Eastview Veterinary Clinic
I have been to Eastview two out of the 3 visits that we have made to the vet since getting our baby, Sadie. She is a 9 week old Pomeranian, and the Eastview team makes us so happy with their excitement when we bring her in!We had an unpleasant experience at another vet- where we didn't feel as though the vet truly cared about our Sadie. She didn't check vitals or anything and held her for approximately 5 seconds and told us that her soft spot was water on the brain and that we should return her to the breeder we got her from. We were devastated. We decided to get another opinion, and boy am I glad we chose Eastview. My boyfriend and I had been up all night researching water on the brain and our Sadie was not showing any signs of water on the brain. I had googled other veterinarians in Clarksville and stumbled across Eastview. I called them right at 8 (when their normal business hours start) and asked many questions. In fact, I ended up speaking to the front desk 3 separate times that morning. Not once did anyone get frustrated or angry that I kept calling! Everyone was extremely polite and helpful. Due to their warm, welcoming voices over the phone, I decided that this was definitely where we needed to take our Sadie to get a second opinion.Upon entering Eastview, the staff at the desk was so friendly and helpful and they got us right in to see Dr. Acree. Dr. Acree is such a kind woman. She listened to our concerns and took a good look at Sadie, playing with her, checking her vitals and asking us questions about her personality and how she was doing. Dr. Acree came to the conclusion that Sadie did NOT have water on the brain and even had the other vets in the building take a look at her, just to be sure. Everyone there was so encouraging and even said that they wouldn't hesitate to keep Sadie if they were us. We took her back a week later for shots, and Dr. Acree was off. We worked with Dr. Loxley and he was nothing short of amazing. He took great care of our girl and reassured us, yet again that our Pomeranian is perfectly healthy and gave us some great tips on keeping her that way.We are so appreciative of the entire staff at Eastview Veterinary Clinic. We will never take Sadie to another vet for as long as we are in Clarksville. We sure have been spoiled by Eastview! I will continue to recommend them to everyone I know!!

I made a YP account just to write about Pet Calls; that's how strongly I feel about my experience. Dr. Markham is the kindest, most caring vet I have ever encountered. He treated three of my cats over the last five years including one who regularly became such a terrifying ball of fury in the vet's office that other doctors were afraid to touch her. Dr. Markham cared for this cat in the last years of her life and thus had interact with her extensively. However, he always remained patient. He calmed not only her nerves but mine with friendliness and humor. When the awful time came to say goodbye my little girl, Dr. Markham was remarkably sensitive. In working with my other cats, I feel Dr. Markham strikes a good balance between exploring every avenue and being reasonable. The mobile nature of the clinic is also convenient and greatly reduces the stress on my animals. It's definitely worth the few extra dollars. Finally, I can say with confidence that Dr. Markham is willing to go above and beyond for both patients and clients. Recently, I needed a letter from my vet to help secure a new apartment. I was worried, because I found out about the requirement at last minute, but Dr. Markham saved the proverbial bacon by driving copies over the next day.

Like one of the other posters, I also created a Yellow Pages account just to let everyone know how GREAT Pet Calls is! Dr. Markham is one of the most sensitive, empathetic and caring vets I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I had to have two 19-year-old cats put to sleep due to health issues and did not want to stress them out by having to take them away from home. Both times, Dr. Markham came to the house. He was always on time and very gentle with both of my boys. It was very hard to let them go, but he made it so much easier. I will always be grateful for the care, empathy and attention that Dr. Markham and Pet Calls have shown me and my animals. I can't recommend them enough!

Animal Clinic Of North Clarksville
I Love this clinic. We took our dog on post for a little bit but then couldn't seem to get appointments when we needed them so we went here and I love it. They do walk-ins so I know that during the day I can bring my dog in for anything anytime. Dr. Singleterry is always super cheerful and down to earth. She seems to be just as hyper and happy as my golden doodle so they get along wonderfully. Dr. Smith has a much more calm demeanor but so patient with my crazy doodle.I have yet to met Dr. Walker. The assistants are also very patient and cheery and the front desk are sweet and quick. Estimates have always been given to me before anything has ever been done to my dog.

Tiny Town Animal Clinic
We had a serious concern with our dog, from my initial phone call to the same day appointment they were able to provide me with, I haven't experienced such exceptionally friendly staff in a very long time. They treated us (myself, the dog and my children who came along) with kindness and care, even when my toddler was misbehaving. I was so embarrassed when my dog urinated in their wonderfully clean lobby, but they reassured me it was ok and cleaned it up immediately. Refusing to let me help. The care from the vet herself, knowledgeable as well as kind. Superb bedside manner! I recommend this clinic to all of our pet friends.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr Walker and her staff. I have two dogs and two ferrets and take all of them to this office. Dr Walker hasn't ever had me pay for unnecessary testing as my old clinic did and she removed a tumor from my beagle for a fraction of what my old vet wanted. I'll never go anywhere else again. Dr Walker and her staff are amazing and you can tell how much taking care of your pet means to them. That's so important when looking for a place to take your furbabies to :)

Southside Veterinary Clinic
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I made an appointment at another clinic and ended up here by mistake. They saw my cat and treated her immediately. The doctor was extremely nice and answered all of my questions. The prices weren't too bad either, I spent only 100.00 for the visit, a shot, and 2 packs of medication. I highly recommend this place, we will definitely travel there again.

I cannot put in words how Thankful we are for the care and compassion you gave to my family while we said goodbye to our Lady. And when I seen the beautiful box she has been placed to rest in, I was so pleased. We miss our dear Lady so very much. Thank you for bringing her back home.
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
