Affordable Tree and Shrub Experts
After a dark and stormy night, three of my blue spruce were horizontal. I wasn't a client of Affordable Tree and Shrub Experts, but seeing him already at work on my neighbor's property, I took a chance and asked if he could take on some more work. As unlucky as I had been to lose my trees, I was most fortunate that Steve said, "I'll come take a look." Knowledgeable. Professional. Organized. Steve explained, exactly, what needed to be done and when it would be done. Everything was carried out in the manner and within the time frame he had described. Steve isn't just a guy with a chainsaw and a truck. He's an arborist, Licensed and insured. He plants, prunes, diagnoses and does disease prevention spraying. On that painful Monday morning with wind gusts of 100 mph still bombarding the neighborhood, Steve was part psychologist and part triage doctor as well as an arborist. He had responded to my neighbor's early morning call to "take a look" at a downed blue spruce. On arrival he immediately identified the greater risk of the still-standing spruce with roots extending beneath the porch foundation. Members of his team were redirected to take the tree down, before it caused structural damage to the house. All done with the calmness of a triage doc. I look forward to working with Affordable tree and Shrub Experts in the future.

Affordable Tree and Shrub Experts
I lost the 60-year old blue spruce in my front yard in the January 2017 wind storm. It was a sad day for me, but I was lucky enough to entrust the clean up to Affordable Tree and Shrub Service. My experience with the company was thoroughly satisfactory. They showed up when they said they would; did what they said they would; accomplished a very large job with exceptional care and attention to detail; and did all of this for a reasonable price. In fact, their price, which was more than competitive with all other bids, included grinding the stump - the others did not. They cut and stacked wood for the fireplace and cleaned up the yard, sidewalk, and street so that all vestiges of the tree were removed. First rate work. I highly recommend this company and will call on them for any future services required to maintain my trees and shrubs.

Affordable Tree and Shrub Experts
Over the years I have used several tree care services. Affordable Tree and Shrub was recommended by the tree expert who had taken good care my trees for more than ten years. He was retiring and wanted me to be in good hands. His recommendation was good enough for me. When my daughter was born, in 1980, I planted a rare, antique apple tree in her honor. Unfortunately, the tree has fire blight. Rather than cut it down, Steve, of Affordable Tree, pruned it back and is going to save it. He does wonderful work. My daughter has always loved that tree and also enjoys Halloween. Each Halloween I hang about eighty plastic Jack-O-Lanterns on the tree. Thanks to Affordable Tree, the apple tree will bring continue to bring joy and apples.

Affordable Tree and Shrub Experts
I have used Steve for several years before he started his own business. Lost track of him for a couple of years. Glad he stopped by and dropped off his card. Have 60+ year old trees that drop a lot of dead branches when the wind blows. He trimmed them back in Sept 16. A lot less branches drop. Had a big branch down and one hanging with the Jan 2017 wind storm. Even though he was extremely business, he was out the next morning to take care to the issue. He has always been under priced from quotes I have gotten from other tree services. Highly recommend his services.

Integrated Lawn & Tree Care
We just started using Integrated Lawn and Tree a few months ago! Everyone that I have spoken with incuding Ryan, "which I think is the owner" ? is very professional and personable. He explains everything in detail, so you completely understand. He sent me an email with a price breakdown so that I could pick which plan worked best for me. Our grass is already greener after our first fertilization and aeration a few weeks ago!

A-Class Tree Service
We had a great experience using A-Class Tree Service. Received a prompt, reasonable estimate for taking down a huge cottonwood tree in a small backyard. The guys were very professional and cleaned up the area of all debris. We have recommended them to neighbors who were greatly entertained and awed watching the process of removal. We will use them again for our tree needs. Thanks guys for doing such a wonderful job.

Steve and his crew--including an amazing tree-climber-- were awesome! It's clear that Steve is a master arborist with a solid background in this business. They cut down a HUGE spruce that was leaning too far towards my house--they were professional, knowledgable, and affordable. I would highly recommend this company--they know what they are doing!

James Property Services
James and his guys not only gave me a fair price, but they showed up on time and did a great job removing my massive junipers. The project was more than me and my son could handle, and I was glad to have them. I will hire them again. Thanks, Steve-

Tips & Advices
Do your due diligence and always ask for proof of insurance and certification before agreeing to any work. You will also want to be on the lookout for telltale signs of scams and be cautious of any company that:
  • Will not provide you with a certificate of their insurance policy or only has general liability coverage
  • Declines to give you a written estimate for the job
  • Gives you bids that either seem very low or very high
  • Contacted you out of the blue to see if you needed their services
  • Has complaints against it from business bureaus in your area
  • Asks for payment before starting work
  • Doesn't have a fixed physical address
Tree service companies are also great places to get your wood if you happen to have a fireplace. Many tree businesses offer free delivery and stacking of hardwoods, such as maple or birch. These can make for the best firewood because they burn slowly and don't produce as much smoke as other types.
If you want to add to the greenery in your yard but you're concerned about the right species to plant or where to put it on your property, seek the advice of an arborist.
If a storm hits and damages your residence, a tree service professional is usually on your list of people to call for help after first responders and your insurer. A professional service can completely remove a tree or just prune and saw off its branches if a storm damages a tree. After sawing or destroying the tree, professionals can then remove any of the dangerous debris from your yard by hauling it off.
Some bugs burrow through the bark and damage hardwood and softwood trees. Depending on the species of trees in your yard and the region of the country you live in, aphids, the infamous emerald ash borer or other pests could destroy your healthy trees.
