In response to Review by 123Terrible123. By the business owner Brian WickensMy late response is due to stumbling upon this review the other day. I believe it deserved my response. The facts are always the facts, and here they are.I have over 40 years’ experience scheduling and insuring that customers understand their obligations. The above customer showed up for her first 8 AM appointment, late, at 11:38 AM on Monday, January 21st, 2013. She did not call to tell us she would be late, nor cared that she was late, when she dropped it off. We were busy that day and as we would any day, we filled in with additional work that morning as this customer was presumed earlier to be a NO SHOW. No indication was made by her that the vehicle needed to be picked up that day. That explains why she did not get it back that day. About a month later the customer called us to inform us that the check engine light was on. In this case she may have fallen under our Wickens Automotive limited warranty of 12 months12,000 miles. We made an appointment for 8:30 AM February 27th, 2013. Given her past I made sure she understood her appointment time. Once again she shows up at noon. I asked why she was not there in time and I think by now you could guess the rest. We were not about to allow her to repeat this pattern. We at Wickens Automotive expect to be treated with respect & courtesy just as the consumer expects this from us. I need not point out that some Dentists and Doctors will demand payment for missed appointments. We do not. As to the charge that I the owner, would not communicate or treat her differently because she was female. That’s rubbish. Our customers would attest to that. I somehow doubt that her father would behave in the manner that she did. I’ve signed my name as I need not hide,Brian Wickens, owner Wickens Automotive If you are interested, read further. Sad, but interesting observations about what society has become. Some of us believe that our time is the only thing of value and other can just wait on us. We are here to serve our customers but we are not here to accept abuse. We’ve become The United States of the Offended. Whenever we don’t get what we want, we slander people with malice on the internet. It seems that there are an increasing number of us that have little or no value in the virtues of a business and or its employees. Our Company’s Code of Ethics has not changed in almost 30 years however we’ve noticed society has. Customers have become complacent in their choice of business and have opened themselves up to deceit and price switching shell games. Wickens automotive does not play those games. We’re guilty of telling it like it is and doing what is fair and correct for not only the customer but the employees and the business itself. That is the only win/win/win situation there should be. As the owner I am guilty of explaining things to people so they get it straight. There are millions of good honest people out there. By weeding out the bad Apples we’ll have more time for them. Tony Montana was very knowledgeable, polite and a top of the line salesman. When we arrived at the dealer, he had the car I had ask about online already pulled up for us to look at. When he told us how we could save a little money by eliminating a feature, he immediately, went and brought that car up for us. When we took our test drive, tony was very helpful with the features. Tony did not pressure us at all . I was very pleased with what they gave us for our tradein. This was absolutely the BEST car buying experience my wife and I have had. Our salesman Tony Montana, is a great person to work with he trearted us lots of respect and kindness. I would highly recommend this dealer and my salesman Tony Montana. Also, Amanda the business manger was very knowledgeable and very friendly, she went over the terms of the agreement so we were clear. Also, she found us a better interest rate and redid our paper work quickly. I will definetly recommand this dealership !!!Love my new Honda Accord !!!

Picked up our new 2014 CRV yesterday at Honda of Concord. Dave Fuge was our sales contact. Upfront, professional and NO SALES PRESSURE. There should be more people like him at car dealerships - would improve the overall reputation of the industry. (We've had issues in the past at other dealers - have had 'almost' every sales trick in the book thrown at / tried on us...). Not at Honda of Concord. Thanks also to Chip Olin (Internet Director) and Phillip Mundo (made the paperwork process as smooth as possible / walked through the fine print with extreme patience.) Do yourself a favor and shop around, but make your last stop Honda of Concord. Jim H. 3.14.14

I once read in a book, "When you get established on your own, find a good, reliable mechanic." Brian Wicken was that for my family and me. From driving out of his shop and adjusting my serpentine belt, to yelling at me for not changing my air filter, Brian was always a quality mechanic. He never sugar coated anything, and while some may see him as cold or harsh, his methods were because he wanted to achieve the best possible customer service. They're are countless times he did that for me and replacing him will be very difficult.Brian has since retried and is giving his time to help others. He is a stand up guy and his services will be missed.David

Honda Cars Of Concord
We bought a 2012 Honda CRV yesterday, and Dave Fuge was our salesman. He did an excellent job of providing information, showing us the cars we were interested in, and was never pushy. He worked with us a bit on negotiations, and we settled on a fair price. The only complaint I have is that I think they should fill the gas tank for you. Dave had it taken back to 'detail' (it was already immaculate), but when my husband brought it home it had less than 1/4 tank of gas. I just think it makes for a happy owner to start with a full tank of gas! I highly recommend Dave to show cars - he is friendly, knowledgable, and easy to work with.

We had purchased a vehicle from Honda of Concord several years ago. Before buying our next car, we thought we’d check out a few different manufacturers. After spending a week of car shopping, I can only say our experience at Honda of Concord won our business ... Jim Doyle was not only well informed but his customer care skills were stellar. Dave Fogg was diligent to make sure we got a fabulous deal and Les Steele was able to secure the financing we were looking for. If you’re in the market for a new (or used) vehicle, BE SURE TO CHECK OUT HONDA OF CONCORD before making your final purchase. I'm certainly glad I did.

As a woman, with multiple cars to keep maintained, I found Berrys Auto Clinic to be no nonsense, professional, and friendly. I trust them to keep all my vehicles in good repair. They are very competent, and honest, also reasonably priced compared to many chain repair facilities.i trust them implicitly to do the repairs needed without all the pressure some places put on a customer, to do more than what's truly necessary. Dave repaired my VW for half what another shop quoted. And it runs great now. What a comfort to be able to trust my auto service provider!

Excellent Customer Service!!!! Mark C was amazing, I felt completely comfortable I didn't feel rushed, it was an amazing experience!!! I leased my first car on my own there and didn't take advantage of my age and my little knowledge about vehicles and they helped me pick out the right vehicle that suits my needs and not their commission!!! Hendrick Honda of Concord provided the best experience. Although new car purchases should not be done on a whim, or new car purchase was. And the experience was phenomenal! Total time from start to finish trading or car in... less than 4 hours! They were able to put us in a new model for a better price than they could do on a used model that was the same exact car. Went in with low expectations, but came away with a new car and a great experience. Our salesman a Tony Montana was great, along with all of the other associates we encountered.

Absolutely great to deal with! We took a 2007 Tundra in with transmission problems that we thought may top off at $3500. The problem did not cost even half that much. The truck runs great now! We will be using them exclusively for our vehicles, especially since another highly recommended local repair place wasted our time (2 days) and did not even address the issues. On top of that the mechanic was extremely rude!!!The folks at Berry's were professional, courteous, accommodating, good communicators and easy to work with. Thanks y'all!
Tips & Advices
Depending on the part and its overall quality, a good amount of money can be saved by purchasing aftermarket parts versus OEM parts. But aftermarket parts that are low in price might also be lower in quality and could do more harm than good to your car, or they may need to be replaced more frequently than a more expensive counterpart. This could lead to saving some money in the short term, but spending more than anticipated in the long term.
The type of tires being purchased is the most significant determinant of their price. SUV tires are more costly than average car tires. And high-performance tires are more costly than economy grade tires. On average, standard tires for an average-sized vehicle are around $100 per tire. Standard tires for an SUV are around $150 and pick-up truck tires are about $200 on average. Some dealers offer discounts if purchasing more than one tire.
Car inspections typically take about an hour. However the wait time can be longer depending on how busy the shop is. Call ahead for an appointment to avoid long wait times.
Depending on the manufacturer, certain aftermarket parts can be just as reliable as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. But one item within a vehicle, like oil filters for instance, could have multiple manufacturers and there could be inconsistencies in quality among them.
Costs of replacing a windshield can vary greatly depending on a variety of factors:
  • Vehicle make and model
  • How much of the cost insurance will cover
  • Whether the windshield installers come to your location or you bring the vehicle to them
  • Standard service costs of the windshield installers
Generally, newer and higher-end vehicles cost more to have their windshields replaced because certain manufacturers use modified or proprietary glass types.
