Pulmonary Disease Specialists
It's a shame. I really liked the doctors and the office staff too. Tragically, they lied to me about billing and costs. Get it in writing if they talk about co-pays and prices. Here is my story: I went to this specialist and paid my $40 co-pay. They said I needed a breathing analysis--but the person that does it was on vacation--so I needed to come back. I asked 2 times. "will I have to pay a co-pay"--they said no (my wife was there and heard this too). They said it was a continuation of the visit. Not my fault the person was on vacation. When I went to the breathing analysis, I asked again about a co-pay--they said no. Three times told no co-pay. I get a bill for the co-pay a month later. The same person that said no co-pay changed her story. I think in was a classic case of "cover your butt". She lied to me and the doctors said I needed to co-pay. AVOID! THERE ARE OTHER DOCTORS OUT THERE.

Patterson, Brian L, MD
I am a current patient. I have been to Dr. Patterson on a few occasions now in regards to a severe physical problem and he and his staff have at all times been thorough and kind to me. Very professional and honest. I feel secure knowing that my doctor will give me all methods and options available in regards to my problem, and not just rush me off into any decisions. I also recently broke an additional bone and had to see the office again, I saw a different Dr in the same building and I had the same quick, thorough, friendly help and service from he and the entire staff at Florida Sports Injury in Clermont, Fl. His name is Dr. Martinez. Both Dr's Patterson and Martinez are more than wonderful doctors. With my dealing with the agony and fear of my injuries, I at least know that I have the best care out there! I highly recommend Dr Patterson. Also, again having my one visit, so far with Dr. Martinez, I recommend him as well for any injuries!!!

Robert M Merritt MD
I found Dr. Merritt to be rude, sarcastic, and condescending. I was so upset when I left his office that I broke out in fever blisters the following day. I am normally not a person that is bothered by another's actions or attitudes but his unprofessionalism was over the top. I could never recommend this physician to anyone in good conscience.

Mays, Wendellenna, MD
Worst "medical" experience EVER! And I have had my share! Really to put it in "professional" terms I would categorize the experience as "actionable." A VERY warm place will freeze over before I will go back to or recommend this "doctors" office. If you are reading this and you understand my quotes then you have probably just experienced this office ;) My apologizes to you.Signed,Your 3rd World Patient

Dr. Wendellenna Suzanna Mays, MD
Dr. Mays office is so bad I didn't want to give it one star but I couldn't post this review with out putting something there. This office is nothing but a money hungry doctors office. They lie and give you The wrong diagnosis. They wouldn't see me and when they did decide to see Me they lie and tell me I'm seeing dr Mays but it was just the PA. I have never seen Dr. Mays I've been at the practice for two years now. I called to see if what I had issues with something to be concerned about they did not seem too concerned at all. I am going to the ER in severe pain and staying for five days. My advice is to get out of that office and go to the doctor that actually cares for you and not your money. One where they PA does not tell you not to get sick because Dr Mays is overloaded with doctors. Or one that tells you they can't see you for everything you came in for to make another appointment so they can talk to you about that issue. The office has no communication between any of the staff and the doctors it's unbelievable. Just a bad is office overall.

Dr. Wendellenna Suzanna Mays, MD
I was a patient of Dr. Mays for 2 plus years. During that time I only saw the doctor one time and that was for approximately 5 minutes to try to sell me on some diet program she was promoting. All the other visits I was seen by her P.A. The bad thing was that even when when the p.a. was stumped the doctor was still never seen. It was like when you deal on a new car, where the salesman has to keep leaving the room to see his manager for what to do next. I was not happy with this kind of treatment at all. When I had an unusual problem come up during one of my last visits, it was clear the P.A. had no idea what was going on with me. When the blood work she ordered didn't provide her any clues, she was obviously in over her head. Still the doctor was never brought in. When she finally wanted to refer me to an orthopedist which truly seemed to me to be ludicrous based on the symptoms and other factors, my questioning of this referral was met with, this is my opinion, take it or leave it attitude. I was stunned. I took it upon myself to see a rheumatologist instead, who accurately diagnosed me and put me on appropriate medication on my first visit. It was after that incident that I left Dr. Mays for good.

Tips & Advices
An osteopathic physician practices a comprehensive form of medicine that takes a holistic approach to a person's health. Instead of specializing in one system or set of organs, an osteopathic specialist focuses on the health of the total body. This includes evaluating environmental factors that affect a person's well-being.
Many family doctors deliver babies, especially in rural areas without a nearby OB/GYN. However, most family doctors only deliver for low-risk pregnancies and do not perform cesarean sections.
Family nurse practitioners are highly educated nurses able to provide medical care individually or with the assistance of another professional. Family nurse practitioners obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then take the National Council Licensure Examination to begin working as a registered nurse. Then, they continue their education and obtain a Master of Science in Nursing. Following that, they become certified in family practice via the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, allowing them to become certified family nurse practitioners.
Some family doctors provide immunizations while others do not. Typically, doctors who work as part of a large practice are more likely to offer vaccines in-house. Doctors in offices of one to two physicians are more likely to refer patients to a public health department or other immunization provider.
A physician's assistant is a person qualified to perform routine medical services. This individual is professionally licensed and certified, but they may not have the extensive med school education of a doctor. That said, PAs do complete almost three years of postgraduate study and more than 2,000 hours of rotations.
