Steiniger, Joseph R, MD
I am a tonsil cancer survivor and due to radiation and chemo endured 8 1/2 yrs ago, I have serious swallowing issues that arise over time. I moved from IL where I had been under the care of a wonderful ENT but had difficulty finding an ENT who was knowledgeable in cancer after moving to FL. I was at a point of only being able to eat soft foods like mashed potatoes and soups (no meats) for the past year. A GI doctor did a balloon dilation on me which did not work. I was aspirating with almost every bite. Then I found Dr. Steiniger. I made an apt for a Fri and we scheduled a rigid dilation for the following Wed (3 rigid dilations done in IL in past years were successful). I was eating within days and even meat within a week. The GI doctor wanted to insert a feeding tube which, according to him, I would have been on for life. Instead, I am eating and enjoying food. Dr. Steiniger is thorough, knowledgeable, and compassionate - all excellent traits we hope to find in our doctors.

Clayton, Gwendolyn K, MD
I've been going to the Turley Center for almost a year now for both myself and my kids. I've never experienced anything bad on my behalf but it's another story for my kids. Dr. Reyes and Weirsma have been nothing but the best. Both are very kind and caring, as are the front desk staff on both sides downstairs. However, I took my kids to the office for what I thought was more than just a really bad cold and was told by Dr. Clayton to "let it pass, it'll run it's course." No tests were done at all. I decided to get a second opinion from a local pediatrician's office as they got worse over the next couple of days as I was trying to do as the doctor said and "let it pass." Turns out it was RSV. I'm very disappointed that the diagnosis was missed and sort of brushed off as if it was nothing. I'm no doctor or nurse but I know when something is really wrong with my children. Very nice lady but I just wish the illness was taken more seriously.

I have dealt with acne since I was in my early teens. I’ve been on proactive, tried every over the counter product imaginable and even had some laser treatments. After reaching my wits end, I did some serious research and came across Dr. Kass. After my initial consult, I was ready for treatment that day! The thing about Dr. Kass is that he doesn’t pull any punches and is very frank and very realistic about the chances for improvement. But his before and after photos truly speak for themselves. I had a deep peel and filler done to help with my acne scaring. I was unable to go out in the sun for quite some time, but it was well worth the wait. My skin has never looked better! The scars have diminished so much. The fine lines and bumps are almost all gone. My skin is amazing improved, so soft and smooth compared to before treatment. It brings me to tears to know that there is finally a treatment out there that works so well!

Last year my sister in law had a croton oil peel by Dr. Kass, she had terrible lines on her face and after the peel she looked as smooth and tight as could be. I decided at that point that I needed to have this peel done. The decision was easy for me since she had already had it done and I saw what amazing results are achieved first hand! I did meet with Dr. Kass for a consultation to discuss further concerns I had about my face, and decided to go ahead and book a facelift and have the croton peel done at the same time. I felt like a pro during my pre and post op experience since I had already witnessed it before. I’m just had my 3 month check up with Dr. Kass and I was right on par! My fine lines and smokers lines around my mouth were gone; my face was no longer sagging. Anyone who is thinking about doing this needs to see Dr. Kass, he’s the best!

Arora, Ajay K, MD
very confused about my mri result ordered by primary MD. went to another neuro specialist in st. pete first. Everything clarified in detail by Dr. Arora. I was very satisfied with my visit. New diagnosis of MS and have been doing well on treatment started. Staff helpful and friendly. Doctor answers questions well. Father who is 78 has seen Dr. Arora as well for recent stroke and is doing good. Dr. Arora saw dad in the hospital and in the office. Aunt with parkinsons also seen and doing much better on current medications. located on hospital campus with parking garage and easy building entrance. Many people stop to park on first floor but ample parking at higher levels. Very good physical therapy facilities on first floor. I am walking much better now. Highly recommend Dr. Arora and his office

Dr. Hayes is top notch. I recently had surgery at Morton Plant Hospital (where she is affiliated). Most noteworthy is that Dr. Hayes held my hand while I drifted off to sleep during the administering of the anesthesia. I have NEVER had a surgeon do something so compassionate before. She is patient and caring and really took the time before surgery to hear my concerns. Morton Plant Hospital..another great experience. I felt tended to every moment I was there. And with a smile. I have never met so many genuinely nice people. Today I received a Thank You card from Morton Plant Hospital and it was signed by all of my attending medical staff. Celebrity treatment all they way!

I decided to go to Dr. Kass to receive Restylane in my lips. More than anything I wanted to go to a doctor who did the injections himself, rather than using an esthetician or nurse. Two of my friends go to him, and they are always very happy with their results. I was able to get in a few weeks after I called for a consult, and received treatment same day. Dr. Kass was very patient and very gentle and explained everything to me. My lips looking AMAZING! I wish I had done this sooner. There was very little pain, and swelling went away in a day or so. My lips look soft and sultry, just what I wanted! Dr. Kass and his staff of dolls are true sweethearts!

Our Family Doctors
I saw a couple of extremely negative reviews about this medical office. They are *so* wrong.I knew Dr. Roberts, and he was great. Since he left, I have been seeing Dr. Malone. Dr. Malone listens, is caring, and exhibits great skill. I trust him.And as to the other negative review, just today I developed a condition for which I needed to make an appointment. That appoint is tomorrow morning for 9:00am -- that is excellent service.

I appreciate the care recently provided. Minimal wait time. Was very worried about my head scan and current condition. Building has a covered garage which makes it easier to get in and out on a hot and rainy summer day. I am 81 and difficult to walk far in the heat. Doc was pleasant and answered questions. He helped my husband as well. Staff helpful. Thank you.

Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
