Graeter's Ice Cream
Back in the day this made Oprah's list of favorite things, and it makes my granddaughter Julia's list of things to do when she visits Cincinnati, too. Two celebrities can't be wrong, can they? This ice cream is made in the French pot, small batch way. Many varieties to choose from. Black raspberry chocolate chip is one of their best sellers. Sign up for their rewards card and get a free sundae (any type, size, price) on your birthday.

This is my favorite Graeter's location in Cincinnati, because you can hop across the street to lovely Hyde Park Square to enjoy your treat. My favorite flavors are black-raspberry chip and mocha chip — their dark-chocolate "chips" are the size of small candy bars! There's a reason Oprah chose this Queen City-staple as her favorite ice-cream ... it's the best in the world!

Putz's Creamy Whip
This place is another home town favorite. The food is what you would expect at a creamy whip place. The creamy whip itself is supposed to be better because of the ancient machine they have. I don't know, but it is good.

Aglamesis Bros
This place has great ice cream. They are right up there with Graeters, maybe even better. Not a lot of parking at this location.

Gold Top Dairy Bar
This place has been here for a long, long time. You know summer is here when Golden Top is open. Good creamy whip ice cream.

Try the Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip or the Hazelnut Gelato or any of the Sorbets.
