I used Eddie and his crew this summer moving from the warehouse district to Lakewood and after using another moving crew today (I had to change days and only had a day's notice, so they weren't available) I can while heartedly recommend Apartment Movers! The owner and his two helpers arrived ready to get to business- Eddie went over specifics with me and gave me a written estimate letting me know the amounts of each item (ie $2.50/box etc) and had me sign off and they got to work cling wrapping (didn't charge me extra) some items and started loading the truck. It had to be 90°+ and they never skipped a beat! After everything was loaded they met me in Lakewood and unloaded everything in my new place, sorting by room and everything! Those poor guys were soaked after seriously hustling for three hours in the heat!! There were a few scratches and scrapes here and there but honestly, nothing more than my brother and Dad did originally moving me in and like everything else in the world you get what you pay for. This time around I made sure to buy my own cling wrap (Amazon has great deals btw) and wrapped everything up like I was Dexter Morgan. Best thing I could have done cause these other guys were a total joke (Budget Movers through U-Haul - errr!!)**Bottom line- I would (and have) recommended Apartment Movers to anyone who's looking for a cheap efficient move. Anything super fragile you should protect and yourself or pay a high end moving company. But for $250 it was the best money I ever spent! Plus not hearing my dad complain about moving me again and just sitting back watching someone do all the hard work was worth three times that!! :)

Now I've moved around a lot in the last several years and I have had some of the best movers and some of the worst, and I have to say that this Company, Apartment Mover Co., is one of the best I've had in years. I called a few places looking for estimates on a small studio apartment moving only a television, 42", a glass television stand, a love seat, a full sized bed, bed frame included, a small desk, 4 bar stools, a high top table, and about 9 boxes. Several of these places estimated from $365-580 not including reassembling my bed frame and table. I thought it was ridiculous, but because all of my stimulates where in these ranges I was almost set on paying almost $600 to move 4 miles down the road. A good friend of mine gave me the number to Apartment Movers Co. and as a joke i gave them a call already hearing a ridiculous price in my head. At the end of my conversation I had found the company I was using for $220. Less than HALF of the price of majority of my other estimates, When they got to my old apartment they were very polite, clean, and did not play around. A lot of places will charge by the hour and then take their time but this group of men is about getting the job done and about treating your belongings as if it were their own. The job took less than an hour and a half and It was honestly one of the most entertaining moves I've had thus far. I highly recommend this company!! Great prices, great guys, and a great job!

I recommend American Eagle fully. Best involvement with a moving organization I at any point had. They gave me superb service.They landed inside their window of time and quickly started wrapping my furniture. At that point they even repacked by stuff, just to ensure nothing was harmed. I was inspired. They took care of every one of my effects with mind. The move was just a hour away, so when we touched base at my new home, they instantly began emptying. One of my sleeping cushions couldn't be conveyed up the stairs so the folks needed to lift it during that time story window, which was unforeseen. Everything was taken care of with extraordinary care. All my cases and furniture were put in the right room, so I was prepared to begin unloading. No harm was done to a solitary thing. I never knew moving can be so lovely, however subsequent to encountering a move done by American Eagle, I know it is conceivable.

I have to say that we really appreciated all the work the American Eagle team did organizing the various moving teams and then the storage for us. Our move from MA to AZ was definitely less stressful for us with American Eagle coordinating everything. The pickup team and the delivery teams were both great, polite, on time and introduced themselves right at the beginning. They put down lots of carpets/blankets to protect the wood floors during packing and the white carpets at delivery. The delivery team helped unwrap all the big stuff and even came back to pick up all the boxes once we were done unpacking (I thought that wasn't included, so that they did it was really nice). American Eagle had been recommended to us by some friends that had used their services before and we will definitely pass along the recommendation if we can.

It was an incredible experience for me to see them shifting my belongings. The way they tackled many significant issues, we got acquainted with nothing but their utmost professionalism. I went to the reviews, forums and blogs to choose who can meet my needs and it seems, luckily I found the best one. The four skilled people, who came to move my furniture, took extreme care to take apart and put together. I had some lamps, glasses and some wooden furniture. They assembled those correctly when they delivered. There was not a single damaged item which for I could have claimed against them. The customer service was prompt to answer phone calls. They know how to show courtesy. If any unwanted circumstance happens in future that I need to reallocate, I would definitely hire them again.

The movers showed up on time and went right to work. The crew was unbelievable. They worked hard all day and despite our being a little unprepared for the move, they had us all packed up at the end of the first day. I'd say they handled the situation quite well. The second day, the crew finished packing up items we had forgotten from the first day and then loaded the truck. Everything was handled carefully and protected properly. No damages. There was one full truck load and a few odds and ends that we agreed to take ourselves. The move in was smooth and quick. No damage. The entire payment was made after the move was completed and was in the amount expected. Boxes and packing materials were extra but not exorbitant.

From the moment I spoke with a rep and estimator I was more at ease. The staff are very knowledgeable, patient and know their company which put me far more at ease than other companies I spoke with. Everybody was friendly and were able to answer all of the little questions and were very patient as we accurately processed my inventory. While this process can be so stressful this company eased my concerns a great deal. I also love the upfront nature of their quoting process and billing process and the fairness with which their charge their clients. Here's hoping the moving process goes as smoothly. If the process to this point is any indication there is nothing to worry about.

I just received my belongings from American Eagle last week. Truly said I didn’t expect that they would reach within such a short time. But they did! They not only delivered timely but the loading was very smooth and timely on move out day. I was not present at that time but my other family members have been there. They have excellent testimonial for this company’s folks. They were well mannered and strong. Even I also watched that nothing was impossible for the movers. When they came to deliver I just tell them where to place our furniture and they did the job quite easily. There was no way to make any complaint. I am recommending them without any hesitation.

I recently moved from Seattle, Washington to Austin, Texas and used the services of American Eagle. Kelly was wonderful and not only answered all my questions, but was very patient with me and my nervousness. The subcontractors that packed my stuff in Seattle were great, friendly and professional, and did a terrific job. I had absolutely NO breakage. The crew on the Austin end also did a stellar job. They delivered and unpacked what was needed, put everything back together again and hauled away the mounds of packing papers. I would not hesitate to recommend Kelly and American Eagle Movers to anyone. Thanks guys!!

American Eagle did a great job with my local move. On the day of the move we were a little behind getting things ready but they took apart our beds, tables and just worked with speed and grace. The crew was awesome - very professional and cool. We only moved a few miles away but moving is moving and so glad we chose them. Once at our new home, the movers did not damage anything and they way they wrapped our dressers with blankets and how they taped things worked well. I moved our own fragile stuff like T.V. boxes with delicates but that is a common sense thing to do.
Tips & Advices
Yes, it’s best to empty drawers, wardrobes and chests before a move. Items always get knocked around a bit, and doors can fly open even if they’ve been taped. In fact, more often than not, movers will want to remove the drawers from a dresser--or disassemble the wardrobe to be more space-efficient.
Yes, it is customary to tip movers, but the amount varies widely. For full-service moves, a 5 percent tip is suggested, although, for extra service, some people go up to 10 percent . For small local movers, you can give each mover $10 for a few-hour job, or $20-$40 for jobs that take longer.
A bill of lading is the legal contract for the move. It provides a detailed receipt, in addition to a contract between the client and the mover. It authorizes the mover to transport the goods from one specific point to another, and it outlines the exact scope of services, with cost breakdown for those services. It also provides an itemized list of the inventory, and carrier liability protection for each declared item. Finally, it specifies the payment arrangement. Make sure to go over your itemized list extremely carefully before finalizing the paperwork--and get a copy of the full document. A good mover will go over everything on the bill of lading with the customer.
There are several items that moving companies will not move – those items will be listed on a document as “non-allowables.” These items typically fall in three categories: perishables, sentimental/personal items, and hazardous material. Perishables are food and plants. Sentimental/personal value is up to the client to decide, but usually includes jewelry, medical and dental records, personal paperwork, valuables and collectibles. Hazardous material is the tricky category, since it includes a lot of everyday items found in the garage, garden or kitchen. For example, cleaning liquids and pesticides both are considered non-allowable by many companies. Some go so far as to disallow nail polish and batteries.
A binding estimate means that the moving company cannot charge more than the stated amount, though they can lower the final bill if the scope of the job was smaller than expected. A non-binding moving estimate is more likely to wind up costing more than expected, since the movers can increase their rates for unforeseen variables like stairs, “long carry” and materials.
