Bekins Van Lines
These guys are the best!! We have moved twice, long distance both times, and I have got to say this move was so much easier than the first. I had to get 3 quotes for my husband company and when they came by to do the quote for me at my home they were concerned about my items and had taken there time measuring and going thru each room. When they left, I told my husband I really liked them. The other two companies came in and looked around and left. Well when the quotes came in these guys were 3000.00 dollars cheaper then the other two quotes I had. My husband and I was really concerned as to why???? I called and asked and I was told it was because, they try to reuse boxes to save family money and he quarnteed me that they can do it for the price he quoted. Now since My husbands company was paying for this move, I had to convince my husband that I liked and had a good feeling about this moving company. I wanted to go my gut feelings and wanted to go with them. WELL They treated us like family, Everyone at this company had been with them for over 10 years. What a great sign that this company takes care of their employees!!! And it really showed... I could just keep going on and on about how satisfied and how wonderful this company is and the employees. We were treated like family. They are the BEST!!! Oh and the quote came in cheaper after our move.

Awesome Moving
I called and spoke with Kelvin for about 15 minutes. He listened as I explained what I needed. He then came by that afternoon to give me an estimate. $300 to move about 10 minutes away and just the big furniture. We were crossing into a new zip code (right on the border from one zip to another) and other companies wanted to charge extra for driving because it was a different zip code. Crazy! He was very helpful and reliable. He brought two other guys with him for the move (sorry, don't remember their names) and they were great as well. Everyone was friendly and curdious. I would recommend them to anyone. Especially because Kelvin is willing to come out and look at the job first, to give a fair assessment. Great job awesome movers! You really are AWESOME! :)

Awesome Moving
We have moved homes eight times in 11 years, using a different moving company each time - some were big, some were small local movers.Kelvin and Awesome Movers were head and shoulders above the rest. They are the best! It was a long, 12 hour day in August heat. They worked hard. And Kelvin made sure the quality of the move didn't diminish as the day wore on.Every move before, something was broken and walls were dinged. On a couple of prior moves, there were disasters, like dropping large furniture down a stone stair way. With Kelvin, nothing went astray.I highly recommend them.

South Texas Movers
I just wanted to write and say how pleased we were with our packing and loading/unloading of our recent move. We have moved several times in the past as my husband was active duty military, and this move was the smoothest and most pleasant experience we've had.

Tips & Advices
Yes, it’s best to empty drawers, wardrobes and chests before a move. Items always get knocked around a bit, and doors can fly open even if they’ve been taped. In fact, more often than not, movers will want to remove the drawers from a dresser--or disassemble the wardrobe to be more space-efficient.
Yes, it is customary to tip movers, but the amount varies widely. For full-service moves, a 5 percent tip is suggested, although, for extra service, some people go up to 10 percent . For small local movers, you can give each mover $10 for a few-hour job, or $20-$40 for jobs that take longer.
A bill of lading is the legal contract for the move. It provides a detailed receipt, in addition to a contract between the client and the mover. It authorizes the mover to transport the goods from one specific point to another, and it outlines the exact scope of services, with cost breakdown for those services. It also provides an itemized list of the inventory, and carrier liability protection for each declared item. Finally, it specifies the payment arrangement. Make sure to go over your itemized list extremely carefully before finalizing the paperwork--and get a copy of the full document. A good mover will go over everything on the bill of lading with the customer.
There are several items that moving companies will not move – those items will be listed on a document as “non-allowables.” These items typically fall in three categories: perishables, sentimental/personal items, and hazardous material. Perishables are food and plants. Sentimental/personal value is up to the client to decide, but usually includes jewelry, medical and dental records, personal paperwork, valuables and collectibles. Hazardous material is the tricky category, since it includes a lot of everyday items found in the garage, garden or kitchen. For example, cleaning liquids and pesticides both are considered non-allowable by many companies. Some go so far as to disallow nail polish and batteries.
A binding estimate means that the moving company cannot charge more than the stated amount, though they can lower the final bill if the scope of the job was smaller than expected. A non-binding moving estimate is more likely to wind up costing more than expected, since the movers can increase their rates for unforeseen variables like stairs, “long carry” and materials.
