Hay Funeral Home and Cremation Service
I was very impressed with this Funeral Home. I was hesitant at first to use a new service as my family had used a different funeral home in the area for many years. They were very personable. I was going through a very rough time personally and financially and they were very helpful and understanding. They found the best options for my family and were very respectful.

Hay Funeral Home and Cremation Service
Would not use Hay Funeral Home services ever again. They advertise that $1000. is too much for a basic cremation, however by the time they are done, they are as close as you can get. I called in advance of my mother-in-law passing to get the total and final cost. Jeff Hay assured me it would be $895. When the time came, Karen Eckerle and a young man named Jordan showed up. As soon as they entered our home, K Eckerle was rude and unpleasant. I was just about to ask them to leave when Jordan spoke up. He was polite and very professional. So, I let them continue. A few days later, we got a call from K Eckerle informing us that the total is now $945. I then talked to Jeff Hay and questioned the extra money. He said it was for the urn from the crematory. This isn’t my first cremation. I happened to know that the crematory supplies a plastic box “urn” with each service. Jeff Hay got very rude and obnoxious. We were supposed to pick up the ashes the next day, but now they delayed us another 3 days because he got angry. I would suggest another service.

Newcomer Funeral Home
DO NOT GO TO NEWCOMER!!!PLEASE NOTE that the 5 star reviews on this page are for WALKER funeral home, which is across the street!!!Newcomer is an absolutely abhorrent establishment. My father had funeral insurance--not life insurance, insurance specifically to cover his funeral expenses and that's IT--and Newcomer would not accept it because it had not been vested for 2 years.I am told this is an industry-wide standard with insurance policies--okay, fine. But Andrea Moses, our funeral director, was not even professional enough to VERIFY that, before our hours-long meeting about rental caskets, urns, services, speakers, programs, obituaries, family history, flowers, the whole nine--if the funeral home would be able to accept the insurance policy. Would it not be obvious to someone who has "been in this business for 15 years" (as she claims) that this might be pertinent? Furthermore, when it became evident that they didn't have a guaranteed $5,000 in their hands, they were completely unwilling to work with us to the slightest degree. No options of a payment plan or installments was even entertained. They demanded payment, in full, in a matter of hours. They did absolutely nothing to help us out. We were just stared at until we decided to walk out and figure out our own arrangements.It is painfully obvious that this company is only about making a buck. I get it, you have to make money--what business doesn't. But the level of unprofessionalism, the lack of compassion, the unwillingness to cooperate the tiniest bit with a customer who is prepared to spend thousands of dollars at your establishment... not to mention that customers come to you in a time of extreme despair and distress, at a very difficult time in their lives. Part of your job is to make this process easier for people who are not emotionally equipped to deal with such logistical stresses. Newcomer failed at this abominably.I find Newcomer's treatment of their grieving customers to be completely and utterly heartless. They should be ashamed of themselves. I will do everything in my power to steer friends, families, co-workers and strangers far, far away from this business.

The funeral directors here have taken care of many family members and friends for over 40 years and have ALWAYS provided services above and beyond expectations. They handle everything!!! At a time when you can hardly think - they take care to make sure all details are handled and questions asked. They are at the services and arrange for all to be done...CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH good things about Elden A Good Funeral home and all of the directors!
