C & D Moving - Interstate Movers
In my move, I needed a company that I could trust to help get my stuff to my new home safe and sound, fast and at a low cost. I’m glad these guys were all of the above, great service at a pretty competitive cost, I would highly recommend them.

I recently moved with these guys and they provided a valuable and excellent service. When my boxes arrived to my new house, I received a call from their office asking me if everything was to my satisfaction. My boxes were kept in good condition, no items were damaged. No hassles at all and I would definitely use them again!

We were lucky on our relocation. They used proper packing to protect our belongings. One of our lamps was damaged accidentally but is was not a problem since the insurance took care of it without problem. This was a stress free move and the company is easy to deal with, great customer service and totally reliable.

All company’s employees were friendly and honest guys. They are even funny sometimes and that makes me feel confident. They treated me like a person not a sale. Their availability was 24/7. They provided status without having to ask for it. A day before they notified me that they would arrive 1 hour later than agreed. I appreciated this since other companies just do what they want without notifying you. They showed up on time and the loading was really fast. They also arrived right on time. This company is committed and dedicated to its clients, they won’t let you down.

Somebody recommended me this company to do my move so I shared this comment with a friend of mine and he agreed, thus I called one of their sales representatives a guy who was polite and willing to help me with all my questions, and I am someone who asks so many questions. The day of the move the guys showed up 30 min later but the foreman personally apologized for the inconvenience and promised to move my stuff real quick and in fact they did. The delivery was on time without any issues. for they are trustworthy I recommend them.

I only had to make a couple of calls to get my quote and arrange all details with my rep. He was courteous and professional and available all the time to whatever I needed. The movers arrived right on time and were very nice to me and my family, sometimes I'm a little picky so I gave movers many instructions on how to handle my stuff, they were kind and took gladly my instructions. These are petty reliable guys.

My rep called me offering their services in a friendly way. When I received the quote I was surprised on the good price I received so I decided to move with them. I do not have much free time but anytime I called somebody was always there to take my call. That showed me their commitment and care for clients needs. I am very pleased that I chose them over the other companies and would definitely recommend them to other people.

This was our first time using these amazing movers I was extremely impressed on their service. These guys were really helpful and made my move much easier. I was skeptic in using a moving company due to bad experiences I had in the past, but this one was completely different and now I feel confident in hiring them again.

C & D Moving - Interstate Movers
Horrible experience! Hired C and D to move my 83 year old mother from Texas to Oregon. They represented themselves as a family run company with great ratings BBB A plus, etc. They hired independent contractors and did a horrible job! They ruined family heirlooms, antiques, China, etc. we paid to have items packed and unpacked. Items left unpacked , furniture on sides and upside down. I have hundreds of pictures of destroyed items. The company stopped responding to calls, emails, texts, I even went by their “offices “ when in Chicago. It was just a shared space with no one there. I highly recommend NOT using this company. Huge rip off and not professional at all.
Tips & Advices
Yes, it’s best to empty drawers, wardrobes and chests before a move. Items always get knocked around a bit, and doors can fly open even if they’ve been taped. In fact, more often than not, movers will want to remove the drawers from a dresser--or disassemble the wardrobe to be more space-efficient.
Yes, it is customary to tip movers, but the amount varies widely. For full-service moves, a 5 percent tip is suggested, although, for extra service, some people go up to 10 percent . For small local movers, you can give each mover $10 for a few-hour job, or $20-$40 for jobs that take longer.
A bill of lading is the legal contract for the move. It provides a detailed receipt, in addition to a contract between the client and the mover. It authorizes the mover to transport the goods from one specific point to another, and it outlines the exact scope of services, with cost breakdown for those services. It also provides an itemized list of the inventory, and carrier liability protection for each declared item. Finally, it specifies the payment arrangement. Make sure to go over your itemized list extremely carefully before finalizing the paperwork--and get a copy of the full document. A good mover will go over everything on the bill of lading with the customer.
There are several items that moving companies will not move – those items will be listed on a document as “non-allowables.” These items typically fall in three categories: perishables, sentimental/personal items, and hazardous material. Perishables are food and plants. Sentimental/personal value is up to the client to decide, but usually includes jewelry, medical and dental records, personal paperwork, valuables and collectibles. Hazardous material is the tricky category, since it includes a lot of everyday items found in the garage, garden or kitchen. For example, cleaning liquids and pesticides both are considered non-allowable by many companies. Some go so far as to disallow nail polish and batteries.
A binding estimate means that the moving company cannot charge more than the stated amount, though they can lower the final bill if the scope of the job was smaller than expected. A non-binding moving estimate is more likely to wind up costing more than expected, since the movers can increase their rates for unforeseen variables like stairs, “long carry” and materials.
