Frymire Services
Review of Frymire Services - July 30, August 1, and August 16, 2013I had Alan Sykes from Frymire come out on two separate occasions during the week. He first replaced a compressor motor. With no sales pressure, Alan reminded me how hold our A/C system was, and he gave me the option to replace the part or to contact a sales representative at Frymire to get a bid on a new system. I decided to go ahead with getting the part replaced while I got bids. Alan told me that I could get a credit for the purchase of a new system if I chose to simply replace the part. It was too hot to go without the A/C, so it made the decision that much easier to make!I was pleased with Alan's initial work, as he was able to come back with the replacement part on the same day and get our house cool again quickly. Alan also made a follow-up visit to fix the drain pipe from the drip pan under the condenser coils in the attic. We had had several companies come and provide estimates on a new system. Somehow during the inspections, the drain pipe become disconnected (it was not sealed well) and we had water dripping onto a bathroom ceiling. Alan was able to perform a quick and good repair.I wound up choosing Frymire for our new A/C system, as its price was extremely competitive, and I was credited for the previous repairs. Oscar B. and his crew came out promptly on Friday, August 16, 2013, and I was impressed at the speed at which they dismantled and removed the old equipment and got the new equipment installed. When I inspected their work, I was pleased to see that everything looked good, and they had even created more space in our attic by relocating the furnace, air handler, condenser coils, and other equipment to be less obtrusive than where the previous equipment was installed. The City of Carrollton inspector came out earlier this week, and he didn't spend much time with the system. He said that Frymire always did good work, which he said in an appreciative manner, because I'm sure it makes his job easier!I am enjoying our new system, knowing that it is saving us money and working more efficiently to cool our home.

Koen Plumbing
This was my first time using Koen. After dealing with an upscale Dallas company for several months trying to get my leaking shower fixed, I was referred to Koen by a friend. The shower faucet was installed wrong and the cartridge that had already been replaced three times by the previous company was no longer available. I did verify this fact. The only choice was to change a duel climate control faucet to a single control faucet. Koen did not haggle over prices, they were upfront with the estimate, did all the work themselves without me having to call in additional services for tile removal and replacement, and made it simple and easy after months of being brushed off. I found the team professional and informative, and I am loving my shower again. It is finally not leaking, and looks great. I will use them again in the future, and I will recommend them. Thank you Koen team. I am very pleased with your help in fixing a frustration problem.

AA Super Rooter
I needed a plumber in an emergency, so I called AA Super Rooter. Edwin came out quickly, even though it was late in the day. He helped me with a new water heater, and got the job done quickly. I needed more plumbing services later, and he again came out and made me feel very comfortable with what needed to be done. I got to see the blockage inside my broken pipe with the camera, so I didn't have to wonder if I needed new pipes or not--I did!! He has done a few jobs for me, and has always been professional, courteous, fair, and reliable with his services and his pricing. I would recommend him to anyone!

Pronto Plumbing was recommended by a neighbor. They were on time, actually, they came out late at night and shut my water off, saving me probably a few thousand dollars on water damage repairs. They arrived back the next day for the water heater replacement early. When the bill came, I was shocked!!! He missed quote by $300.00! It was $300.00 Cheaper! Hooray! Never in my life would I believe I could get an excellent job for less than quoted. I plan to call them back for some other things he recommended. I am telling all my friends. Attaboy, Pronto Plumbing!!!!

Had a problem with a previous plumber trying to up sell me on gas repair. Thomas came out found that the previous plumber had caused the problem. He called the other big name company THAT STARTS WITH AN "E" and explained to them that they need to come and correct the problem and not charge me. $300 SAVED ME FROM A $5000 CHARGE! Public Service Plumbers Inc
had a clogged sink. charged by the hour and very fair. most other places i called would only come out to provide an estimate and would not give a ballpark cost or time/range estimate over the phone, which can be a waste of time if you need to take off from work. will definitely use again. showed up on time and called before coming out.

Groutsmith Dallas
Very positive experience. Joseph, especially, took the time to answer our questions and explain what he would & did do. John, who provided the estimate, was very knowledgeable and helped a lot in selection of sealant color. Would recommend this firm to anyone wanting to make their shower squeaky clean!

Mr. Key was very professional and courteous, with no hidden agendas. He took time to explain things. His pricing was the best among the the various contractors I had perform estimates. I heartily recommend 24 Hour Key Plumbing to anyone needing routine or emergency service!
Tips & Advices
The following tools and common household objects can be used to clean drains at home:
  • A plunger
  • A drain snake
  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • Grease-fighting dish soap
Homeowners can mix boiling water with any of the last three products to break up grease and grime.
The main ingredients in clog removal liquid products are sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite. According to the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, both break down into relatively harmless components when it comes into contact with water or soil. However, both substances cause mild irritation to skin and internal tissues.
Also known as a drain auger, a drain snake is a coiled device around ΒΌ-inch thick. To use a drain snake, put the end into the entrance of the drain. Turn the handle to force the snake deeper, using extra pressure to force it through the bend in the pipe. Keep turning until the snake hits the clog, then either pull the snake and remove the obstruction or force it through. Once the snake is out of the drain, run the water on full blast for a few minutes to ensure the obstruction is completely removed.
Plungers don't damage residential pipes, but the force created by the act of plunging weakens the seal between the toilet and the floor.
Many plumbers, both local businesses and nationwide chains, offer emergency or same-day services.
