Old school steak house. Low lighting and retro decor, but one of the best steak houses in Columbus...very romantic. Wife took me there for my birthday about 10 years ago, and we have been back twice since. The last time, last year, I got the 20oz Porterhouse which was cooked perfectly. Its hard to cook a large steak to order, but the Top chefs has it nailed down. If you are a steak eater, this restaurant should be on your ""must go"" list. Always a delight.

I go to Mitchells at least once a month now for years. The General Manager always greats me by my first name when I arrive. He continues to check on me thoughout my dining experence. Service is always great even down to the free valet parking. If you want to have a great dinner experence go to Mitchells.

Went to dinner at Ruth Chris after an Ohio State football game to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our waiter, Ed, anticipated our needs and was able to make quick recommendations based on our preferences. (Dry wine, red, white, sweet, mixed cocktails, sides , desserts, seafood to accompany different steaks, etc. Ed made our dining experience relaxed and comfortable, and the food, as always, was terrific. The steaks are so incredible that they almost defy description. Our wait staffer, Joseph was ever vigilant with frequent water refills, clearing, initial level issue resolution for several of the waiters' tables, and Justin was an observant presence who ensured guest experiences were the best that they possibly could be. Incredibly, Justin did this while seeming to fade into the limelight. He was always present and aware - if not necessarily seen by customers. Would recommend this place to ANYONE!

Years ago, the place was one of the worst steak houses I've been to in Columbus. However, in the past 4 years, it's been nothing short of being excellent. The food tastes wonderful, cooked to my liking, served in a timely manner by very curteous servers. The servers always "watch" our table closely for needs of any kind. The prices are very reasonable for the great quality of food. We really enjoy our meals there. Sometimes, we go 2 to 3 times a week.

Okay, it's a difficult statement to qualify when you have Smith & Wollensky across the fountain and McCormick & Schmick's down the street, but I have to give credit to BDI for putting this diamond in the rough at Easton. My wife and I get tired of the same old same old, and most especially the throngs of people flashing new money at S&W or M&S or stumbling over themselves to eat another Fett Alfredo or oversized sandwich at Brio or Cheesecake Factory.\r \r As others have said Bon Vie has the best location and patio at Easton and the food is delicious. Be warned, I am French and the food is definitely NOT French, and I would be hard-pressed to admit it's French-influenced. The good news is they've fixed some of their typos on the menu and what they have is good food for anyone and have created an experience that is the closest approximation to what a sidewalk cafe or bistro would be in France! The servers are what keep my wife and I coming back, Chad and most of the other guys are stellar and remember you when you come, good luck finding that at any other restaurant at Easton, they have enough personality as to not be too stiff, but still remain professional - without a doubt the best staff of servers at Easton.

Good food and ok service for the price. Would have been 5 stars 2 years ago. That is when they had excellent food and great service for the price. Not sure what happened. Not as many customers as there used to be either. New management? I still go there, but not as often as I used to. Still not bad though.
12.Morton's The Steakhouse
280 N High St
My wife and I went to Morton's for the first time last night for a birthday dinner. Of course we had heard great things, but in the back of our minds, we were wondering how it would measure up to Ruth's Chris, which we both love. Here's my comparison of the two, based on my experience: APPETIZERS - the Seared Ahi Tuna at Ruth's is good, but the Colossal Shrimp Alexander at Morton's is amazing. Morton's wins for this dish alone, however, my wife wasn't too impressed with her crab cake at Morton's. SALADS - At Morton's they are huge, but not incredibly tasty or inventive (and who wants to fill up on lettuce before having their steak, anyway?) The Ruth's Chop Salad is wonderful, so I will give them the edge here. SIDES - Again, I prefer Ruth's Chris. Their baked potato tasted better than the one at Morton's, and I'm quite partial to potatoes au gratin, which Morton's doesn't have. STEAKS - In my opinion, they are just about equal. I would give RC the slight edge on the taste of the steak itself, but as far as portion size, the double-cut filet at Morton's is impossible to resist. I do enjoy the whole sizzling butter thing at Ruth's, but the bernaise sauce accompanying the steaks at Morton's is FABULOUS... this puts their steak over the top for me. DESSERTS - My wife and I adore the Caramelized Banana Cream Pie at RC, but the Morton's Hot Chocolate Cake is out of this world! Slight edge to Morton's. SERVICE - In my experience, the service at Morton's was a bit better. CONCLUSION - Both are awesome places with fabulous steaks, and both are expensive, with Morton's being slightly more so. You really can't go wrong with either one... but if you were to ask me where I wanted to go to dinner tonight, I would probably lean towards Morton's.

Dined at this restaurant this evening. Had I not been with business colleagues I would have sent my meal back. The risotto was cold and the scallops tasted as if they had been dredged in salt. The caesar salad was good and the side dished were tasty and hot, but the main course was both a disaster and disappointment. The wait staff was also disorganized. Two servers for a table of four that did not keep track of what each other were doing. This restaurant needs to work out the kinks.

My husband and I have been to the Hyde Park almost every weekend for over a year, and the food, the staff and the atmosphere are all tops. The Steak Griffin with the Cabernet Shallot Butter and the Pretzel Bread alone make the experience worth while. Not to mention the biggest and best piece of Chocolate cake you have ever had. The Manager Scott and Chad are wonderful and if your go request Lincoln or Chris as your serves for the evening...They are the BEST!!!

I've been to Texas De Brazil in Columbus 3 times since they opened a few weeks ago! The steaks were excellent and the service was very good. Being from Brazil I am used to going to some of the best Brazilian Steak houses all over Brazil. In Brazil the best steak houses are known for having the best service in the restaurant business which is what separates them from one another. At Texas de Brazil they value service experience as they are well staffed with very friendly and well trained gauchos who help make the experience as great as it can be. I liked how their managers were constantly coming by our table and asking what our favorite cuts of meat were so they kept those coming non-stop to our table. The grill manager, the GM, the head cheff , the gauchos, and the servers all do a very good job. And my favorite part is that all gauchos speak Portuguese even if they are not Brazilians!
