This was my first time at this hookah lounge, and based on my expeirence at the other lounge in Corpus Christi, I was skeptical of trying another. The first night I came in, I was greeted immediately by the super nice man at the counter. Turns out he was the owner, Steve. Steve took his time on explaining how his establishment was run and the pricings. He also helped me pick a flavor with a TON of suggestions. (Which wasn't easy im super picky! ) I ended up LOVING my flavor i chose. Steve was really patient with me, and I could tell he really appreciated his customers. There are fruit bowls, (apple, pineapple, orange, and watermelon) that I cant wait to try! They smell soooo good. Also, This place is HUGE. There was a VIP room, 2 pool tables, and a air hockey table. Its spacious, and a great chill enviornment. It has a nice theme throughout, and a live DJ on the weekends. Since my first day here, I've been back 8 times, and I love it EVERY single time. The hookah are prepped super fast and the servers are beyond nice. I've never ever had to ask for coals. Which is big for me. I love big clouds, and hate when my coals start getting too small . I'd definitely recommend Tropical to all my friends and a ton of thumbs up
My wife and I are from Leakey and we came to Corpus Christi for vacation. We heard Politics was a good bar so we went on Friday the 22nd of March. There was a live band playing but the bar was not busy. We are assuming the bartenders are entry level. We did not receive help for 20 minutes from any of the 3 or 4 bartenders ( I do not remember how many exactly) As my wife and I were leaving the waitress (I assumed she heard us chatting) approached us and introduced herself and asked us if everything was okay and if we ever got served drinks. We told her no and were considering leaving. She told us if we stuck around she would get our drinks quickly and buy our first round. We took her up on the offer, sure enough, our drinks arrived in less than two minutes! Being as sweet of a girl as she was, continued to help us for the rest of the night. She was the only waitress tonight she said in conversation. It shocked me and my wife how quickly that tiny girl could move! Anyways we ended up staying late and enjoyed our night and the band. We left happy and my wallet empty with a large gratuity to the waitress. I wish we remembered her name. On our next vacation we will be coming back to Politics for a good time.
As a newcomer to Corpus and an avid hookah enthusiast, living across the street from such a versatile atmosphere has totally helped me integrate myself with the locals and find people of all genres to socialize with. The place is hard to miss, as red and white lights pull one from the street and into the bumping bass or smooth ambient tunes. I had no idea people chain smoked indoors here until I saw it; it smells clean and clear throughout the building. The flavours blew my mind, and the staff is as knowledgeable and accommodating as if they've smoked on a hookah since birth. The pool tables, open high Ceilings, low lights and contemporary music videos make me feel right at home. Whether it's a comfortable quiet atmosphere to spend some reflecting time with a smoke and a soda, or a hot weekend out with a few brews and the gang after the bars close... Tropical Hookah is the only spot to be <3
I have been eating at Town and Country for years, an average of 3 times a month. When the air conditioning went out on a hot day and the news reported customers not coming, I went everyday to show support. Today I went was told there was a 15 minute wait. After waiting 10 minutes a couple came in and within 5 minutes went over and sat down at a just cleared table. I asked the hostess about it. She said, "Well, they called and made a reservation with Sam." "Oh, you can do that?" I asked. She said, "They are friends of Sam's and come in all the time." My husband and I left. I don't know they were and I don't know who Sam is, but Town and Country lost two good customers today despite the good food and excellent prices.
Local restaurant that is an excellent place to eat for anyone visiting. I go often and each time I am extremely satisfied with the food and service. No matter what plate is selected, it is delicious and made to order. There is so much offered that you will NOT leave hungry. A generous variety of menu items from steaks, seafood, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, mexican and italian food choices, kid menu, desserts and beverages (wine, cocktails and frozen cocktails, softdrinks, tea and various types of coffee) but visit their website for their complete menu selections.
We don't have a "real" Mexican restaurant in the Nashville, TN area. Almost everthing there is swimming in cheese to the point that the burritos look the same as the chimichangas (?). This place was very refreshing. FINALLY a place that doesn't make paste out of the beans and smother everything with cheese!!!!! Plus, it was fresh. If we come back to Corpus Christi, we will definately return to this restaurant.
Excellent food with a Mexican flair. I had brusquely and chicken plate with beans and rice as a side. Food was excellent, service good, prices good. The only reason I did not give 4 stars as it is definitely a bar environment. You have to walk past the bar with a lot of people drinking during lunch to get to the dining room. If that doesn't bother you it's definitely worth checking out for lunch as I did.
J.P. Bombers, both locations actually, are honestly the most efficient restaurants I've been to. The staff is so knowledgeable about the menu and are comfortable in the way they speak to the customers. I didn't even have to call the waiter over & he brought over my drink refilled. The food delivery was timely and it tasted great as well. It's never a let down when my family & I come to eat here.
After returning from a 3 month hiatus is Austin, I was not looking forward to returning to my dining options limited to chain restaurants and taquerias. I'd heard the scuttlebutt about 8te and after eating there was not disappointed. A locally owned establishment with a modern décor and excellent food on par with many places I patronized in Austin. Eat local, Corpus Christi!
Once Again, Great FoodMy husband and I ate here over 15years ago and decided to go back. The food was delicious and we were very happy with our waitress. My daughter had the bowtie shrimp alfredo and it tasted delightful. I tasted my husband fried oysters and it had a good consistency and the taste was awesome. Prices were not too high either. Would recommend to anyone.
