YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

phone service is horrible. first of all, they want to get ou off the phone as soon as possible. they barely take any information and give you any with lots of attitute. plus, there is a woman named catherine there who obviously hates her job. as soon as i walked in there was no customer service whatsoever. i said good afternoon while holding my puppy and she did not respond. i let that go and she proceeded to check if i had an appointment. she asked my puppy's name and told me i was wrong about what breed MY dog was. i explained to her he was a mixed breed and she not only continued to disagree but she rolled her eyes and banged impatiently on something while she kept checking on my appointment. told me my dogs records where not in order when in fact they were because i had taken him in not long before (and when i made the appointment over the phone and i asked if everything was set and the records were fine, i was told yes and was hung up on). i asked what she suggested i do about the records and she gave me the option of calling the vet but they were closed. she then called the male who made the appointment and he did not have a better attitude. when i began to explain, he denied i ever asked about records, rudely kept playing with his tongue/tongue ring. the catherine person loudly told the male from the back door to take my dog and to stop if he began biting him and when he heard her, he acknowleged her by only nodding, turning, shaking his neck, pressing his neck, flying his hand and saying ""mmmhmm, ya know it!"". \r Please DO NOT go here. I do not trust these people and will never set foot there again. if they can't take an appointment and they aren't happy working there, how can we leave our precious pets with them? God only knows if Catherine becomes angry at someone else, if she will kick or try to choke your dog!!! CAREFUL.

I read all these reviews before I went there. I almost didn't go because of them. If I didn't, my cat would have been dead. Not once did I think they were after my money, and they did everything they could to care for my sick cat. He had hepatic lipidosis. I took him to a different vet first; they gave him fluids and pepcid. When I got him home he got so sick that when I brought him into Lake Shore I thought he was on deaths door. It was the fast acting of the doctors and staff that saved his life. Since then I have dealt with most of the doctor staff and have found them to all be very caring. The techs are pretty intelligent and considerate also. If you want a cheap vet you will get cheap services. And 60 dollars for an exam seems to be the standard rate in the city.

Almost since their birth 3 years ago, I have been taking my 2 toy poodles to V.I.P. for their haircuts. Their cuts are always perfect and most importantly, my dogs aren't afraid to go there, which says a lot! My boys are excellent judges of character-better than myself-and Caprice, the owner, has been amazing... she's never been anything other than wonderful to my boys, honest with me and a great person to do business with.?

MY GERMAN SHEPERD GO TO THE PET SALON ON A REGULAR BASIS TO GET A VERY NICE AND CLEAN GROOMING AND EVERY TIME I DROP HIM OFF OR PICK HIM UP HE'S HAPPY AND LIKE I SAID VERY CLEAN. SO FOR THE ONE PERSON TO SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT THE PET SALON IS UNCALLED FOR. YOU KNOW SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT ITS A BAD THING TO CUT HAIR OFF AN ANIMAL IN SOME PLACES MAYBE HE DIDNT FEEL COMFORTABLE CUTTING THE HAIR AROUND A DOGS EYES. YOU CAN RESTRAIN A DOG SECURE AS POSSIBLE AND HE/SHE CAN STILL HAVE SOME TYPE OF MOVEMENT.IF YOU THINK THAT THE GROOMER UP NORTH IS THAT GREAT AND CAN MAKE SURE YOUR DOG HAVE NO MOVEMENT AT ALL THEN THATS WHERE YOU SHOULD GO. AND NOT MAKE ANY COMMENTS ON A SALON YOU ONLY BEEN TO ONCE. ALL DOGS ARE NOT THE SAME.

I found Paradise Pet Salon through a google search about six years ago, after being turned away by both Petsmart and The Barking Lot (on Irving Park Road) because my mini poodle was supposedly ""aggressive and too hard to handle."" After two bad experiences elsewhere, I was wary about taking my dog anywhere for grooming, and I warned the receptionist at Paradise, ""he tends to be nippy."" But you can tell the women who work at Paradise know how to treat animals and how to calm them down. Rather than strap my dog immediately into a muzzle, they picked him up and cooed at him and petted him for a few minutes and got him to relax. When I picked him up later that day, I got a good report - no biting or aggression whatsoever - and he looked so much better than he did after previous grooming sessions; the cut was so much cleaner. I have been taking my mini poodle and my bassett hound to Paradise ever since. With the friendly service and the reasonable prices ($45 for a full grooming and $8 for just nails), I don't even mind driving all the way from Kimball/Foster to Irving/Broadway and back twice in one day.

They have a wonderful supply of natural pet food products. Most important to my kitty they have a variety of cat toys. When I was there the staff was helpful and friendly and it has no pretensions like some places. I wish they were closer to where I live, I would go there more often.

Chip and everyone at Animal Lovers do a great job grooming my two dogs, a labrador and a daschund. I just had my dogs groomed today, and am completely happy with the grooming they did on my dogs. My dogs love it there, too, and are always happy, tails wagging when I pick them up. I'm happy because they are always groomed so well and their nails are always perfect. Thanks, everyone at Animal Lovers Pet Salon, for doing such a great job grooming my dogs and taking such good care of them.

This is a great veterinary clinic. I started going here years ago with my pets. I try to see Dr Barzyk if at all possible, because she is by far the best vet there, and from my experience, in Chicago! She's prompt, honest, extremely knowledgable, and really wants to try and do what's best for my animals. I have gone to other vets in Chicago, and not a one compares to her. She's also the most compassionate veterinarian I have come across too. I recommend her to anyone. She recently got back from maternity leave (thank GOD!), so you have to book your appointments with her early, since she's only there on Fridays and Saturdays. I am sure Higgins is not the cheapest vet around, but Dr. Barzyk will do only what she deems necessary for the health of your pet.

The second reviewer ought to be ashamed of himself. "Owned by Mexicans, no English..." Well it seems to me, an English-only-speaking person, that the woman owner and I converse just fine. I've been taking my Pomeraninan there for 4 summers now -- he gets a shave and a nail trimming along with a bath and my choice of scenting, all for $30. They do an EXCELLENT job of grooming him to my specifications and if I'm not satisfied with the length of his leftover shag, they fix it. They even let me stand there and watch for the hour and a half that it takes them to do it because it makes me feel more comfortable to not leave my dog alone. I am a VERY particular mommy and I wouldn't be taking my dog there TODAY, June 28th, if I thought they did a bad job. I'd like to direct an apology to the first reviewer because I do feel for ya, but accidents happen; that one little incident doesn't affect their overall performance and the general public ought to know that. I hope you'll consider my reccommedation and take your pet to Mickey's -- they do cats, too.

Today, I tried Soggy Paws at 1912 State St and I was very impressed. I had to make the appointment a couple of weeks in advance, but it was well worth the wait. They sent a reminder via email, which was a nice feature. There is free parking in the back, the place is clean, and the groomer did an excellent job.

Brandy is AMAZING! My dog has anxiety...extreme anxiety. But Brandy takes her time with my boys and treats them like people. I've tried several groomers and no one compares. She priced way below what she's worth! One Brandy was unavailable at the time I needed the boys groomed so I took them to a place in West Loop close by our home. They had cute haircuts, but my dog with anxiety had been cut and the cut got infected. I HAVE NEVER HAD THAT ISSUE WITH BRANDY. The boys are always happy to see her, and they come home looking better than when they left.

I want people to know the type of business practices these individuals use at this location. I was physically and verbally attacked because I refused to pay the $5 upcharge they were demanding from me at the time I went to pick up my puppy. I had to call the cops and left with scratches and very distress. I was told the service was $35 when I dropped my puppy off for grooming, when I went to pick up my puppy they told me it was $40. I asked why was it more and that I was not going to pay that because they had given me a price of $35. I told them that they needed to disclose any changes in prices before taking a job and allow their clients to decide if they want the service or not; they cannot just demand people to pay more than what has been agreed. What if they would have said is $60? It's not the amount but the principle. These people acted like street gangs and ganged up on me to the point that I was hit and pushed. I asked to see a manager and the woman there said using a profanity that she was the ""cuss word owner."" What kind of owner speaks like that to clients. They use every cuss word in the book and accused me of being a ""cheap dog"" for not wanting to pay what they had upcharge without notifying me. I am outraged at these people and their business practices.\r \r I want people to be aware of these individuals because now I am receiving harassing calls at work from them. I want this on record in case they act up on their threat that they will get me for not paying the extra $5. These are people without any professional or personal ethics. I cannot believe they are behaving worst than animals over $5. It is disgusting. \r
