Cooper Properties
UPDATE: After I posted my review was posted things have improved here. There is a locking front door now, although it has large gaps on either side that let in a flood of cold air. Two noteworthy instances I have been impressed with Cooper Properties: 1. I locked myself out of my apartment, and the maintenance guy was there to let me in within 20 minutes (on a Saturday morning!) This was extremely helpful. 2. There was water leaking through the ceiling and again, a response was made very quickly- this time within the hour I think. The maintenance guy resolved the issue efficiently. So perhaps all of the inconvenience I experienced for the first two months of renting with Cooper Properties is not a reflection of the competency as a whole. I have never written a review before, but I was compelled to do so because of my extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Garth/Cooper Properties so far. They are unorganized in a big way and not at all professional in demeanor. They have little concern for their tenants' comfort and safety (although they will assure you otherwise). They take FOREVER to address major maintenance issues. I mean FOREVER like months and months. Let me just give you a synopsis of my experience so far so that you know what you are in for when you sign a lease:-At the lease signing I was not given a copy of the lease-I was given the wrong keys to the building and my unit and thus was locked out when I tried to move in (maintenance guy brought me the key)-I was never given a key to the back door of the building and still cannot enter/exit from the back (where the parking is)-Garth was unable to tell me who the energy provider was for the property, and then he guessed that it was AEP-I call AEP to try to set up my electric bill and they have no record of the property-My electric is shut off because it is provided by the City of Columbus. (got that taken care of right away when I finally figured it out on my own)-The gas had been shut off by the maintenance guy. Only the gas company should ever do that. -I was told there would be central AC when I moved in and there wasn't. Two months in they decide to install it and one day without any warning I come home from work to a house literally covered in sawdust. All of my clothes, books, couch, bed...everything covered in sawdust. -There were no working lights in the hallways or the outside for the first three months. -Garth decided that the building needed a new door and that project has been half-finished for about two months. There is a large pile of trash from that project sitting as decor in the front yard.

I asked right away that this issue be fixed and it hasn't been. I was never given a key to the back door of the building and still cannot enter/exit from the back (where the parking is)-Garth was unable to tell me who the energy provider was for the property, and then he guessed that it was AEP-I call AEP to try to set up my electric bill and they have no record of the property-My electric is shut off because it is provided by the City of Columbus. One last thing that happened this week: Garth finally decided to put new locks on the front and back doors of the building and DIDN'T GIVE ME A KEY OR EVEN NOTIFY ME...and so I came back at midnight on a Saturday and was locked out of my home. I was alone and it was dark. Fortunately I had left a window unlocked and so I climbed in. This was the event that really prompted me to write this review. I wouldn't rent with them if I were you.

Cooper Properties
Would not recommend renting with Cooper. First of all, the apartment was a dump to begin with. The door to the outside of our apartment does not lock so anyone can get into the building- just not into our actual apartment. Either way, I don't like it. Next, WE HAVE BUGS! We have called maintenance to have the bugs taken care of TWICE and though they responded quickly, it seems like the amount of bugs we get just increases. We have one window that opens, but it doesn't lock so we have to hold it shut with a wooden pole. You cannot open the closet door without it falling off... every single time... in every single bedroom. The shower ALWAYS GETS MOLDY no matter what you do to try to prevent it. It's just a damp, disgusting apartment. The place is a nightmare. I can't wait to move out.

F&F Home Improvement Co
This is the owner and you will see Negative post like these ones, because people (subs) come to my office looking for work but dont have the experience and skills to do the work that show up after getting the job from me and as my contracts state clearly that each one of them have signed before getting the job, if the job is not 100% COMPLETE or if you ( Sub ) desides he or she dont want to finish the job , than you do get paid for anything that was or wasn't completed . The Trust is Ladies and Gentlemen is the ones that put negative remarks on here are the very ones that got fired or was gonna get fired for poor workmenship , So please stop trying to make my company look Bad and work on your skills good luck. Eagle Specialty Remodeling Inc
We selected Eagle to completely remodel our kitchen. We had to rip everything out to the walls and start new with new appliances, cabinets, countertop and range hood. They finished a few months ago. I wanted to wait a bit before I reviewed them to see how the kitchen was working. We are completely happy with every phase of the project from design to demolition and the rebuild. Scott and Shannon were there and available for questions at every part of the remodeling process. The workmanship was exquisite. They have a special resource in their workforce. That is Howard a master craftsman and probably a national treasure. We are so happy we chose them.

Climatech Heating & Air Conditioning
When my air conditioner went out, I began imagining all kinds of nightmare scenarios-- it was going to cost the moon, I was going to get ripped off, etc. Imagine my surprise when Climatech arrived promptly, fixed the problem in under an hour and charged a very reasonable price. Wonderful service! I am happy to recommend him because he is what others only a claim to be... honest and professional.

Anderson Home Inspections
We just had Duane Anderson at Anderson Home Inspections do an inspection of our new home and he did an outstanding job. He spent at least 4.5 hours at the home, gave a very detailed report with photos of every flaw he found. He also took the time to walk me through the house and verbally explain everything he found. I highly recommend him.

Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.

Just a moment...
