Scott's Upholstery Shop
I have had Gary do several pieces for me. They look even better than when purchased new. Gary is a meticulous professional, and it shows well in the way he will fashion your upholstery needs. I have tried others in this area but ONLY before I saw Gary's work. Prices are reasonable, his work is awesome, completes as promised, he is a nice guy----what else could you ask for!!
Tips & Advices
Some professional contractors offer a warranty on their refinishing work. Additionally some brands of paint offer a warranty. Many cabinet manufacturers and cabinet refacing specialists offer a lifetime warranty on their cabinetry, which includes refinishing as needed. Homeowners should check to see if such a warranty covers your cabinets before planning/budgeting your refinishing project.
Cabinet refinishing is not a temporary fix. It is a semi-permanent restoration which should last for years if done well.
Refinishing is not different than painting the cabinets. Refinishing is the term for either repainting or staining cabinets. Refacing is the term for installing new veneers and doors.
Yes, cabinets need to be emptied during refinishing. It is also recommended you clear everything from the countertops, remove the doors and drawers from the cabinets, and unscrew all the hardware.
Any color can be considered for refinishing cabinets, but the trend these days is to put a lighter color on darker original cabinetry to brighten up the room. White is the standard color choices, while variations on beige and gray are also very widely used. However, design publications showcase unexpected hues like aqua blue, green and yellow--sometimes used as an accent or “pop of color” in just a couple selected panels.
