Roger Marion's Village Auto Care
a friend took his car there after his front right tire had blown (the first time) gotten it fixed good as new then two days later we were getting onto the highway and the whole right side completely gave out air bags deployed which shouldn't have happened because we didn't hit anything the model of the car is completely fine. Called him the next morning and he called us liars saying that we had to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and we were completely sober..... anyways we call a toe truck to come get the car and they drop it off fix the two tires... on the way home i was driving behind him and his tire was wobbling about to completely fall off of his car and they forgot to put some of the nuts back on. thats the part that gets me is if you're a mechanic how could you look over something thats dead in your face. He also bought the car there a 2004 Honda accord and has had more minor problems with it than he has ever had with the car. Window broken the gear shifter button broke the seatbelt not working and i'm sure more i just can't think of it all. He also made him pay for it knowing everything. i just feel he takes advantage of people who don't know much about cars and what service they should get. Somebody there was being careless and i'm not the person to complain about much or even write a review but i think people should know how bad my friends experience was.

NTB National Tire & Battery
DO NOT GO HERE - Very disreputable . . . Went in to repair a screw in my tire (that I could see). Was told tire also had a hole in the sidewall (can't be repaired) so I needed a new tire. Store didn't have a replacement tire so I took car to another tire store the next day. Upon inspection - there was no hole in sidewall . . . NTB lied to me to sell me a $200 tire!! Tire is fine now with only the repair of the screw hole ("plugged" for free).

You will think that they are honest, but don't be fooled. They will say what is wrong with your car without really looking at it, then they will charge you more money. All the time acting like they care, I do not know how they stay in business

NTB National Tire & Battery
I went in today and got wiper blades. Cost me $61.00. Thought maybe they guy at the desk was new and made a mistake I left and checked on it , sure enough, he overcharged $29 ( charged for blades and labor when in fact he was only suppose to charge for blades). By the way, he was the store manager. Pretty sure he overcharged me on purpose.

Heard the owner curse real bad to one of his customers. He was very loud and nasty and told her to never come back to him again. It sounded like she had a good complaint about being told she needed work done that she really did not need. I left and will not go back there. I have been told by other people that he could get very nasty. Also others have said they were told they needed work done that other places told was not needed.

We have been taking our vehicles to Roger and his guys for three years now. They are always straightforward in their diagnosis and Roger ALWAYS remembers my name, make and model of my car and what the last repair was. There work is solid, though they do sometimes leave the car messy, but they are so helpful in finding me a loaner or driving me home. I will continue to take my car here as long as I can. They don't cut corners, but they do try to save me money where they can, sometimes just eating the cost of something unexpected because the total is more than what they originally quoted me.

Merchant's Tire and Auto Service Center
They have twice recommended service that was not needed. Also slow service. It took 1 1/2 hr for an oil change with an appointment! Deceptive advertised pricing. Must buy expensive service agreements to get their ad price.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
