Andrew Mallicoat's Automotive
Great experience, would highly recommend. If you want your car fixed right, instead of trying different repair shops until you get it right. Shorten your trips, and give Andrew a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Kennedy Motor Service Inc
The only place I take my 92 Toyota Celica for repairs! The Kennedy Team (Bernie, Greg & Ila) are always there for me. With my car being older, I worry about being able to find the parts for repairs. But they work their magic and have kept my car still running great! Kennedy Motors has become the place my entire family goes when those dreaded repairs are needed. The only thing I suggest is make sure you call for an appointment because, they sure do stay busy. I guess the secret is out! Thanks Guys! I appreciate you!

Five Star Auto Care
After paying them $170 to tell me they couldnt find the leak in my AC system so they added coolant and dye, they then found a major leak in the main hose assembly, the one right in front of you when you open the hood. Then they quoted me $681 to replace. I ultimatley got the repair done at another shop for $320 and that price included an oil change. When I asked the owner why the estimate his mechanic gave me was 50% higher than another estimate and more than double that of a third estimate he said it was because they only used quality parts and had good mechanics......yeah, right. Had I allowed them to rip me off they way they tried to, I would have spent a total of $850 for a simple leak in an AC hose assembly. They will never, ever get another dime from me.

Monfort Heights Auto Service
The only mechanic I go to...My entire family has been going to Monfort Heights Auto Service since Larry opened up as a Gulf gas station.Myself, my wife, my father, and two of my sisters have been taking their cars there for nearly 40 years. We've sent several friends there from time to time.He has done repairs on every car I have ever owned. We've never had a single problem there. His prices have always been reasonable. He's always been fast, and honest with all of us.My wife and I always talk about not know what we will do when Larry retires because we don't know where we'll take our cars when Larry isn't there anymore.

Sears Auto Center
Went here early in the morning to get new tires put on my car. They told me their technician had called in sick so I had to go to a different tire place.

We live in Kettering and our car broke down in Cincinnati. Jim Smith was super courteous and professional. He made sure that our car made it to our repair shop in Moraine and that my wife and myself made it back to Kettering safely. Thanks Jim.

Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center
I had my other vehicle serviced another place and they made me wish the entire time I was at quick lane. The service is second to none and the jobs that they performed on my vehicle was flawless and truly saved me a lot of time by doing the job right the first time.

Professional Auto Care
I had a replacement clutch installed on Miata. Clutch started chattering in about a month. Now after 4K miles it's barely drivable. Suspect inferior parts were used. No warranty- they just blame some unrelated part.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
