Patton's Auto And Muffler Inc
I don’t normally take the time to do testimonials on here for businesses, but I just had to this time. A big chain tire/auto repair shop in Powder Springs quoted me $1,107 to repair some front suspension work on my truck. It seemed high, and I always try to stick to local businesses when possible. I asked around and was told about Patton Auto & Muffler. After I dropped it off, the owner (Amos) called me to tell me that it actually needed TWICE the amount of work of what I was told by the other shop. I was actually glad to find out that they had done a more thorough diagnostic job…but I was even happier when I found out the total was going to be $455…for double the work! When I picked up the truck last night, the owner wanted to show me the parts that were removed so that I could feel confident that he wasn’t just trying to make unnecessary repairs. So he called the technician who had already left for the day to find out where he put the old parts. Then we went out back in the dark with his flashlight until we found the parts that were removed. As expected, they were obviously in need of replacing. He reminded me on the way out the door of my warranty and assured me that “You know your vehicle better than we do, so let us know if it’s not 100% right”. THEN, this morning he called me just to make sure I was pleased. Unbelievable.

We have a Camry with over 200k miles, and the transmission was slipping badly, and sometimes not shifting at all. I was sure it would need to be rebuilt. We took it in for an estimate, and they found that it needed one part and some fluid, for a total of $160. We went to pick it up after the work was done, and it was only $130, $30 less than the estimate they provided on the phone earlier! We aren't extremely knowledgeable about cars, and I can't even express what a relief it is to find an honest transmission place! Everyone was very nice. We will definitely be back whenever we need any service they provide.

Patton's Auto And Muffler Inc
Patton's Automotive is very honest and dependable. You want find another automotive shop that specializes in muffler system that is equally as good at automotive repair. Amos the owner is a strong God abiding man that will not mislead nor charge you more than the job requires. I met him 3yrs ago on a referral from another friend and I have been going to him and referring my friends to him every since. I know that when I go or send someone to him he will give the best service you can get every time. To put it simply it's very hard to find a mechanic shop like his anymore.

Vic Williams Tire & Auto
We have been going to Vic Williams for 5-6 years now. It's the only place we'll take our vehicles for service. They handled a transmission replacement a number of years ago and it's still going strong and they ask about it occasionally even though they service the vehicle every few months. They have honored their commitment to quality (brakes). When we have needed advice about a repair over the phone, they have generally given us the time to discuss it with us. When they recommend a repair they take the time to explain the need and urgency.

Vic Williams Tire & Auto
I have been a customer of Vic Williams Tire and Auto for 5 years. His shop is AAA reccomended, and he and his technicians provide good old fashioned timely, great service with a smile. He services all brands and always provides the customer with options on all repairs. If your issue is outide of his shop's scope, he will reccomend a good alternative. His waiting area has a kid-friendly area and offers WI-FI. He even invites customers to the company on-site holiday lunch each year.

Mo's Speed Shop
I recently had 3.73 gears installed in my 2012 mustang at mo's. Marty, Val and Jeff run an exceptional shop. Very knowledgeable and friendly techs and the place looks like a museum full of amazing cars. My gears are dead silent and my car drives as good as the day I brought it in. I will be telling everyone about MO's. Trust these people. They will do it right and if anything goes wrong they will make it right.

I was in desperate need of a mechanic because we needed it to travel to another state! I left a message on his phone Sunday night, (next day) first thing in the morning they called us and came to my house and they took a look at my car and fix it in no time! The price was comfortable and they were very nice!!! If I could give them 10 starts for being a life saber I would! A++++

Transmissions By Joe
I have a 2001 Silverado, the transmission was slipping and hard shifts. I was thinking the worst, time for a rebuild. Joe and his team quickly solved the problem with my transmission with just 2 minor parts. My transmission shifts better than it ever has since I have owned it. I would recommend Joe and his team to my own Mother. My wallet and I both thank, Joe.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
