The Tenth Street Boxing Gym
01/29/2015- It happened one day when i was looking for a boxing club in Dallas. That should tell you right there that i might not be from Dallas! In fact, i am from Paris, France. So there I am calling Jay at around 9 pm to set up a time and start practice. It took us about two weeks before we could meet. At first, as he warned me that it was a "down and out" kind of club, i did not expect to enter an old house. But don't be fooled by the appearance of this club! You will be sweating, throwing jabs and punches, and if you ever did your cardio on one of those fancy machines at some fancy gyms and thought you were in great shape, think again!!! The first lesson is the most important, requires focus and persistence, and you got to show Jay that you are hungry for it. I am very enthusiastic about learning and gaining a greater understanding of the strategic art of boxing. I would like to thank Jay for his patience and dedication. Alexis.

Doctors Express Urgent Care Center
I was in Dallas on business and wasn't feeling well and I knew I needed to see a doctor before I got home. I found Doctors Express on the internet and decided to see if they could help. Not being familiar with the Dallas area, I called their office and asked for directions from my hotel. While on the phone, they took my information to make sure my insurance would cover it so when I arrived, there was little paperwork for me to complete and they saw me right away. The medical assistant and doctor were very friendly and understanding. They sent my prescription to a nearby pharmacy and made sure I knew how to get there. I was so grateful for their help and concern, especially since I away from home. I wish I had a Doctors Express in my city!

The Tenth Street Boxing Gym
My son has ADHD and my husband and I have been looking for some kind of sport that he would enjoy and to help him with his focus. We found one, The Tenth Street Boxing, Jay is the trainer and he is absolutely wonderful with him. He's very patient, and gentle and strict like a grandpa. Since my son has started boxing, he has gained confidence and discipline and he loves boxing. He enjoys going to his sessions, he never wants to miss it. I like that Jay, his trainer, always lets him know, that even though he's teaching him to box to always be the bigger man and to simply walk away. I love that about him. If you are thinking of having your child box, try 10th street Boxing, Jay will welcome you with a warm smile.

The Tenth Street Boxing Gym
Jay is amazing! My son is 12 years old and has been training with Jay for over a year now and you should see the growth. Jay worked with him one-on-one before pairing him with other boxers. His method of teaching is both comprehensive and strategic. My son is an athlete; however, he sometimes lack motivation...until he steps into Tenth Street. Jay is able to motivate him in a respectful manner. When he walks in, Jay simply says, "It's time to work." And although Jay always reminds my husband and me that he does not teach people to fight, he teaches them to box, my son is now capable of defending himself with ease. I am grateful for finding this jewel.

The Tenth Street Boxing Gym
I've competed in 2 amateur boxing matches before my first training session with Jay last weekend. After training with Jay I understand that what I was doing before wasn't boxing at all. Jay got right to the point refining my movement and teaching me the correct way to throw a punches, combo's and how to think. Other trainers will send you to the heavy bag to work or give you knowledge that you can pick up on Youtube. With Jay you are getting a 1on1 experience that will have you confidently going into any amateur fight. If you seriously want to learn how to box I suggest that you give Jay a call.

International Craniofacial Institute
Dr B and all of his assistants (Kelly/Daisy/Gloria/Natalie... and more that i cant remember names to) have treated me like family... it is very touching the way they have not only taken care of me before and after major surgery(upper and lower mandibles basically removed and replaced) I have hardly had any pain and have healed well. It is a testament to not only their competence but but care as well. I have been brought to tears by their understanding and concern over my situation. i cant say enough about them. my life is going to change for the better thanks to their efforts...matt w

The Tenth Street Boxing Gym
Called Jay to give me the tour of his gym prior to signing up. Jay was very welcoming and accommodating. As you enter the gym you will see a wall full of pictures of people that Jay has trained. He seems to have touched many people's lives throughout his years. I learned a great deal during my first boxing lesson, a lot of things I didnt think about but makes a lot of sense. He taught me how to punch correctly and how to move in the ring. He seems to have a lot of patience, and I'm glad he does because I am just beginning to learn how to box. I am looking forward to my next lesson!

AFC/Doctors Express Urgent Care
Have not had a great experience here. I have been twice, most recently for a severe cold. Dr. Luong was very hurried and unprofessional with me, cursing at least three times during my visit with him. Upon looking at my ears, he said they needed to be cleaned and proceeded to jab a plastic instrument in my ear. When I told him it hurt, he just kept telling me not to move even though I wasn't moving. Two days later, I am still sick and now going to see a different doctor as my symptoms are worse and my ear is now hurting. I will not be returning to Doctors Express.

The Tenth Street Boxing Gym
For a U.S. Army vet at 24 I can say this is the best gym to start a boxing career. This gym has every thing to perfect your technique in the sport. The gyms trainer/owner has a supreme amount of wisdom and heart for the sport. If I had any doubts before I got there I wouldn't remember due to Jay motivating personality and all his awards on the walls of the gym from his long history of successful boxing , champs he trained across the world, and affiliations he has with boxing managers in NY/Vegas/etc....Cant wait for my first day of training..PC
Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
