Five Star Builders
Overall, very disappointed with not only their work but their inability to complete tasks & maintain a level of professionalism that you would expect from a company servicing individuals that have just been through a life altering crisis (fire, flood, etc). In my opinion they are the home builders version of ambulance chasers but there is no exciting news story just a home that's poorly built. I do not recommend them.

Paramount Construction
Horrible experience with this so-called company. Do not hire Adam V. He is an unlicensed and incompetent crook!

BLC Custom Homes
We recently purchased an older home. We love it. It has lots of charm, character and…issues. The master bathroom was completely unusable. I looked on line and called around. My search ended with Bill Cornacchia of BLC Custom Homes. He turned our visions into reality…but better!! Bill and his team were very professional, their work was amazing, they kept everything clean and as promised. I was and am still blown away by the incredible transformation of our master bath. Now it is almost too beautiful to use. We love it!! We love it so much that we asked Bill to keep going. He just finished working his magic on our family bathroom. Bill’s attention to detail and exceptional service has once again exceeded our expectations.Bill Cornacchia, has been amazing to work with. We highly recommend him to take on your dream. You will be so glad you did but, you better hurry because the next project is already in my head, I can’t wait to see what BLC Custom Homes makes of it!

De Young Properties
De Young provides horrible customer service, they lack on warranty repairs and they don't care about their customers. They also don't care about the homeowners and their safety. (De Young sent a contractor to my home to do roof work unannounced in an unmarked personal car) I would not recommend a De Young home to anyone. My house still needs repairs done and it's been over 2 years since I moved in. I have uneven tile, cracked tiles, the sprinkler system wasn't trenched properly, I have foot prints on my dry walls all over the garage, they patched an attic hatch because one wasn't supposed to go there, they did sloppy conduit work for the AC with a stressed entry going into the house with flagging electrical tape, my light canisters going down the hallway are uneven, they scratched the glass on my courtyard door and the paint is uneven throughout the house. Their new office location is off of Armstrong and Gettysburg in Clovis.

Absolute Plumbing
Absolute Plumbing is owned and operated by Korey Pimentel. Korey has done several plumbing jobs for my wife and I on recent occasions, including clearing a clogged toilet and shower, installing handicap grab bars in the master shower and toilet closet, and installing a new water heater and hot water circulation system. On each occasion I called Korey, he immediately answered his phone and made arrangements to address the problem, if not that day, ASAP. He is licensed, honest, trustworthy, caring, and his philosophy is simple: each project he undertakes he treats as though he were completing the project for his own home. He has an awesome personality, great sense of humor, and will not complete a project until it is right. And cleanup after a project is immaculate. We highly recommend Korey for any of your plumbing needs.

Absolute Plumbing
I have no complaints. He was prompt, courteous, and gave me a fair price. He said he'd be there first thing in the morning, and the next morning he called at 7:30 to let me know he was on his way.

Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.
