First of all the staff is very unprofessional! I've been taking my son there for 10 yrs and my daughter for 5. I have dealt with their lack of professionalism but this past time put me over the edge! They were laughing and goofing off about some guy who likes one of them and made wait to fill out paperwork till they were done giggling. Then the dental hygienist was rude and snobby just like she always is. Once we were escorted to the back and the dentist came in he refused to acknowledge me being in the room! My daughter is very afraid because of a past incident with another dentist that also practices at Kool Smiles. This experience only made it worse. She started getting upset and he told her that he would make me leave the room. After the second time trying to get the plastic piece that holds their mouth open he gave and told the girl in the room with us that my daughter will have to be sedated Never once did he discuss this with me or explained to me why he couldn't just do his job. Needless to say I will be finding another dentist to take my children to!

I am one of those people who had never really had the most positive experience at the dentist's office. I had years in-between visits and because of that usually need a good bit of work done. My initial visit to Dr. Arnold was one of these necessary near-emergency visits. I saw plenty of great reviews and so decided to take the plunge with Him..I am oh so happy I did. Never before have I had such carefree experiences at the dentist's office (and I've had plenty of significant work done). From my first visit to my most recent one I've had great experiences. Most of my interactions have been with Dr. Arnold.. He is wonderfully amazing, kind, and informative. Never have I left an appointment with them feeling concerned about an upcoming procedure or concerned about post-procedural care. With the most BEAUTIFUL office and LOVELY staff, you'll be taken care of from entrance to exit. Give 'em a try!

I have this great story to tell you. My husband use to snore very loudly every evening after several hours of sleep. It would wake me up and I would have to hit him in the back since his back was turned towards me. 15 or 20 minutes later here we go again. He would start snoring and I would hit him again until he turned over on his front and then finally peace and quiet. My husband was about to be banished to the sofa.I talked with Dr. Swords and he recommended that my husband get a Silent Nite snore guard. After some coaxing, my husband agreed to get the snore guard.it took about 2-3 weeks to get and when it finally arrived I was so excited. He used It the first night and what a difference.Over the next couple of week, using different bands we came up with a truly silent night.Thank you Dr. Swords and your great Staff.Connie L.

I bring my son for emergency because he was in so much pain. The DA she was the really friendly who assist us at first. When we get to the room they treat me and my son with respect not until the dentist came in with attitude. She just not smiling at all. I keep calm the whole time for my son's sake. In short please next time be nice to all patient who come and go. We want are children to feel better and feel not scared to go to dentist. But for my son's experience I don't think it's gonna be easy for me. I just hope if you get the job as a dentist you should be nice and caring specially for kids. They need a dentist who keep smiling and give them heads up its not gonna be hurt or its ok. But yeah thanks anyway.

Went to my first cleaning with Dr. Swords today. People (myself included) generally dislike trips to the dentist, but I must say that the doctor and staff executed their tasks with professionalism, timeliness, and expert precision. Dr. Swords is what you would expect of a Southern Gentleman, and he sets the example for his staff on providing outstanding customer service and home-style southern hospitality. My much needed cleaning was thankfully quick and painless, and I'll be going to him for as long as I stay in Columbus. I'd recommend him to anyone and to you Dr. Swords...I wish you a speedy recovery from your knee surgery so that you can go back to playing tennis on your off-time. War Eagle!

Playground once again was closed this has happened last 3 visits. Its hard to explain ro a 3 year old. Instead of blocking with chairs that 5 or 6 kids moved including my own close it off better. The hygienist Beth usually cleans my daughter s teeth with zero problems and remembers she is 3 not 10 where a kid would sit still. Instead of trying to reassure my daughter everything was ok, they bring 3 people to hold her down as she is crying from being scared. Also im not really confident they cleaned all of her teeth it seemed since she was moving around they rushed to get her out. If Beth is no longer there we will NOT come back.

Ham, Jae, DDS
Dr. Jae Ham is the most honest and compassionate dentist I know. My family has been going to Dr. Ham for over 7 years for dental works. She always does a thorough exam and has always explained to us in full detail with x-rays and diagnosis. She has the integrity to tell me whether the dental procedures are necessary with pros and cons. From my experience. she has always welcomed second opinions from other dentists. One time, she even found a lump in my neck and told me to go see a medical doctor which led to early detection of a cyst. Thank you Dr. Ham!

Great visit with my 14 yr old daughter! They saw us fairly promptly, especially when compared to wait times we've had at other providers. The staff was super-friendly, knowledgeable, professional, & helpful. They set her up for a tooth extraction and orthodontics consult, & even set her future cleaning appointment, making sure all of the appointments were convenient for me. They were happy to accommodate my work schedule & still got her scheduled to come back within a few weeks. I'm very glad I chose them - would highly recommend them to any parent.

I would have given a 5 for overall but I can't. The wait time is horrible. I love my daughter Orthodontist Dr. Stewart. He's very caring and professional and take time to explain to the parent as well as the child the importance of brushing and flossing. He show them the correct way to floss between the braces. His staff is amazing and friendly and try and make it easy for working parents to bring their kids. The wait time for appointments once you are there need to be a little quicker.

Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
