Even when calling ahead, the wait is long. It is worth the wait though once you sink your teeth into the cheese fries! Salads are delicious and I've never had a better steak. We drive 45 miles each way to go there.

I run a business right up the road and have many lunch meetings. Always a great experience. One of my employees when he comes over from Boston orders the Buffalo chicken salad to take back to his hotel. Every place has a bad day, but the get it right.

I posted a review on 09/02/2009In my review I said that my family and I had been going to Bob & Ron's for years and they always had the most delicious fish frys in the world. We were very disapointed recently to see that the fish did not have the same great famous flavor from Bob & Ron's.The fish had to be a different type of fish. I have to say that today my Mom and I went back to see if it was any differentThe fish were delicious just like they used to be and the place was packed.Thank you for bringing back the old Bob & Ron's fish frys.It was a memory brought back to us. Thank youDonna

Service was good, but food was BLAH and expensive! Went here cause my friend was boasted how good it was and I couldnt have been more dissapointed. I got the chicken parm for $16.95, which i though was ok until they wanted more money for a salad with your dinner. Anyway, the place had about 5 tables of 2- to 3 people in it. and half were served already. It took 45 mInutes for our food to come out of the kitchen when we didnt order appetizers. When our food did arrive all the pasta dishes had the pasta not fully cooked, not even al dente. The sauce was oily and tasted like jar sauce that had been doctored up. The chicken was dry and tasted like it had been deep fried in old fryer oil. Being an italian, it was a shock to me that the pasta was not only severely undercooked, but cheap pasta. Why would you use cheap pasta, so stupid. Do you really think people wont notice when it tastes like someone poured starch in your mouth. To make matters worse, I figured well at least I can cover the taste of the bad food with Parmesan cheese, but the waiter served it to you by sprinkling it over your food and did not leave it at the table. What a bunch of cheapos! This place cuts corners left and right to screw over thier patrons to make a buck. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

This is a fantastic restaurant that my family has visited 10 times over the last two years. It is pricey but well worth it for a special occassion. The cooking is very consistent and have found the staff to be very friendly. The cooks do a great job entertaining as they cook!

Average dining experience for a Japnese Style Sushi place. Not the best, but not the worst. Like all Japanese places, the lunch special prices are good. The only bad thing I found was that I kept getting the faint scent of sewage in my nose every so often....Better call your plumber soon guys cause somthing is rotten in Denmark! lol

My husband and I have eaten over 500 steaks at this place and it's excellent. You can smell the quality from the moment you pull into the parking lot. \r \r The Barnsider has a full menu with many choices, from chicken and pasta to supreme steaks and seafood. Yet, we get the same thing almost every time. I am a Filet Mignon with berenaise fan. My husband loves a spicy cajun style sirloin with baked scallops. I admit, I'm quite finicky about how my streak is grilled. I order it medium rare and it's consitently done correctly every time. It's never dry or overdone, nor is it cold and dark red. It's so perfect I don't need to that bernaise that comes on the side. If you like it a little more pink than red, go with medium. if you aren't sure, ask your server. The waitstaff is second to none and they will know just how to order it to suit your needs.\r \r For the first time this weekend, we ventured into appetizer land. We both like seafood and most of the appetizers are just that, except of course for tomato mozzarella and soups, which are also fantastic. We reccommend the clam chowder, and usually get that, but we were celebrating tonight, so we splurged a little and went with the Seafood Sampler for Two. It turned out to be an excellent choice. He likes shrimp and scallops. I really like clams casino and crab cakes. We both got what we wanted and for less than we would have spent each getting a full appetizer of our own!\r \r The salad bar was the next step. we've learned to watch for a break in the action, which the salad bar attendent is also doing, then we make a dash for it, so does he! In the end we get first dibs on fresh items, like lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, olives, garbanzo beans, bacon and more. This salad bar is a rarety, so if you are considering another steak house in the area, think again. This is a well stocked salad bar, frequently refreshed, having homemade dressing, fresh baked breads and a huge ""cut your own peice"" cheese wedge. You really have to pace yourself because it comes with the meal and the meal portions are also plentiful, so save room!\r \r The waistaff times your meal to come out shortly after clearing away your plates from the salad bar and replenishing your drinks. It's a well oiled machine the way this place works. We have never had to wait, wondering where's dinner. This is what we mean by excellence.\r \r Try as you may, but you might need a doggie bag, because dessert is also worth it! The Barnsider has dessert specials and frequently serves this Swiss Chocolate Bread Pudding. It's to die for and if you can't finish it, it goes great with breakfast. there are many other items on the dessert menu such as an ice cream sundae, chocolate mouse cake, pies and often a hot apple crisp. Sometime there is a homemade strawberry shortcake that has hommade strawberry flavored biscuits. It's also out of this world.\r \r As you can see, I can't say enough good things about the Barnsider. We've been going for 11 years. We are picky and they still amaze us. We just sit there after the meal and say ""I love this place"". We don't even live in Albany, but find it well worth the trip. Give it try, you won't be dissappointed.\r \r Melissa and Ed Durant\r Ballston Lake, NY

I was in this establishment tonight enjoying dinner and a couple of drinks with some girlfriends I hadn't seen in a long time. First of all, the parking situation here is TERRIBLE. The music was horrible. The seating arrangement was horrible. To be quite honest there weren't many quality gentlemen in the entire place, which was packed, including the owner. I was approached and threatened by a guy in this place and because I verbally defended myself by asking him to stop talking so disrespectfully to myself and my friend, the owner accused me of starting an argument. He was as much of an *******as the patron who bothered us. The owner actually got in my face and asked me what my problem was when he was told clearly by his security staff what was going on. This was all after my friends and I spent a large buck on dinner and drinks for over 3 hours. I was so insulted I left. His crappy establishment attracts crappy people. I wouldn't spend another dime in there if someone gave me the money to spend there. Most of the security staff leave a lot to be desired as well. He has had the same boring DJ for years who absolutely attracts the wrong crowd. I strongly recommend that people go through the trouble of going out in Saratoga or in Albany. They will get treated with a lot more respect, have good music and a nice atmosphere to enjoy themselves in. We all work too hard for our money to waste it in a place like this. It is also very scary for a conservative, woman to be in an establishment where she doesn't feel safe or protected by the security staff. BTW that unruly patron was not asked to leave. I will say again, the owner was a total scumbag *******. His establishment should be closed.

This place is the best Sushi bar in the Capital Region by far. Prices are good for what you get. $13.99 for lunch, all you can eat sushi, appetizers, soup/salad (Note: this is not a salad bar or hot buffet style eatery). This buffet has you fill out a checklist and they make it fresh and serve you. Just don't over order or you will be paying to bring your extras home. The staff gladly brings you another sheet to fill out if you are still hungry and want more. The panko breaded calamari is to die for and the Mango dipping sauce is the bomb! The place is not much to look at from the outside, but the inside is all renovated with retro lighting and a new age classy feel. I havent had dinner there yet though... I think it is like 20$ but the waitress said the dinner selections are really good. By the taste of the food at lunch and great quality, I beleive it! For the most part this place has put all the other sushi places I have been to in the Hudson Valley/Capital & Saratoga Region to shame. If you are a sushi savant, this is the place to be!
