Chop 5
I went with a friend on Monday and I believe they opened on the previous Friday. We were welcomed and the people who worked there were friendly and courteous. The problem is the price and the food. The lettuce was saturated with water. Even before they added the lettuce the silver bowl it was mixed in had at least a cup of water just laying in it. You have basically a huge bowl of lettuce with 5 ingredients for $8.00 I can go down the road to Jason's Deli and get as many toppings as I can put on my salad for the same price. Or go to Chipotle down the road and have unlimited ingredients in my bowl for one price (except an additional price for guacamole) I will not go back because the taste was primarily...water! They measure the 5 toppings that you add to the copious amount of lettuce and let me tell you, the measurement is SMALL. I was so excited to try it and I believe it is one of a kind premiering in Columbus. While I wish them success, they will need to step up their game with the food!

Restaurante PLAYA LARGA
If you are looking for an AUTHENTIC Mexican dining experience in Columbus, run - DO NOT WALK - to Playa Largo! (To give you a clue as to how authentic this restaurant is, the menu is in Spanish and the clientele when I was there was almost entirely of Hispanic or Latino descent.) Absolutely excellent and quite delicious mix of tasty home-style cooking, as well as traditional American/Mexican "fusion" dishes and very near gourmet grade Mexican dishes. Service is at a relaxed pace, and food was served by several members of the cooking staff when I dined there with a friend. Having lived previously in both Texas and Southern California, this humble establishment was exactly what I had been missing! Not for everyone if you prefer familiar Americanized Mexican served at lunch-hour pacing, but If you are somewhat adventurous in your eating preferences, try Playa Largo. You will NOT be disappointed.

Texas de Brazil
I've been to Texas De Brazil in Columbus 3 times since they opened a few weeks ago! The steaks were excellent and the service was very good. Being from Brazil I am used to going to some of the best Brazilian Steak houses all over Brazil. In Brazil the best steak houses are known for having the best service in the restaurant business which is what separates them from one another. At Texas de Brazil they value service experience as they are well staffed with very friendly and well trained gauchos who help make the experience as great as it can be. I liked how their managers were constantly coming by our table and asking what our favorite cuts of meat were so they kept those coming non-stop to our table. The grill manager, the GM, the head cheff , the gauchos, and the servers all do a very good job. And my favorite part is that all gauchos speak Portuguese even if they are not Brazilians!

Olive Garden Italian Restaurant
April is the best waitress I have ever had!!! She was awesome. I had to restrict some items and she was very attentive to the needs of what I was ordering. If you get a chance to request her, she is great. I had a bread-less chicken parm. with some plain spaghetti noodles and a small salad and endless soup. The soup was hot each time she brought to our table, The salad was perfect in size and what I needed and our food looked and tasted delicious. She was very helpful when getting the leftovers boxed up too! I loved her attitude and if there is a model of how a waitress or waiter should serve, she would be it for sure! Olive Gardens food is at status quo, the atmosphere is very neutral, but her service knocked it out of the park. I would go back to this location in Hilliard time and time again if I lived in Ohio still.

Frutta Del Mondo
When we first walked in everybody stared at us, and I wanted to hightail it out of there....but I'm glad I didn't. I think they just have a huge crowd of regulars, and there was an element of shock and the inevitable sizing us up that occurred when two newcomers waltzed in unannounced. I'm happy to be able to say that, once they got over the initial shock, the staff was exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Food was also pretty awesome and just what the doctor ordered. Also, consider getting a breakfast panini to go if you''re ever in the area and are over the whole fast food breakfast situation. The bacon, egg and cheese panini that my fiancee brought home for me was more than enough reason to crawl out of bed on a cold, winter morning.....confession, I ultimately ate it in bed and loved every minute of it!

Cap City Fine Diner and Bar
I have not had much on the menu, but the romano crusted chicken is more than enough reason to go back. It's one of those things where I'd like to try other stuff on the menu, but it's just so good that I find myself ordering it every time. I'm only giving this 4 stars because I've been in larger parties where several people were disappointed with their food (one of these occasions was an Easter brunch so I know that's kind of a crazy day where things are bound to go wrong) so I dunno. In any case, I'll keep going back and keep ordering the romano crusted chicken until it lets me down. So far, so good! Also, I think it's worth noting that the staff has always been helpful anytime there was an issue, and they have always been nice in my experience. A little niceness goes a long way!

Louie's Diner
My husband and I came in from Indiana to visit our son who goes to The Ohio State University(Go Buckeyes!) last weekend and we wanted to have a hot breakfast before touring Campus with our son and found this little Diner not to far from his apartment off Weber Road. I wasn't too sure what to expect, not knowing the area, but what a pleasure, the food and service was GREAT and even got to talk to the "new" owner , who made the experience even better, she apologized for our slight wait , but I understood , they were very busy and a new cook, but as I explained it gave my husband and I a chance to "tie" our son down and see how the past 6 months away from home has been..lol..Service was wonderful, we will definitely add Louie's DayBreak Diner to our Favorites...Tom and Barb Walker..

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers
We went there for my son's birthday dinner. It was very packed which is expected on a weekend. The gentleman at the front said since it's his birthday he could get a free gourmet burger. Wait time was suppose to be 25 mins but we waited around 45, people who came in after us was somehow seated before us with the same amount of guests. When we were finally seated the table & floor especially was filthy then the waitress informed us that my son couldn't get a free gourmet burger but they would do the birthday song and a sundae. My son didn't get any of that, instead we got crappy service and we didn't even get everything we ordered! Food was good, service crappy! Very disappointed!

Cameron's American Bistro
Yes, the se[ING was well lit and the atmosphere friendly. I was hoping for a quite more romantic venue but I guess you don't get that in a bistro. The Vegetable Plate that my girlfriend had asher main course was quite fantastic. It showed a lot of thought was put into it and not just a mishmash of freshly cooked and prepared veggies. We started off with the calamari which was very good and wonderfully seasoned. It was my dish that kind of disappointed me. The sticky rice was a bit hard on the edges and the red snapper, although light and flakey, just didn't have enough seasoning to make it pop. Overall a pleasant experience.

Skillet
My only gripe with this place is that they have delicious, self-serve coffee outside for the people patiently waiting for a table, but you can't add it to your tab if you partake. I never carry cash so I had to run to an ATM just to make sure I didn't end up on Santa's naughty list this year. Other than that, it's heaven. The food is excellent, and the portions are more than generous. This is hearty, southern-style comfort food right in the heart of Ohio! Can't wait to hit it up again, but I will be sure to have a couple bills in my pocket before I get there :)

Just a moment...
