Patient First - Columbia
I was on vacation in Williamsburg, Va and developed what. I thoughthought was a probable tooth abscess.. We left our vacation which was OK to race down to my in network patient 1st..I could not decide on the hospital ER versus 'Patient First" (PF) .I chose PF ..the receptionist was nice and let me keep my place in line when I had to run to the bathroom ..The nurse and the phlebotomist were Very nice too when they took my wt and drew blood ( I am not and easy stick) .Then there was the MD ..she was nice but did not examine or palpate the area ..I have never had a doctor assess the area that is affected..I asked her about it and she said she could see my abscess in plain assessment needed then instructed me to go to my dentist 1st thing in the am...also she put on the paperwork I needed to follow up with my primary who was already in the system not my dentist..I asked her about the the error on the paperwork and was told that is usually what there system does.. I was very confused I felt untreated , rushed, and under valued as a patient / slashed customer then I understood.. I looked up at the clock and they were closing ..Now I wish I had gone to the ED.....boohoo

Smile Savers Dentistry
I was very scared of all dentist work at first. But after coming in to Smile Savers Dentistry and talking to the dentist about what he was going to do he put my mind at ease. As Dr. Stewart was doing all the work, he talked to me and explained what he was doing.I have spent many years and had countless experiences being terrified at other dentist offices but everyone is so wonderful and caring at this office. I expected pain and didn't feel any at all. It all went by very fast as well and I will be back.I would tell anyone who is scared as I was to come in and have a very pleasant dental visit from the staff to the dentist. They are the best I have come across to date!!

Dobbin Dental Suite
I started visiting Dobbin Dental because of a friends referral, and it's close to where I live. The technicians were always kind and knowledgeable. The dentists seemed to always suggest that I have my childrens baby teeth filled, which I don't plan on doing. And one dentist even did my exam without gloves on, I didn't notice until he was done. Another issue is how large the office is, which makes it difficult to get a timely appointment, and there's no privacy because the exam rooms are only divided by a half wall. Also, if they decide you've missed or cancelled to many appointments, they ban you from returning to their offices without warning.

Precision Dentistry
Duane "No Pain" Archer has always provided me with wonderful service and most important he fixed my teeth. His staff is professional and kind and the people I've seen in the waiting room have had great things to say as well. He's worked with me because I hadn't been to the dentist in years on payment plans, etc and given me good advice on how to improve my health and it's working. I've referred a few coworkers who also have had similar experiences to mine. Try him out he's a great dentist. Not sure why the other person had a bad experience but my comments are truthful and not exaggerated in any way.

Smile Savers Dentistry
What can I say ... Smile Savers is the best! I was in the worst pain since the time I called Smile Savers. They were so pleasant and got me right in to see Dr. Stewart. Once I arrived, the staff was friendly and everything was explained to me. Because of my last experience with another dentist, I waited before coming to the dentist about my pain. After my procedure with Kelly and Dr. Stewart I was eager to make my follow-up appointment. I look forward to a growing relationship with Smile Savers.

Very clean and nice office. Dr Gol and his staff were very nice and helpful. Was easy to make an appointment afterwards without an unreasonable wait. When I had tooth pain I was able to get an emergency appointment very quickly and was able to get my tooth repaired before it got very bad! I have referred my family to the office and they have all been very happy as well!

Patient First - Columbia
Fantastic experience. Went there for a problem with a vein in my ankle. The treated it, explained everything to my satisfaction and did so in a courteous and professional manner. Went back to day for an annual physical and it was the easiest and best physical I have ever had. Top drawer!!!

Had a wonderful experience with Dr Gol and his staff. They were very accommodating. The assistant took the xrays and then I got the cleaning and a small filling done by Dr Gol. I grind my teeth and chipped a tooth and was glad to be able to get it all done the same day.

Hadn't been to a dentist in several years. All of the staff is friendly and great at making you feel at ease - alleviating the FEAR of going to the dentist. Very thorough in following up on their patients. Will certainly continue on with the routine dental care!
Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
