AC Wiring LLC
We have had the WORST experience with Withrow Electric while remodeling our house. Sloppy/lazy workmanship, rude and childish communication, poorest customer service I have ever received; we will never call their company again. AC Wiring, on the other hand, has been excellent! Affordable, honest, professional, high quality workmanship, above and beyond customer service. He didn't even tear up our walls when running new line!?! When you need electrical work completed well, Aaron is the man to call.

Aaron came to our house found the voltage was too high coming from the electric pole and explained that's why we had fried 2 dryers. 20 minutes later the elec. co. is there fixed the voltage and 10 mins later they called and offered to replace our dryer. We would have never been able to do this ourselves (who knows this stuff?) - talk about going the extra mile!! I highly recommend Aaron, reasonable hourly rates, fast, professional. Thank you Aaron for taking care of us.

Customer testimonials By the way, I just had to tell you again how pleased we are with Aaron's work! He did a fabulous job, fixed two problems we had and was still in and out in an hour. Plus, his rate is actually affordable. For one of the issues he fixed for us we had been quoted twice what he charged us for both issues. I was amazed! We will definitely be keeping him on our speed dial for the future. Thank you so much for sharing his contact info! David ‎ - Aug 6, 2010 Excellent Service Recently I had an electrical problem involving a blown fuse and 120V AC showing up on the faucet in the kitchen sink. I tried troubleshooting the problem myself but decided that it was going be more complicated than I thought. I called AC Wiring (Mr. Clapp) and he made arrangements to come about 2 hours later. He arrived on schedule and after some significant troubleshooting tracked the problem to an obscure wire that had been pinched under a clamp in a junction box. He patiently answered my questions as he worked, so I learned a lot in the process. The problem was solved within an hour. His rate was extremely reasonable. Based on my experience, I have no hesitation in giving him a 5 star rating and recommending him to other customers. Daniel ‎ - Jan 7, 2010 Excellent apartment service I had a short in my apartment which caused the power to go out in my living room and bathroom. I tried to get my landlord to fix the problem for 4 days, but he was unresponsive. Finally I decided to call an electrician myself and deduct the cost from my next month's rent. Aaron came to my apartment within 15 minutes of making the call to him, and quickly fixed the problem perfectly. I'm very appreciative and recommend him to anyone who is having electircal issues.
Tips & Advices
Keep the following tips in mind:
  • Do not operate any electrical equipment while sitting or standing in water.
  • Don't overload extension cords or surge protectors.
  • Put caps on your electrical outlets if you have small children.
  • Call an electrician if you notice your sockets or switches are warm to the touch, discolored or if they make noise.
  • Keep electrical cords away from stoves, ovens and other sources of heat.
  • Do not use an appliance that has a frayed cord.
  • Do not staple extension cords into place or cover them with carpets or furniture.
  • When using extension cords, make sure to unwrap them before plugging them in.
  • Don't overuse extension cords. Have an electrician install extra outlets if you need a power source closer to you.
  • Only use light bulbs with the correct wattage for your lamps and light fixtures.
  • Contact a licensed electrician if you frequently blow fuses, since this can be a sign of an electrical wiring problem.
  • Have an electrician look at your fuse box to ensure you have the right size fuses and circuit breakers. The wrong size fuse or breaker can be a fire hazard.
  • If you have fault circuit interrupters installed in your electrical panel, make sure you test them at least once a month by turning them on and off.
It can cost from $40-$100 an hour depending on the job. This does not include additional costs for parts or trip fees. Make sure to ask in advance what they charge for or if they will provide a free quote.
In order to become a full-fledged professional, a person must undergo an apprenticeship with master and journeyman electricians. An apprentice needs 8,000 hours of practical work before graduating to the journeyman level. If an apprentice reaches journeyman status, he or she can complete most electrical work, but cannot design it until completing more testing along with 2,000 more on-the-job hours.
Yes. While all electricians need a license, not all of them do the same types of jobs.
  • Outside: These types of electricians work outdoors on electrical lines that connect to power plants.
  • Inside: Inside experts typically focus on commercial and industrial buildings that require a lot of power.
  • Residential: Residential electricians work with low-voltage systems and wiring to install fuse boxes and light fixtures.
Watch out for contractors that greatly underbid other electricians. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Also, always remember to get the estimate in writing before settling on a company.
