Woodtech Fencing
I contacted Woodtech Fencing to get a quote for our home, Mr. Jay showed up when he said he would, offered options, answered questions and even modified the plan a couple of times because I changed my mind. The project started on time, finished on time and there were no bad surprises. The finished product is stunning and we could not be more pleased with the workmanship, professionalism and integrity of Woodtech Fencing. Another added bonus, our Real Estate agent stopped by shortly after the fence was installed, was shocked by the difference it made to the property and told us our property value increased well above double the cost of the fence ! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND !

We paid them to build a ground cover deck for us, using my wood and supplies. Paid 1/2 upfront. There was no deadline on our end. They promised a "work of art" with benches around the 2 Magnolia trees we have in the front of the house. Had some misgivings due to the constant harping on the money. Never gave an equipment list or plan for the design. The platform looked strong, but they had not completed it before we went out of town for the weekend. They had been working on it for over a week at this point. It did not matter to us that it was taking a while. We started getting calls friday afternoon demanding payment, although they were not close to finished. My son did reimburse them for some nails they had bought that day. My son and daughter warned us of the kind of work they had been doing while we were gone. They tended to arrive at 10 am, Leave for breakfast, leave again at lunchfor almost 2 hrs, and cut out between 4 and 5 each day. They hired a guy to work by himself while they worked somewhere else supposedly. This was actually the best work they did on the plaform. We came back and they still had not finished. They had to come back on Monday to finish. They still had some thing to finish when they came back at 9 pm on Monday night demanding payment. I would not pay them until they finished. They half assed it to finish. I paid them. They have not been back to fix any of the problems with their work I have contacted them several times.. They were referred to us by a friend who talked to them before offering them the estimate opportunity. My wife is irate over their idea of benches. I guess I should also say that the project is not square and we have 2 corners that have boards that are not fully attached to anything. We also had a 4x4 post cemented in place with nothing attached to it. I would not recommend them to build a bird house after this.
Tips & Advices
Homeowners should work with a fencing contractor who is certified by or a member of one or more trade organizations, including American Fence Association or the North American Fence Contractors Association.
If a contractor requires an immediate decision, asks you to pay cash or doesn't provide an estimate.
  • Ask for portfolio examples
  • What's their reputation?
  • Is the work guaranteed?
  • Is there a warranty?
With exposure to the sun and the elements, wood fences are prone to cracking, warping and cupping. homeowners are encouraged to clean, seal and stain their fence at least every three years. Clean the fence with a specially formulated cleaner. After 15 to 20 minutes, use a pressure washer to remove any mold, mildew and debris from the fence. Then seal and stain the fence to protect it. An oil stain is recommended, as it penetrates the material and can maintain its condition for years.
Homeowners may use soap and water to clean off these materials, but they generally don't require much more than that. These options can be good for those that want a sturdy but low-touch fence.
