to come back. It took him another 30 minutes to realize that he probably wasn't going to get everything fixed while I wait, also expressing his doubt that the radio worked when I first showed up... He begrudgingly offered to drive me home, which I denied - I didn't want him to think he was doing me any favors. They kept my truck for another two weeks and said that they'll fix it "free of charge" - like I was going to let them charge me for something they didn't fix in the first place. When the truck was ready, the owner tried to call me one time but for some reason got a "the owner is not accepting phone calls at this time" (which is weird because I had received calls that day as well as that entire week). She never called me back or left me a message to tell me the truck was ready. When I finally called she said it had been ready for a week. She said she tried to call me - but only documented one call that didn't go through and she never left a message. You might be thinking, "Why did you keep bringing your cars to them?" The answer to that is that they are a community shop that has served my home for many years and I believe in supporting our local businesses. But the fact is, they're not the only shop around my house and my loyalty to them is exhausted. If you have minor/simple work to be done I'm sure this shop can handle it. However, anything too complicated and I guarantee you it won't be worth the hassle working with this shop. Bring in your oil changes and brakes to these guys, but leave the hard stuff for a more capable shop.
