Center On Halsted
I drove a long way, was a few minutes late due to the insane traffic in miserable and worthless Chiraq, and they could've given a damn.

Akarama Foundation Community Service Center
Akarama is a community center in the Woodlawn neighborhood where different venues can be given. My daughter recently had her reception there and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The center is clean and welll kept, and the price was very reasonable. I would like to give a shout out to all those on the staff who helped to contribute to make this a joyous occasion for my daughter and her new husband. God bless.

Horrible place each and every time I visit this place is a issue or a problem girls in front literally sit there and do nothing but talk about their personal life out loud awhich we don't need to know about ! you are at work ! Doctors turn you away right at the door and give ridiculous excuses for it they also talk to you as if your ignorant and show very little respect for patients they do as they please with your medications remove them as they please even if meds are working for you and literally deteriorate health wise with out them also they WILL OBLIGATE you to sign papers you do not want to sign and of you refuse to sign them they respond with well then we just won't give you any refills this being told to someone who is really sick and can't miss a dosage of medication horrible place only thing they are good at is taking your co pay money and telling you sorry you need to reschedule or go to the ER there nothing we can do for you smh

Good Shepherd Christian
This has to be one of the worst churches I've ever gone too. I wouldn't even call it a church to be honest.a very unpleasant experience without Pastor David Siczko. I was disappointed. Too much drama.

Good Shepherd Christian
Every time I visit friends in Chicago, I visit this church because I used to attend Good Shepherd on Belmont when Alexander Sizcko was pastor. I do not know why they moved. Last time I visited, I was surprised and disappointed because Pastor Siczko was no longer there. There doesn't seem to be an official pastor at this time. I have never seen a worship team be in such chaos. They even give each other dirty looks. My opinion is there are too many problems with the staff. Everyone fights all the time, they are disrespectful to each other. There are no youth to speak of. Emotionless and disappointing. Not what I was expecting. I will be looking for Pastor David Siczko when I visit Chicago again.
Tips & Advices
  • Talk about specific consequences of their drinking.
  • Choose a time soon after the person experiences a drinking-related problem (missing a shift at work, for example).
  • Do not threaten, guilt, lecture, preach, or use negative labels.
  • Do not try to discuss alcoholism when the person is intoxicated.
Therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists who specialize in the condition can all diagnose and treat alcoholism. People with alcohol-related concerns can also consult their general practitioner, who will refer them to a specialist.
Detoxification is a medically supervised period of alcohol withdrawal to allow the body to purge itself. A doctor or treatment specialist closely monitors a patient to ensure the symptoms of withdrawal do not cause harm. Side effects of alcohol detoxification include:
  • Sweating
  • Vomiting
  • Elevated heart rate
  • High blood pressure
  • Tremors
  • Nausea
  • Sleep issues
  • Paranoia or anxiety
  • Hallucinations
  • Seizures
The cost of addiction treatment varies depending on the type of facility, amenities offered, treatment provided, and size and length of the program. Detoxification ranges from $1,000 to $15,000. Inpatient facilities cost anywhere from $6,000 to $30,000 for a 30-day program and include detoxing. Outpatient programs can cost $500 per session.
Outpatient alcoholism treatment is a part-time form of rehabilitation. Patients continue their normal lives during the day and return to the treatment facility several times per week. Outpatient treatment is generally cheaper than inpatient and can be helpful for people with less severe addictions. Inpatient treatment programs require patients to stay at the facility 24/7 until the completion of the program. They provide a highly controlled environment for patients to overcome their addictions without the distractions or temptations of everyday life. These clinics provide round-the-clock medical care and often include hours of group and personal therapy. Inpatient programs are beneficial for people with severe addictions or those who have overdosed.
