Daves Transmission
Initially replaced my entire transmission with a refurbished transmission. The next day my AC goes out and I take my car into another shop to have it looked at. These "mechanics" at Dave's didn't even connect the hoses back properly when putting everything back together, so there was an o-ring in the line that caused my AC to go out--$250 extra dollars spent because they didn't do their job correctly. Three months later (if that) my car breaks down again. Luckily, they upheld their warranty and paid to have it towed to their shop since the transmission caused the break down. Got my car back the second time, red mechanic's rags were left in the passenger foot and seat. I had left a full pack of cigarettes in the door, all were gone but 5. I'm also now missing the trailer hitch and ball that I keep in the very back of my SUV. I am not at all impressed with this shop or their staff. The only reason they even get 1 star is for upholding their 3 year/unlimited mile warranty, which I hopefully won't have to use again.

we have been doing business with auto zone for over 25 years, they were called auto shak back then. I have spent over a million dollars over the years, we are a professional repair shop. the last 4 years have been horrible, I have had to contact corporate offices multiple times. things would get better for a little while. then go back to being worse. in my opinion since the new district mgr and area mgr took over 2 yrs ago these stores have lost their customer service and top customer service.

First car was not good, they let us get another one but didn't take the price of the other car off. It wasn't our fault they sold us bad car. The car now is alot better and classier. But, they need to respect and treat their employees like they should be treated and respect their efforts and hard work and dedication and they don't do that like they should. They need all their commissions not some of it or part of it. If they sell cars, give them what they supposed to have. Somebody pocketing money, their employees not being paid fairly. It's ashamed. I have too many friends that's talking about this. The way these hard working men are being paid is unfair for the way they are dedicated.

I was driving from Kiawah S.C. home to Atlanta GA Tuesday evening the 28th when my car broke down near this store. I was with my teenaged son and his friend. I went in and was greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable, extremely helpful man named Kenny. He helped us tremendously, put us in touch with someone who could do the fairly lengthy repair and I cannot say enough about how safe I felt and how wonderful Kenny was! GREAT business, GREAT help!!!

Terrible customer service in the automotive department, always making excuses, always understaffed.
Tips & Advices
Depending on the part and its overall quality, a good amount of money can be saved by purchasing aftermarket parts versus OEM parts. But aftermarket parts that are low in price might also be lower in quality and could do more harm than good to your car, or they may need to be replaced more frequently than a more expensive counterpart. This could lead to saving some money in the short term, but spending more than anticipated in the long term.
The type of tires being purchased is the most significant determinant of their price. SUV tires are more costly than average car tires. And high-performance tires are more costly than economy grade tires. On average, standard tires for an average-sized vehicle are around $100 per tire. Standard tires for an SUV are around $150 and pick-up truck tires are about $200 on average. Some dealers offer discounts if purchasing more than one tire.
Car inspections typically take about an hour. However the wait time can be longer depending on how busy the shop is. Call ahead for an appointment to avoid long wait times.
Depending on the manufacturer, certain aftermarket parts can be just as reliable as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. But one item within a vehicle, like oil filters for instance, could have multiple manufacturers and there could be inconsistencies in quality among them.
Costs of replacing a windshield can vary greatly depending on a variety of factors:
  • Vehicle make and model
  • How much of the cost insurance will cover
  • Whether the windshield installers come to your location or you bring the vehicle to them
  • Standard service costs of the windshield installers
Generally, newer and higher-end vehicles cost more to have their windshields replaced because certain manufacturers use modified or proprietary glass types.
