Arbor Pro Tree Care Co
Completely disappointed in this company. Was initially impressed when they first came to quote, however when we tried to contact them to schedule, communication was an issue. I understand things happen and life gets busy, but it was excessive. The guy even sounded drunk in the voicemail he left. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and scheduled. Once we were finally scheduled, we made accommodations for our pets to be out of the house, the backyard accessible, as well as taking time off work that day. When they arrived in the morning, they immediately realized this job was "too big" for them, and would actually cost them money. Okay, that's what the quote visit is for! If you quote appropriately you won't have to waste our time, your worker's time, as well as our vacation days. The appointment should have been honored and we should have our tree being taken down right now. That's what a company with integrity would have done. I see now that Arbor Pro is not one.

Acacia Landscape & Design
This contractor took a deposit from our company to install a lawn and walked off the job. It has been over 30 days and he continues to ignore my calls. I feel he has stolen the deposit without completing the work.

Nature's Beauty Tree Service, LLC
I was impressed with the entire process! Seth came out on Monday for an assessment, emailed a quote that evening, and on Wednesday morning he showed up with a crew of 5 guys and heavy duty equipment. He removed a huge ash tree and plum tree and trimmed 2 other trees. All of this was done within 4 hours! Their pricing was competitive and they did a great job! Overall, It was a pleasure doing business with them!

I contacted this company several time concerning some tree branches that I wanted removed. At least three appointments were made and each time they had an excuse of why they were going to be late or could not come. A total waste of my time. I work nights and to stay up for someone who is not going to show is terrible . I called the BBC to have them checked out and was told that no listing of this company was on file. Very disappointed because I turned away two other companies...trusting these people.

Did a large project for me. Started great; turned into a nightmare. Took 2 months longer than told and project is not what contract said it would be. A 10 out of 10 on how the project looks. A zero or .5 on execution. Who builds a water feature that doesn't hold water ?

Costello Landscaping
It was our first time hiring a landscaper, and I don't think I picked the right one. I didn't get the information I needed in order to make my yard last. The flowers planted around the back of my house unfortunately died within a week. The new tree we had them install survived, but our yard still has a big blank spot where their truck made indentations when they took our overgrown bush out. I tried to follow the reseeding instructions they gave but it still looks hideous. I don't think these landscaping contractors were as helpful as they should have been to us plant newbies.

Lawns For Less
Had them come do weeding and mulching in my front yard and it looked incredible. My kids came in town shortly after the work was completed and they were blown away at how good my yard looked. I will be calling them every year!
Tips & Advices
Employers must conduct all required training in a language and vocabulary that workers can understand. Training must demonstrate the hazards of operating certain machinery, like stone cutters and splitters, as well as how to use them appropriately. It's important to verify that your landscape contractor has taken the necessary steps to fully train its personnel and that the appropriate safety precautions are in place.
Check the specific regulations for your area, and verify that your contractor has the necessary licenses. These may include a state contractor's license, pesticide license, CDL driver's license and license to sell and purchase nursery stock.
Landscape work is not cheap, so it's in your best interest to make sure that it's done to your requirements and that you get the best contractor to do the job. Homeowners should know how much they'll need to pay for the contractor's service as well as how they will be billed for this work. Ask about any design fees, if quoted prices are fixed or estimates, and what the payment process will be. Clarifying these items in the beginning will prevent any surprise expenses.
Yes. Homeowners should require that the contractor submit certificates verifying compliance with safety, insurance, workers' compensation and drug and alcohol testing programs. This will give you peace of mind that the contractor has gone through all the steps under industry regulations.
Yes. Every good contractor should have a list of recently completed jobs that you can see in their portfolio. They should also have a list of references that you can contact, or properties that you can see in person.
