Stokes Auto Service
Stokes Auto Service in Bridgeport is the greatest ever!! My 1995 Bonnieville broke down on me the other day at a stop light. Since I was in Bridgeport returning home from my friend’s, I had no idea where to have it towed to. Thankfully, my friend called a few friends for a referral and I had my car towed to Stokes. He immediately checked it out, and not only found the problem of why it died on me, but another ongoing problem of which over the last few years I had taken to numerous mechanics who couldn’t figure it out. He noticed the alternator in my car was not the correct one and the mechanic that installed it forced it in and cracked my Intake Manifold. I was shocked he figured this out, especially so quickly and I hadn’t even mentioned any other issues. He knew my car like the back of his hand!My car was ready 2 days later and now is running like new! He was wonderful! He was spot-on in diagnosing my car within a couple of hours. He thoroughly explained everything to me. Their prices are fair and reasonable and I know he did quality work. I was very comfortable with him. He could have taken advantage of me since my car was towed there and I was “stuck”. But he didn’t. I know I would have paid much more for the same work elsewhere. Money is tight for me and he did all that work within my budget that we discussed.Stokes Auto Service is professional, honest and I got the heartfelt feeling that he really cared about my safety (not the money) and wasn’t going to let me leave with a car that may have jeopardized my safety. And he didn’t know me from Adam! I am so very happy that I have found a mechanic that I can trust! I will not go anywhere else, because being a woman; I have been ripped off by mechanics in the past. It will be a bit of a drive for me to use him, but totally worth it! He has a new happy customer for life! I cannot rave enough about Stokes Auto Service!!!!Tina UEvergreen Park

Ravenswood Animal Hospital
I think Dr. Cindy Olsen is the most talented small animal veterinarian in Chicago. She also is trained in acupuncture & chiropractic to treat dogs, cats, and visits barns around Chicagoland to treat horses. She opened her own practice in 2014, Ravenswood Animal Hospital. I'm impressed!! The facility has all brand new equipment, insightful construction, and an incredibly talented hospital staff. It gets hard to park in the city, but her clinic has a parking lot and is across from Horner Park. A little bit about me, I love cats, I love everything about cats except wet food & litter box smells. Dogs are really cool too; but for me, cats are where its at. We have two orange cats in our house and Dr Olsen has been their veterinarian since 2006. Her advice and feedback to get an additional litterbox has helped ease the occasional 'disagreements' between the cats. Our cats get regular exams and have been consistently healthy over the years. In the few times that they have gotten sick, Dr. Olsen has been quick to treat them, extremely empathetic during the healing process, and extremely thorough during all of our re-checks to make sure our little orange friends got back to 100% health. Our cats are the snuggliest!I highly recommend Ravenswood Animal Hospital and Dr. Olsen.

Western Bryn Mawr Auto Repair
Once again Western and Bryn Mawr Auto repair helped me and got my 20 year old car running. I would hate to be the mechanic that fixes my car because my car is so old and am sure my car is hard to work on. Sami and George's mechanics are always nice, friendly and very respectful with me and I always walk away with a feeling like my job would have costed more had I gone to say a dealership. These are good neighborhood guys they always are more than fair with me and they keep my little ford in tip top shape for a 20 year old car. This time they did my break pads, rotors, tie rod, ball joint, 1 stud 2 calipers and an oil change. I am not going to say what I paid but asked around and everyone I asked guessed a much higher price than what these two brothers charged me. They are truly angels and are the best. Let me also add that my 20 year old car starts up like a brand new car in the cold weather and I really think it is because Sami and George's mechanics take such good care of my car. I bring it in every 3 months for an oil change and they look it over for me and make sure it is safe for me to drive. I am so thankful to them.

Weinberg Plumbing Company Incorporated
I have had my fair share of contractor-disasters, plumbers included. But, having seen Weinberg Plumbers around my condo, and knowing that they were highly regarded, I called them to help resolve several problems including the kitchen faucet leaking and the sprayer not working properly and clothes washer backing up into the bathroom sink when it drained. Todd arrived at 8 as scheduled – already a good start – and worked his way through the unexpected. The hole drilled in the granite counter top was too small for most replacement faucets. But Todd found the perfect one at an excellent price at the Faucet Shop. (Those guys are great, too.) There was not a working shut off valve under the sink (thanks, previous contractor). He installed one. The washer problem was solved with rodding, and he also replaced a partially-rotted pipe. He discovered other minor problems and just took care of them. It is clear that he takes pride in doing the job right. And he solves the unexpected problems creatively. I haven’t received the bill yet, but you know what? It will be well worth it no matter what it is.

Marvin's Auto Service
I found Marvin through my uncle when my Ford Explore was having problems. I was told by another mechanic that I needed to have all new ball joints. This was going to be over $3000 worth of work. I went to see Marvin and told him I needed a quote to have all my ball joints replaced. After he had my car for an hour he called back and said I needed to have 2 shocks replaced and one new tire. This totaled $200 worth of work. Because he was honest with me I was sold. I have taken 3 different cars to him. He is always fair, honest and never tries to screw me. I have recommended him to many friends who have all had great experiences! For as long as I live in the Chicago area I will bring my car to Marvin's. Marvin's is one of the few businesses left in the neighborhood (in which I grew up in) that has remained true. It you want a Latte with your oil change or if you can't understand someone with a Spanish accent that is a personal problem and you need to have more than just your car fixed!

Dayton Auto Rebuilders Inc
Well I can say is WOW! I just picked up my car from Dayton and I am so pleased. I had an accident a few weeks ago, where I had a good amount of damage. My insurance company recommended Dayton, so I had my car towed there. The shop manager Glen was very nice and explained the whole process to me and answered all my questions with sencerity. My car was in the shop for 17 days, in which they kept me informed the whole time. Since my car was in the shop, I called to ask if they could also fix a small dent that I had prior. Robin, the lady in the office was so helpful with getting back to me with a price and again answered anything I asked about my car. When it came to the insurance work, Robin took care of everything for me, to where I didn't have any of that stress. My car looks fantastic and back to the way it was before. I am very thankful to the entire shop and I will recommend them to anyone I know. Thanks again Glen and Robin for making my car look great and treating me so well.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
We had water bubbling up into our basement from our floor drain. One call to Roto-rooter, and we were quickly set up with an appointment for the following day. Our window of time was from 1-3, but the technician was running behind. However, we received two calls from dispatch apologizing for the delay and reassuring us that they will be out to fix the problem as soon as possible. The technician showed up at 4 and was done in less than an hour. He was careful not to make a mess and he cleaned up the little bit of mess that was there at the end. He was pleasant and didn't mind our daughter who wanted to ask him lots of questions and see what he was doing. As promised, he provided a quote in writing and began working immediately. No surprises, No gimmicks, No bait-and-switch tactics. Everything was straight forward and the problem was resolved to our satisfaction. Great job Danny #2153 and to Roto-Rooter for helping us out. Armando's Auto Repair
Thank you for restoring my old car a 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, it was almost impossible job . Your staff was very professional and absolute joy to work with. The job was to change the rear Rocket Pinion and also the rusting lines for the steering system. In order to do this they have also to change the struts and lower down all the rear components. It wasn't an easy task since there are no parts for this car. I found some in California and Mr Armando some in Chicago. They kept me informed throughout the process of the repair and of testing my car to make sure everything was working properly before returning the car to me. I truly believe you are one of the best mechanic in the area along with your son. I'm going to tell everyone. I know of my experience. You are truly a company that provides high quality auto repair with integrity, honesty, and excellent customer service at a fair price and with a personal touch. Andres Laguna.

Dayton Auto Rebuilders Inc
Recently I was involved in a serious accident and the car was "banged up" pretty good. I couldn't imagine that my car with nearly $12,000 in damages would ever look or drive the same. Boy was I wrong!!! When I picked the car up from Dayton Auto Rebuilders, I couldn't believe how perfect it looked,--as if nothing ever happened!! Little did I know that the best was yet to come. The morning after I picked the car up, I drove it from Chicago to my hometown,-St. Louis, Missouri to visit family. The ride was incredible (just like normal)!! I was so happy!!! When I arrived in St. Louis, my extended family scrutinized the car and tried to find "flaws",---there were none (LOL!). Thank you Dayton for delivering service beyond the expected! Because of you, I can keep my car and drive it again with confidence and pride!!!! You guys are AWESOME!!! Gratefully Yours,Lori McClenton

L & L Auto Service
I have brought my car here a few times and these guys are great. I needed control arm and respective ball joint changed on my car and other larger car companies were charging about $150 more than what L&L was charging for labor and & parts. I was told that I could bring in some parts myself and have them installed, however, they aren't covered in their warranty, so just make sure that the parts are compatible with your vehicle and are bought from a reputable company/seller.Knowing that, I went ahead and bought the parts that I needed online from a well-known company and made sure they were compatible with my vehicle and L&L were nice enough to install the parts that I brought in and only charged me for the labor! Fantastic!I saved a lot of money with them as their hourly labor charge is not that high and Luis & his associates are very courteous and knowledgeable in what they do. Great company.
Tips & Advices
Hearing loss is diagnosed using a multipronged approach. The ear care specialist will interview you regarding your medical history. The specialist will also observe your behavior, and take note of things that may indicate a hearing problem. Finally, you will be given examinations that are designed to help provide a clear and accurate assessment of your hearing.
There are four types of hearing loss. The first is referred to as an auditory processing disorder, and it takes place when the brain has difficulty keeping up with the information that's contained in sound waves. Conductive hearing loss is triggered by problems with the outer or middle ear, such as earwax buildup or a punctured eardrum. Sensorineural hearing loss is caused by damage to the hearing organ or auditory nerve. Mixed hearing loss is essentially a blend of conductive and sensorineural hearing loss.
A digital hearing aid is one that digitizes sound input before boosting the volume of the sound that has been received. In contrast, a traditional analog hearing aid simply increases the volume of the sound input without any digital conversion. The digital technology used in digital hearing aids makes it possible for ear care technicians to craft customized programs for the device that address unique hearing challenges.
The best type of hearing aid is one that does an effective job of providing the improvement in hearing that you seek. To evaluate a hearing aid's effectiveness, it's recommended that you use it in a variety of program settings and environments before committing to a purchase. You should also see how the hearing aid works when you are using your cell phone.
Audiologists are able to perform procedures that relate to the non-medical treatment of hearing loss and balance disorders. Audiologists can conduct tests that assess and diagnose these conditions, and they can prescribe and dispense hearing aids. They can also design programs to help conserve your hearing. However, they cannot provide pharmaceutical or surgical care. For this type of treatment, you must turn to an otolaryngologist.
