Diamond Plumbing & Heating
Absolutely horrible! Do not call these guys. They came to replace my furnace when my old one went. After installing the new one, the heat did not work. I made a call to them and they came back out. The heat came on, but they never installed an expansion tank, so my whole basement flooded. Called them again. They then installed the expansion tank and charged me additional charges, even after paying over 6K for the new furnace. After this, the heat went out again three days later. Called them again, they came back out and CHARGED ME AGAIN. Except this time, only two zones out of three were working. Finally, when the heat when out again, I called another company. Upon inspection it was revealed they put the furnace in completely wrong. When I called them about it, they told me they fired the guy who did the work, and would come back out. They came out again, and told me it was all fixed. WRONG. The top floor (where bedrooms are) STILL was not working. I went back to the other company who came out to inspect their work. They had to replace the pump because it was put in backwards and burning out. They also had to replace a zone valve. (This all on a 1 month old 6K furnace) Upon calling Diamond, I either didn't get a call back about a refund to cover for my payment to have their errors fixed. After a few more things went because of an inproper install, I was told by them it was "Not their problem!" So the decent company I am using now is STILL fixing their errors, and of course costing me more money. Although their prices are much better, and they get to my house within the hour. DO NOT USE this company. They do not honor their warranties or services.
Tips & Advices
  • Are you licensed and registered?
  • Are you insured and bonded?
  • How many years have you been in business?
  • What, if any, professional associations do you belong to?
  • May I have a list of references?
  • Do you offer a written warranty for your work?
  • Will I need a permit for this work?
  • Don't use your toilet or kitchen sink like a trash can by stuffing hard to flush material down the drain or pouring fats and oils down the pipe.
  • Throw coffee grounds and eggshells in the garbage instead of in your sink.
  • Only use your toilet to flush human waste and toilet paper
  • Before calling a plumber, try to unclog your drains and toilets yourself by using a plunger.
  • Make sure you use a standard bell-shaped plunger for your sink and shower drains and a plunger with a flanged end for your toilets.
  • If neither type can loosen the pipe blockage, put a plumber's snake to use.
  • Ratchet the snake down the pipe to eliminate any clogs.
  • Be mindful of how much water you use in your bathroom, kitchen and even outdoors when watering your lawn.
  • Make sure your toilet handle works properly and doesn't stick.
  • Replace old shower heads with more efficient low-flow options that can cut down on the gallons of water you use each morning.
  • Turning off the water while you brush your teeth
  • Only running your dishwasher or clothes washer when you have a full load.
To keep yourself safe from fraud or a possible scam, always remember to ask plumbers for their license along with a written warranty for their labor. Besides this, further safeguard yourself by checking their references and ensure they or their company is insured and bonded to do their work.
