Chin, Linda MD
Dr. Linda Chin and her staff, especially her assistant, Darla, are very caring and supportive of her patients. Yes, although her practice is very busy, HIPPA has required that they take a patient into a room separately from anyone and then that person can consent to whether or not they have you in the room with them. They are all courteous and are excellent doctors, assistants and staff. As a result, you are given as much time to talk with Dr. Chin and most of the time, unless an emergency takes place, you are seen on time and in a friendly and professional manner! I have used their offices for several years and although the laws have been changed (thank you government for sticking your nose where it doesn't belong in my health care) she is very caring and supportive of her patients. I would recommend her office and staff to anyone and Dr. Royer is her partner in the practice and is also very patient and friendly. As the practice has grown substantially over the last few years, they still see you as a patient not as a number and you should get all your facts from personal visits not from a disgruntled patient's spouse who doesn't know that the laws have changed due to the government and not the doctor's policies. They are superb and I have my entire family using her offices as well. I have recommended her as a doctor many times and she and her staff are caring, supportive and even though they are extremely busy, they take their time and they don't embarrass or mistreat any of their patients and spend more time and know you on sight when you come in! There aren't many staff members or doctors who can recall what problems you have or who you are by sight rather than reviewing your records.

Reese, Chasity R
We needed to find a General Practitioner in Columbus, Ga as our doctor was now 80 miles away. We found Dr. Chastity Reese was taking new patients, so scheduled an appointment for my husband who had taken a fall, been to er x2, and was still in a great deal of pain. First impression was the neatness and organization of the waiting room area. All toys for kids had small parts attached so that they could not present a fall hazard for others.Upn being called back to examining room, the nurse was quite adept at getting things done in an efficient manner, and as quickly as she finished, the doctor entered.Dr. Reese in a Doctor of Osteopathy, which I believe gives her more information about the human body, and for the next 30 minutes, I watched as she went over my husband with a "fine toothed comb". She gave him a COMPLETE exam and sent him for back xrays. We received a call the next morning telling us the results would need a surgery fix, and we KNEW she had uncovered all stones to lead to this discovery. We would strongly recommend Dr. Reese to others who are looking for a well qualified, exceptional bed-side manner physician in the Columbus, Ga area.

Raborn, Stephen D MD
Two days ago I received a complete comprehensive physical with detailed attention to my concerns and medical issues. Took an unusually complete social history and prior to my first visit, he anticipated my medical needs and provided crucial information I would need for continuity of care. Never rushed and as a registered nurse since 1969 who has worked virtually every specialty except renal dialysis, I was impressed with his ordering appropriate tests and avoiding the shotgun approach of so many phphysicians. I am blessed to have him as my physician. A +.

I love the staff, Could not ask for better people!!! They know each one of my children by names and know each of thier conditions, good and/or bad. If and when I see them outside of the office they still know exactly who each of us are. If there has ever been a problem with anything they have went over and beyond to fix it and make it right. I have a new grandbaby on the way and they are not taking new patients and I am truly sad because I have no idea who else to take the new baby too.

Floyd, John, MD
Can't say enough good about Dr. Floyd! He is the consummate professional, very personable and caring surgeon. We felt blessed that he was available to repair a femur in my 100-year-old Dad! He listens fully to patient and family concerns and addresses them immediately. Many surgeons come with a poor bedside manner and a God Complex - NOT THIS ONE. He is as down-to-earth as they come.

St. Francis Hospital
I have now had 3 surgeries by different doctors at St. Francis. From the Receptionist at the front door of the hospital, to surgery staff, Nurses who came to my room, and then those who helped me back to my car. Each one can be described as Excellence in their field. all were kind and ready to take care of whatever the need was. I could not have been more please.

St. Francis Hospital
If it wasn't for the people in the MS-ICU I would not have my son today. He was in this hospital for almost a month and I have never seen such care and concern given to anyone. These people are walking angels.

Tips & Advices
Academic medical centers provide the widest range of specialty care treatments, including the latest technological advances, clinical trials, and surgical techniques. In general, an academic medical center is a better choice than a community hospital for complicated treatments or rare diseases. Pediatric intensive care, especially, is usually performed at academic medical centers.
Academic medical centers offer a broad range of specialized services, from allergists to urologists. Some of the larger medical centers have entire hospitals or clinics focused on a particular medical service, such as cancer treatment, though specialties vary among the centers. Patients whose community hospital or local doctors do not have the facilities or expertise to address complex medical conditions can be referred by their primary care physician or local specialist to a major medical center (there are more than a dozen in the United States).
Yes. In addition to their inpatient hospital services, medical centers can offer a wide variety of outpatient services, such as pain clinics, rehabilitation centers, surgery, imaging and laboratory, mental health treatment, and outpatient cancer treatment. Medical groups – doctors in private practice but affiliated with the medical center--will also have offices within the medical center.
Physicians, nurses, physician’s assistants, residents, and attending physicians makeup the clinical staff of an academic medical center.
Medical center accreditation is not required, but most centers work voluntarily toward accreditation because it represents higher standards of healthcare quality and patient safety.
