Trendzy Nails
I think the five-star reviews of this place must have been written by the employees to trick people into thinking this was a classy establishment. While its not terrible, it's certainly not what I look for in a nail salon and definitely not worth the price. I was looking for a place closer to home since I live in fountain, and found this one in YP with seemingly great reviews. When I walked in the door, my immediate thought was that the place was tiny, cramped, and dirty-looking. All the posters in the windows are years old and faded, the windows themselves are dirty, the floor was dirty, the techs' tables were cluttered with crap...to make it worse, even though I was the only one there, they employees were all just lounging around watching a movie (one was even sleeping, and remained asleep in a pedicure chair the whole time I was there!) and didn't bother to get up and greet me. They just asked what I wanted. I said gel polish, which was listed as $20 on the price sheet by the door. I thought ok, even if the service isn't great, that's ten bucks cheaper than what I usually pay for it. Still kind of grossed out by the look of the place, I go sit down with my tech. While my nails look fine, they certainly don't pamper you here or give you the quality of service that other salons do. He didn't soak my cuticles or even bother to trim them (and I have horrible cuticles), he just dove right in with the file and grinder. I should also mention, there is NO SINK in this place! So you can't wash your hands, they just blow the nail dust off with a can of air. I'm glad he didn't trim my cuticles because his tools were in a plastic pencil box and had been used on who knows how many people without being cleaned (the salon I normally go to, Skyline Nails, charges you $1 but they open a fresh, sanitary pack of tools for every person, which I love). He kept giving me crap about my color choice (if I want black, don't harass me or keep asking me why I want black). When he was done, he did massage my hands with lotion, and then charged me $30 ($10 more than the price listed on the sign). I didn't bother to ask about it because a) that's the same price I pay elsewhere, so no real loss I guess and b) I kind of just wanted to leave. I was wholly unimpressed with this place and will not be going back. The only nice thing they do is give you a punch card that entitles you to some money off after ten visits, but I have no desire to go back there one more time, let alone ten.

Teresa Lee Photography
I was so disappointed :(. I really wanted to have something positive to say but unfortunately do not. I've tried to hold this comment in, but just simply cannot. I got pictures made in December because my husband and I had never had professional pictures done, after much research, I found that Teresa came highly recommended and was voted the best. When my husband and I were preparing for our pictures, we barely received any guidance to our poses and expressions, I previously expressed we were unsure of what to do and would appreciate any criticism or guidance, but unfortunately were talked to the whole time about family matters and her pets, don't get me wrong Teresa is an absolute sweetheart, but I could tell her mind was elsewhere the entire shoot which made me feel bad for her because I could tell she was really missing her family. Maybe she was just having an off day, and I can understand that we all do, but I just expected more because I was ecstatic to finally have some nice pictures taken of my husband and I. After looking at our proofs, I ended up only purchasing a few because I wasn't as satisfied as I anticipated. I hate that I had this experience but felt the need to share. If you've never had pictures made, please be sure you express that to her. Also it took a very long to get our proofs, we were told to allow 2 weeks it took 4 and 1/2. Then we ordered a disk and I thought it would take a week tops and it took 3, when I contacted her, it was sent but most have been lost in the mail. The while experience just wasn't comfortable and I wished I'd had a better experience and pictures because I've been her work and it's beautiful, but I just personally was dissatisfied :/

Styles Salon
After receiving a terrible haircut and color job for well over $200 at one of the most expensive, overly franchised salons in Colorado Springs, I was mortified and I was in desperate need of a color correction and fix for my cut. I frantically did an internet search for any other salon that seemed reputable, and I'm so relieved that I found Styles Salon. I saw Stephanie, and she got me in right away. She took her time to analyze what the previous stylist had screwed up, asked me plenty of questions about my hair and how I style it, and really took her time to come up with a plan to fix my hair. I was so happy with Stephanie's knowledge, patience, professionalism and attention to detail. I felt safe in her hands. She fixed the botched haircut- it's super cute! And the color is worlds better than it was when I walked in. I'm so glad I've found a stylist in the Springs that I can count on to do a great job. I highly recommend this salon. Everyone there seemed knowledgeable, patient, attentive, and professional, and their prices are reasonable for a job well done.

Trendzy Nails
They are great! They have great customer service and their work is top notch. I use the Gel for my nails and they last for at least 3+ weeks. It is a down to earth place where you feel welcome to come. The service is fast, they are even entertaining with music and comedy. I have been to the stuck up joint Amy's and will never go back. I also used to go to Nail's First and had Jenny but I always had to make an appointment with her. There are times when I just want to walk in, get my nails done and be out. I recommend Trendzy Nails and I will remain a loyal customer. Speaking of Loyal, they have a punch card called the Loyal Card so after 10 punches you get 10 bucks off. Awesome. Genise

Executive Lawn Care
These guys were Fantastic! They came out and gave me a free estimate within 48 hours of my call, gave me extremely fair prices, even for my clean up which was a real mess. I signed up with them for my fall clean up and they got it done within a week and on the date I requested. They jumped through hoops to get there on the day that I wanted and they did a fabulous job. I am DEFINITELY going to use them for all my lawn care needs in 2014 And they gave me a prepaid program for signing up for the season. Thank you Executive Lawn Care!!!

Cost Cutters
My husband has been going to Mona for years. My stylist retired and I went all over town on everyone's suggestion as to who was the best. I finally tried Mona at my husbands 100th request. I wish I would have listened way sooner!!! Mona is excellent! She listens, explains what and why she would do a cut and then asks if it's what I wan . She is an expert with the scissors and fun to talk with. She remembers you each time. I reccomend Mona and Cost Cutters imperically! Plus the coupons are a bonus!

Century Chem-Dry
Dave Traenkle, the owner is running an amazing business. I had an area rug that was inexpensive but was passed down from my father. It was in need of cleaning and some repair. Dave and his team partnered with a carpet restoration service to get it fixed and then thoroughly, yet gently cleaned it to extend the life of the carpet. Amazing service and work. I highly recommend Dave and his team at Century ChemDry if you are looking to get your carpets or area rugs cleaned in an effective and safe manner.

CND Nails & Spa
This was a nice salon and very clean. The reason I gave it 3 stars was because of the technician who did my nails. I believe his name is Tom and I think either he does not have a lot of experience doing pink and white nails or perhaps he was nervous but I like to wear my nails very short and he cut 4 of my fingers underneath the nail. This was pretty painful for about 5 days after getting my nails done. I will try this place again but I will not go to Tom again.

Very friendly, really listened to me about what I wanted and all the gals really seemed like they wanted to take care of my every whim! Would definitely refer any of these girls to anyone! p.s I cant believe the artwork that I witnessed being created on a girls fingernails while I was there.. WOW! is all I can say!
Tips & Advices
Irrigation system advantages:
  • Lowers water bill and maintenance time with scheduled watering
  • Evenly distributes water
Irrigation system disadvantages:
  • Professionally installed systems cost between $3,000-$4,000 for a quarter-acre lot.
  • Some do-it-yourself systems cost up to $1,500 but are difficult to install.
  • You may need to call a professional electrician and plumber, adding $300-$600 to your project.
Some plants can stand up to the cold weather, like kale or pansies. These can be planted in the autumn or early winter. Other plants need to wait until the soil is warm and ready. Plant perennial flowers in mid-autumn or mid-spring. If you're planting from seed or sprout, you can generally find information about planting conditions on the package.
Why get artificial grass?
  • Cuts down on lawn maintenance
  • It's environmentally friendly since there‚Äôs no need to water.
  • Artificial grasses may be more attractive than real grass in drought-stricken areas.
Why stick to the real deal?
  • Artificial grass has a high upfront cost - $15 to $20 per square foot.
  • It can be difficult to install.
  • Inexpensive options might look unnatural.
  • It gets hot in the sun.
First, determine which pests you're dealing with. Mounds or tunnels indicate moles or voles. Apply castor oil to your lawn; they'll find another digging spot. Determine which bugs you have by pouring a bucket of soapy water onto the lawn. The bugs will surface so you can identify them. Milky spore and nematodes keep grubs and other bugs at bay. Insecticidal soap also works. The best way to prevent pests is with good yard maintenance. Certain bugs prefer overwatered lawns or yards with thatches. Regular mowing, watering, and dethatching discourage pests from moving in.
Fertilizer isn't always necessary, but it can keep your lawn looking lush and healthy. Use fertilizer with slow release nitrogen so it doesn't encourage weeds to grow. Keep in mind that overfertilizing can spur weed growth. However, under-fertilizing can result in weak grass, which gives weeds more space to take root.
