Lifetime Dental Colorado
I have been a regular patient of Dr. Blackley since 1989 and can attest to the quality of dental care he has provided for me for the past 23 years. Through his professional experience and current knowledge of modern dentistry, he has maintained my teeth and gums in a continuously healthy state through an effective preventive care program. His treatments for my occasional dental issues are thorough and resolve the problem right the first time. Dr. Blackley is meticulous in his approach to his patient's dental care and provides them with all possible options for treatment. He never pressures you, unlike some other dental professionals, into an expensive treatment if a more affordable option does the job just as well. I highly recommend Dr. Blackley and Lifetime Dental to anyone seeking quality dental care from a professional who is skilled and knowledgeable in dentistry and puts your dental health and happiness above all else.

Lifetime Dental Colorado
Dr. Blackley has been my dentist for as long as I can remember, all the way from elementary school to college where I made 200 mile round trips for my check-ups. When I finally got a new job and my own health insurance, I reluctantly went to a new dentist. I was dazzled by the bright shiny, new technology employed by this dentist, but I was rather shocked when he told me I had five cavities- four between the teeth and one on top of a tooth. I went to Dr. Blackley for a second opinion who confirmed my teeth were perfectly healthy, and that in fact this new dentist would have caused far more damage fixing the "cavities". Even though I will be paying out of pocket, Dr. Blackley will continue to be my dentist for as long as possible. Don't be fooled by digital X-rays or the latest and greatest technology, there is no substitute for honesty or trust in your dentist!

Lasting Impressions Dental Care
We left our dentist because we were VERY unhappy with how we were treated. We live in the Black Forest area and simply picked our dentist because of close proximity(not a reason to choose a dentist). I asked several friends who they would suggest as a dentist for us and got a couple leading us here. SO glad that they did. I have an unusually large family and knew we would be there quite a bit with maintenance alone. Every visit has been a pleasure and who can say that 100% of the time about going to the dentist! If you are looking, stop and go to Lasting Impressions and you will LOVE Dr. Platt and his wonderful team. I hope to never have another dentist again. We are here to stay.

Lifetime Dental Colorado
It has been a great pleasure being able to go to Lifetime Dental for the last 16 years, and I have always enjoyed not only the quality of the procedure and the work they do, but the quality of the people as well. Everytime I go in, I know that I will be greeted with smiling faces, ready to ask me how I've been and for Kim, whether or not I have a girlfriend yet. I don't know if I'll ever want to have another dentist, and if I stay remotely close to Colorado, I will invest my family and children's time in Lifetime Dental as well.

Lifetime Dental Colorado
I have been going to Lifetime Dental for over 10 years. As much as I dislike going to the dentist, I have always had a good experience with them. Friendly receptionist and great technicians that take extra time and effort to do a thorough cleaning. Dr. Blackley has never performed any dental work on me that wasn't necessary. Dr. Blackley’s assistant does a great job making me feel well taken care of and comfortable. I feel like family whenever go there and would recommend their services to everyone!!

I love going to Dr Platts office... Everyone is so caring and helpful and you can feel that everyone wants to ensure you have a great experience and that your mouth is as healthy as it can be. I feel confident that when I am there I will not have unnecisary work done just so they can make more money, but I also know they will treat me as they would a member of their family in making sure the things that most need to be done are done!

Lasting Impressions Dental Care
My 14 year old son had to go get his teeth cleaned without me. After the appointment when I asked him how it went, he was able to tell me what was said and when to schedule the next appointment. He said it was "No big deal" to go alone. It is nice to have a dentist office where my children feel comfortable even without me! Also nice that they talked to my son with the information that effects him. Thanks Lasting Impressions!

Everyone is happy from reception to the dentist. It's nice not hear talking about other patients, staff, or staff family matters during my appointment. The staff remember little things about my and ask how things are going. All these little things can make a sometimes unpleasant event not so bad. Thanks for being there when I need you.

Everyone in the office always makes me feel cared for, and when they worked on me today, it was no different. Jody is very good at her work and I trust her completely. I am a terrible chicken, but this office has helped me be braver and I appreciate it so much. I would not THINK of going to another Dental office!
Tips & Advices
Depending on the circumstances, there might not be a safe or effective alternative to dental implants that would not impact your health and quality of life. This is because healthy teeth are essential for maintaining a balanced diet and proper nutrition. In the case of a single tooth damaged from a cavity or infection, a dentist might opt to perform a root canal procedure to remove the infection while preserving the tooth itself. However, this operation often still requires replacing the top of the tooth with an implant known as a crown. In general, the best alternative to implants is preventing the need for them through proper oral hygiene. Regular brushing and flossing helps prevent tooth decay that can eventually lead to loss of teeth and other dental problems.
Start by looking into what is and is not covered under your health or dental insurance to understand and estimate costs. Then work with your primary dental care provider to understand treatment options and get recommendations for practitioners. You may also research oral and maxillofacial practices online.
Coverage of implant procedures varies depending on the specifics of your health or dental insurance. It may also depend on whether or not the implants are considered medically necessary as opposed to being an elective or cosmetic procedure. If you are a member of a Medicare health plan, most elective dental procedures are not covered. Medicare may cover some costs for procedures that involve dental surgery, like reconstruction of the jaw following an accidental injury or emergency surgery. Check with your health plan provider for information on how dental implant services are covered.
Full recovery from an implant procedure can take several weeks or months. Assuming the surgery is completed without any serious complications, patients are usually sent home within a day to recover. For the first day or two after surgery, patients are advised not to disturb the implant site or perform any kind of strenuous physical labor. Gauze pads will need to be periodically replaced to control bleeding for the first day or two. Pain medication to reduce discomfort and swelling is also prescribed for at least the first two weeks. Doctors will advise patients to avoid hard food, hot food or liquid, or use of a straw for the first days after the procedure. The best foods are purees and soups that require minimal chewing and can be eaten with a spoon. Patients may also need to rinse implant sites for a few days after surgery. Follow-up appointments within the first few weeks are often required to ensure recovery is progressing.
Those who perform dental implant procedures are known as oral and maxillofacial surgeons. These physicians are generally certified as a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) as well as one or more special degrees for dental surgery or osteopathic medicine. Becoming a dental surgeon requires at least 12 years of academic and professional training in the United States, and requires certification with the state medical board. A general dentist with specific training in implantology can perform implant surgery, as well as certain specialists:
  • Prosthodontist – specializes in the restoration and replacement of teeth
  • Oral and maxillofacial surgeon – specializes in dental surgery
  • Periodontist – specializes in periodontal (gum) disease
