If you are like me, you conjure up ideals of concepts in your head and usually are disappointed by reality. Not so with Johnny's which is a Northern Italian Restaurant on the outskirts of Cleveland with an understated elegance and food so good it is unbelievable.

9.Velvet Tango Room
2095 Columbus Rd
Night ClubsBarsCocktail LoungesRestaurants
London, Venice, Paris. This is where you would have to go to find anything like the Tango Room. The first time you walk in you feel transported back in time. A time where gentelman did not need to be reminded to remove their hats upon entering a room. Where tuxedos and long black gloves don't look the least bit out of place. And where you can order a Rob Roy, Sidecar, Ramos Gin Fiz, or Lady in Red and not have the bartender stare at you with a blank look and ask you if there is any RedBull in that. Every drink is made from scratch. If you order a sour you get egg white, fresh squeezed juice and it is shaken until it is blended to perfection. Would you wait 5 minutes for a drink anywhere else? At the Tango Room the art of blending a drink perfectly is a show in itself. The first time you visit sit at the bar and just watch the bartenders work. It is as fascinating as wathching an artist create a painting out of a blank canvas. The lights stay low, the conversation is private and softly spoken, and on those magical nights when Paulius is present every lady receives a rose. You have never had a Manhattan like a Tango Manhatten (If you have ever even had a Mannhattan). There is live jazz everynight performed exquisitley by some of the areas best piano and bass musicians who transport you back to the days of Cab Calloway and Benny Goodman. Call ahead and reserve the back room and experience a place that I cannot describe in words. From the beautiful bartenders, the eclectic decor, the clientelle of mature, sophisticated ladies and gentleman, and cocktails like you have never even dreamed of you will be hard pressed to ever go anywhere else for a drink. The fact that it is hard to find only helps to preserve the mystique. Take the time to find it and you will certainly never be dissapointed.

11.Abbasso Underground Lounge
1222 Prospect Ave E

Abbasso has truly the most innovative music in town, with some of the best local and headliner DJ's. It's rare to find a club where you can hear a DJ lay down some fantastic sets in such an intimate setting. This summer alone has given me to opportunity to hear numerous local DJ's as well as John Howard, Steve Porter, Dan Mnookin, Randall Jones, etc... (And all had phenomenal sets!), not only that the crowds had such an amazing vibe and appreciation which = some very fun nights! This is the only place I know in Cleveland where the dance floor can be filled with bodies moving until 5:30 in the morning. If you're into music and friendly people this is the place. (And ask for a Tall Paul---it's the best drink in town!)

On my 2 visits to Cleveland, went to the Treehouse both times!! Not a wild and crazy place in comparison to how crazy Cleveland can be.... but a solid good time. Good beer, good folks. Great place to chill with friends, and maybe make a few new ones.

Is this place ever 18 and up???
4408 Detroit Ave
I am a huge fan of this place! The atmosphere is amazing. Sitting inside on a cold winter night sipping some Irish Coffee(great, not that coffee with bailey but a whiskey blend) or Guiness after a delicious meal ( I like the salmon) is all you can ask for on a cold Cleveland night. Service is great and very friendly. The best part is hanging out on the patio which over looks the lake and a great view of downtown. I like to bring out of towners there to check out the view which on a nice summer day you can watch the boats and see the most incredible sunsets. They also have free music a few nights a week but and I have to disagree with some of the other posts about it being too much of a ""bar"". The music doesn't start until about 9 or 10 so if you want a quite dinner before it's not too bad. Besides when I bring in visitor(who are usually from bigger cities and think the Midwest is boring) it's nice to show them that Cleveland has a lot of cool, fun places to go. P.S. It helps having a great place to go with all the residential development in Ohio City
16.The Parnell Charles Stewart Pub

I began going to Parnell's Tuesday nights with a girl friend and quickly became comfortable with the bar. Although we were newly 21 neither one of us felt as if we were out of place. The bartenders are very friendly and will likely sit and chat with you about anything you throw their way. The clientelle is regular as I have been for the last 3 years and you are likely to see a familiar face most times you walk in for a drink. Parnell's is ussually pretty crowded on the weekends with a steady crowd on the week but has become more popular ever since it has been completely non-smoking! (So nice, you don't smell like a bar when you leave!) The owner, Declan is straight from Dublin, Ireland with the accent to prove it and I am widely impressed that he has held the quality of an Irish Pub up to what it should be. For instance: no water in your whiskey, no green beer on St. Patty's Day, and absolutely no irish car bombs.. and if you don't understand why go in and ask him. The tap handles they have on draft are any beer drinkers fantasy and if you don't like beer the full bar is perfect for any mixed drink. Anyways, the Guinness at Parnell's is poured to perfection! The small appetizer menu may be a bit decieving as it looks small and greasy but anything on the menu is actually quite tasty.. I reccomend the basket of fries or the fish & chips.. perfect with any pint. And NO Corned Beef & Cabbage on this menu.. probably because it isn't an Irish dish to begin with! I swear visit any pub in Ireland and I swear when you come back to Cleveland at a barstool in Parnell's you'll feel right at home.
17.Market Avenue Wine Bar
2521 Market Ave
After a few weeks of down-time, Ohio City's finest wine bar has re-opened across the street - next door to The Flying Fig. The space is bigger; but the atmosphere couldn't be cozier! The glass pours and wines by the bottle stand-out for both their boutique selection and outstanding taste. The food compliments the wine perfectly and the various small plates are ample enough to create an entire meal. There's no place nicer to take a date or meet a friend....we had a great time, my girlfriends and I, and we will definitely make this a regular stop.

I am from Sacramento and went to see a relative in Lakewood. I asked where is a good place to get a beer. He said The Tick Tock Tavern. He failed to tell me the best ribs ever were sold there also.I am 33 and been to alot of cities, even Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston all cities who claim to have the best ribs. The best ribs are in Cleveland Ohio!

This club was the best club when it was open. Yes, once and awhile fights broke out but the security was always on top of it and protected the entire crowd. The music is way more ""urban"" then any of the other clubs in cleveland and the place started poppin off early around midnight instead of like 3 like other clubs in cleveland. The drinks are expensive but get over it. The cover charge has to be kinda high because otherwise by the end of the night it would be too full and they would have had to turn lots of people away. i'll be sad to see Moda close. Most of the club people I know will also be sad.

We were staying at Comfort Inn at 18th and Euclid, while visiting Cleveland Clinic. At least three or four people told us, ""You HAVE to eat at Becky's! The food is awesome!"" Well, we got directions (it's only two blocks from the hotel) and set out on foot. The down side is, their sign was broken and it was dark out, so we didn't see it at first... and we walked back to the hotel to make sure we were going the right way. After confirmation that we were going the right direction, we walked to Becky's. It was a no-frills single story block bldg... older... on the outside... BUT inside, we found this quaint little neighborhood-type bar with regular patrons (some college profs, students, theater goers). When we asked some of the patrons what they recommended, we were literally told EVERYTHING! It was also recommended that we try the Becky's Burger and the Wings! OMG!!! AWESOME!!! THE best wings I've ever had! And I don't know what they season their meat with, but it was to die for! Steve had the Becky's Burger. I had the chopped steak with mushrooms and PEROGIES!!! YUM! And, of course, we shared some wings. Our bellies were very happy!\r \r Another plus, their beer specials are awesome! \r \r I hope next time you're in their area, you'll give them a try! You'll be glad you did!

While hosting a couple friends from NYC, we wandered around the neighborhood looking for the right spot for a late dinner. The first floor was crowded and loud when we arrived, which may have been fine on your average night, but we wanted something more low-key and a volume level that would allow us to hear each other speak. The friendly bartender told us that the upstairs was about ready to open, so we took advantage and had ourselves great meal amidst great ambiance in what turned out to be the perfect fit!

This is the benchmark of a great place for a drink, food, live music and atmosphere of Cleveland, Call them to find out when they are playing live music, Wed and Sat I know rock.. Have Hammond organ that can really bring the house down with Jazz. Lots of musicians stroll in and out on Jazz nights. If you can't have a good time there forget it.. Skip the RR Hall of Fame and see the real thing . Rock / Jazz / Reggae / Got to have some of their deep fried Asparagus ! Can be addicted to it... The place is popular so it can become crowded on live band nights, get there early...Old Young and in between are there for the music and food !

Best bar in Cleveland. Used to live around the corner, and can't wait to get back this summer. DJ Bradley plays the best mix of tunes you'll find outside a dance club.
