5.Napa Valley Pizza & Pasta
2278 Newport Blvd
My husband and I live a few blocks from Napa Valley Pizza and have never eaten there before. We decided to dine in one night. The restaurant is so cute and cozy. The new owners are very nice and made a lot of great recommendations on the food. We started with the Risotto Croquettes and ordered the spinach and feta pizza, both were very good. The owners also mentioned they are now open for lunch, so I will definitely be back for lunch or even happy hour :)
6.Nick's Pizza Ristorante
2300 Harbor Blvd
Finally, I found a good pizza place in The OC. I love the pizza here, and the salads are tasty too. My mom tried some pasta dish and it wasn't the greatest, but I see people in here enjoying the pasta every time I go. The pizza is really where it's at though. And the beer on tap. ;-)\r \r Service is always friendly but not over-bearing. We go here at least twice a month.
2981 Bristol St Ste B5
Im new to citysearch. Signed up to leave a bad review for a company that tried to srew me over on an appliance repair. I saw reviews for this place and decided to write one too! I've been to this place many times, and it never disappoints! The food is great, the staff is frendly! If you are in OC come check it out!!!
8.La Cave Restaurant
1695 Irvine Ave
I've been going to LaCave for 25 yrs, and the atmosphere is the first thing you notice, It is a great place to take a date, or your s/o for a romantic evening. I have been hung up on the Halibut, which is outastanding, the garlic breac will bring you back again, and anytime I have gone, the service is great. It's very small, creating a nice friendly atmosphere. It is costly, which isn't bad. to me, you get what you pay for.\r I will continue to go, because the place cannot be duplicated in any other restaurant anywhere.\r Thanks..

11.Catalina Fish Kitchen
670 W 17th St Ste G8
We were greeted friendly by staff and very pleased with conditions of the restaurant. Best and delicious fish tacos I've ever had at very reasonable prices. they have quite a few selections of seafood on their menu. Sauces fresh and homemade. Parking places are convenient. I would definitely recommend Catalina Fish Kitchen to everyone.
12.The Capital Grille
3333 Bristol St
Excellent steaks. We had the kona crusted NY steak and porcini ribey Service is excellent. Gave wife rose for her birthday and gave each of us a complimentary glass of champagne.
2000 Newport Blvd
The hospitality is very kind, I couldn't have trusted the new company and I forgot the haters who treated me confoundedly prior to entering this establishment. The drinks smoken and the food is a splurge. No diets here. :) I'll be back because it just kinda beckons me to do that, wish it was more obvious.
3333 Bristol St
At the expense of sounding repetitious from the other 2 reviews, this restaurant has to be one of the BEST restaurants in Orange County (perhaps even California). The atmosphere is absolutely great, the waiters are very accomodating and serviceable and the owners very personable and accomodating people. Husband and wife compliment each other perfectly. He is the chef always present overseeing the food going out and she the pastry chef making sure that everything at the restaurant is going well. \r The first time my wife and I went there, we thought that the food and service was great because it was a ""new"" place. We have been back 6 times and each time is as good as the last. We make it a point to say hello to Amelia (co-owner) and have her suggest what she thinks is great on the menu. \r They have a very special touch in that they always give you a chef's compliment and every time is something different and just as wonderful as the last time. Wine selection is also great (innovative ""taste"" of some great wine is available, a ""taste"" being about 1/2 a glass of the wine giving you the opportunity to ""taste"" different wines). Portions are JUST PERFECT! You never walk out of there feeling neither hungry nor stuffed to the max. The one thing you have to make sure you do when you go to Marche Moderne is to leave room for DESSERT. I am not a big dessert eater, but I ALWAYS have dessert there.\r The only drawbacks to the place is that in the weekends, you cannot go out there without reservations. We have been turned down twice on Friday nights because we made the decision late in the afternoon. \r I wish both Florent and Amelia lots of success so that OC can continue to enjoy their wonderful cuisine.\r BON APETITE\r
15.Pinot Provence Restaurant
686 Anton Blvd
The restaurant is entirely dedicated to provide our guests with the very finest quality cuisine. It provides a complete range of services including creative menu development, budget flexibility and logistical planning. The master Chef Joachim Splichal is undeniable phenomenon. The most remarkable point about them is their wine collection. I would highly recommend Pinot Provence Restaurant to my family and friends for their service.
3333 Bear St
I love this place and am excited to be going down south tomorrow to eat there again. I have taken friends there and it's the best italian food around.. the chef comes out-- Pino- and talks to everyone and will try anything requested if at all possible. every bite has been amazing. yummmmmmmm

18.Hamamori At The Plaza
3333 Bear St
19.Scott's Restaurant & Bar
3300 Bristol St
This is the best seafood in the area. I've eaten at all the highly recommended seafood restaurants in Costa Mesa and this is the best. It's definitely pricey. Tuna or sea bass will run you $35. Soup or salad are an additional $10 - $15, and drinks are in the $10-$15 range too. But if you want a really nice restaurant, with nice decor, a nice atmosphere and outstanding seafood, it's definitely worth it.
20.Wahoo's Fish Tacos

22.Haus Of Pizza
1500 Adams Ave Ste 108
Two previous reviewers rated only a single star. They must have this place confused with someplace else. One complained about their pizza not being cut all the way through. Holy mackerel.....I believe that everyone has had a pizza like that! No sweat....just finish the cut yourself! Nice people, good food, they have just outgrown their digs.
3333 Bear St Ste 120
Sat, 3-8-14 8:10pm Just ordered two Ruby Burgers with cheese to go. Got home to eat them and no cheese, dry burger, one thin piece of tasteless tomato. Overall dry and tasteless... Had Sweet potato fries (good), and shake (good) all for $24! 2 burgers, one order of fries, one small looking shake for $24!! Wow. No wonder there wasn't a line to get in, like there used to be. Sad.
24.Aloha Hawaiian BBQ

26.Sushi Sho Japanese Restaurant
2263 Fairview Rd Ste J
Went here based on previous good reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. We came at the end of their lunch service but the hostess was very nice and welcoming. There were about 3 parties in the place, and it only has about 10 tables as well as a sushi bar. A cosy place. Was a bit hard to find and didn't look like much from the outside, just some big block letters in a boring commercial plaza, but the inside is nicely decorated, modern, and comfortable. But lets talk about the sushi. The fish was very fresh and the yellowtail is on the fatty side, which makes it great in my opinion. The flesh was almost buttery. The octopus isn't chewy, a big plus. Portions are large and prices are reasonable (about $8-12 per roll). The ""Dream Roll"" was amazing, it came with a lemony sauce which really complimented the albacore on the roll. The Sushi Sho special hand roll (with tuna, avocado, crab and crunchy rice flakes inside) was delicious. And the customer service was superb (our glasses were never empty for long) and everytime the hostess gave us a new plate or took the old one away she politely says ""thank you"". I also liked that we were served one dish at a time so we had time to enjoy it and didnt feel rushed even though it was past the time they were open for lunch. I know this feels like I'm gushing but I dont encounter really good places really often and they seem to deserve more customers than they have.
27.Manpuku Tokoyo Barbeque Dining
891 Baker St Ste A2
I used to go to the west La one for a long time, but it was very far for me to go because i used to live in Anaheim and now that I live in Huntington. I am happy that they opened up in costa mesa!\r \r My family and I always go there on our days off. The service is always warm and the food its fantastic.\r This Restraunt is worth a try!\r \r \r Recommendation: \r Prime Salted Tan\r Prime Outside Skirt\r Seaweed Salad\r Stone Rice
28.Side Street Cafe
1799 Newport Blvd
After driving by this cafe for ages, I finally had the opportunity to stop in for breakfast this morning. Just as sometimes you can immediately tell if a restaurant is going to be a bad experience and you should leave immediately, Side Street gave the feeling that I was in for a treat. \r The breakfast menu is HUGE, and everything looked wonderful. After debating between the SOS and the Eggs Benedict, I took the E/B. Although my English muffin was a tad burnt, everything else made up for it. The eggs were poached perfectly. The homemade Hollandaise was rich but not too cloying, and had a bright note to it. The ham was amazing. It was REAL ham; not compressed like Denny's, and it was thick and flavourful. The house potatoes were tasty with accents of green bell pepper and onions. I left most of them on my plate, not because they weren't delicious, but I had way overused my calories and carbs for that meal.\r Coffee was good, water was plentiful, and service was attentive and friendly. I'm going back next week ... maybe the SOS will be on my plate next time.
590 W 19th St
If you're looking for real sushi, this is the place. You're not going to find psuedo-sushi like crunch rolls, etc. If that's your what you're into, you will be disappointed. Will cost you some cash, but well worth it.
2920 Bristol St
Went here with my bf last night - and the food was amazing! We both decided to order several items and share - great idea! I sampled the Memphis House Salad - which was terrific, and the candied pecans really complimented the salad well! \r \r The down home gumbo was to die for - served with white rice and large grilled shrimp, definitely an authentic treat for anybody looking to sample soul food at its finest!\r \r My boyfriend ordered the fried catfish - which he gave a mediocre rating to. I enjoyed the hush puppies and rice that came with his meal....... :-)\r \r Although the star of the evening was my entree - the pan roasted, french cut chicken breast with bbq'd corn, string beans and mashed potato pancakes in a lemon-thyme sauce......absolutely to die for! I honestly don't know if I could order anything else from there - the chicken may have ruined me for all the other dishes....\r \r But I'm sure I'll manage to sample other things as well.....lol....\r \r Anyway, the drinks were stiff which was a plus on top of everything else!\r \r Although the service was somewhat medicore - but definitely tolerable.\r \r I didn't get a chance to try dessert - but next time I am definitely saving room!\r \r This restaurant is a must for anyone looking for a fun, delicious, authentic meal in a swanky, low-key, but romantic atmosphere. I recommend sitting in the patio, weather permitting....\r \r Bon appetit!
