Smallwood Home Maintenance
Smallwood Home Maintenance is great! I called the company needing some work done on my rental home to get it ready for a move in. The receptionist was very friendly and answered all my questions. She also asked all the right questions in order for the tech to know exactly what was needed when he arrived. A consultation was scheduled for the same day and work on my house began the very next day. I had a very long list of things that needed done including painting, trash removal, cleaning, carpet cleaning, furnace work and so much more. I thought it would take weeks to get my home ready for the new tenant but it was all done in one week. I would recommend Smallwood Home Maintenance over and over again. I will also be hiring them to do all future work I need done. Very professional company and very reasonable prices.

F&F Home Improvement Co
This is the owner and you will see Negative post like these ones, because people (subs) come to my office looking for work but dont have the experience and skills to do the work that show up after getting the job from me and as my contracts state clearly that each one of them have signed before getting the job, if the job is not 100% COMPLETE or if you ( Sub ) desides he or she dont want to finish the job , than you do get paid for anything that was or wasn't completed . The Trust is Ladies and Gentlemen is the ones that put negative remarks on here are the very ones that got fired or was gonna get fired for poor workmenship , So please stop trying to make my company look Bad and work on your skills good luck. Eagle Specialty Remodeling Inc
We selected Eagle to completely remodel our kitchen. We had to rip everything out to the walls and start new with new appliances, cabinets, countertop and range hood. They finished a few months ago. I wanted to wait a bit before I reviewed them to see how the kitchen was working. We are completely happy with every phase of the project from design to demolition and the rebuild. Scott and Shannon were there and available for questions at every part of the remodeling process. The workmanship was exquisite. They have a special resource in their workforce. That is Howard a master craftsman and probably a national treasure. We are so happy we chose them.

Columbus Floor Sanding Co
Disasterouly, I had a couple of novice friends help me sand my 50-80 year old hardwood floors. As a novice home owner, the butcherd floor taught me the hard way that there are somethings expertise really is an asset in and that the DIY movement doesn't do justice to. And Columbus Floor Sanding came to my rescue, salvaged the botched job, fixed errors that appeared to be dire, all in a timely and professional manner and for a very reasonable price compared with other estimates. I truely appreciated the amazing communication freindly service and honest appraisal in addition to the beautiful outcome.

Traditional Hardwood Floors
A friend worked for the Historic Preservation Society and found a farmhouse in Kansas that was being razed due t its poor condition. He knew that I wanted new hardwood in my loft. We had it shipped to Columbus. I called this company to get insight on the scope of this project. We agreed on a fee. They showed on-time and went to work planing and installing. I was concerned with squeaking due to the age of the floor. There is NO squeaking. I am very, very pleased with the outcome. Consider Traditional Hardwood. They are very skilled.

RiteRug Flooring
We have purchased from Rite Rug several times and have always been pleased with the experience. Most recently we replaced the carpet on our steps and hallways/loft. Travis, our salesman, was new yet very conscientious and knowledgeable. He was out to measure and got our carpet ordered and installed all within about one week's time. Thanks to the Rite Rug staff, Travis in particular, and the installers for a positive experience.

Columbus Handyman
EXCELLENT business with very talented guys. They are very professional and can always fix the problem eventually. What people must understand: the nature of handyman work is very hard to time. You must be flexible when dealing with a handyman because they never know what they are getting into with home repair jobs. If you can be patient, you will be pleased with their services. (They are usually on time or pretty close)

Columbus Floor Sanding Co
Did a super job. The crew was prompt and courteous and everything was so much cleaner than expected. We had our floors refinished 20 years ago by a different company and that process was very dusty. I'm not sure what has changed but this time around there was no dust for me and my wife to clean up afterward. We would definitely use again.

Tips & Advices
In most states, contractors are required to have a license before taking a job. Some states also require registration. To be licensed, contractors must pass an exam and meet certain qualifications that prove he or she is a competent flooring contractor. Registration is simply a list of who will be performing a job.
The time it takes to install flooring depends on the type of flooring and the size of the room or rooms involved in the project. In one day, a typical contractor can usually install up to 2,000 square feet of carpet, 600 square feet of hardwood or laminate, or 400 square feet of tile or stone.
  • Do you have a professional license, insurance, and a business liability policy?
  • Who will work on the project?
  • Do you subcontract, and do you screen workers and have insurance policies to cover them?
  • Do you have references or examples of your work I can see?
  • Do you charge for an in-home estimate?
  • What type of flooring is best for my home in terms of architectural consistency, environmental influences (such as whether a certain type of flooring will be affected by humidity in my area), and durability?
Legally, insurance is not necessary, but it's a good idea for flooring contractors to have it. When hiring a flooring contractor, ask whether the business is insured. If it's not, consider that a red flag.
A flooring contractor should know the pros and cons of each flooring option. These might include pricing, time of installation, durability, and average lifespan of the material.
