Weinberg Plumbing Company Incorporated
I have had my fair share of contractor-disasters, plumbers included. But, having seen Weinberg Plumbers around my condo, and knowing that they were highly regarded, I called them to help resolve several problems including the kitchen faucet leaking and the sprayer not working properly and clothes washer backing up into the bathroom sink when it drained. Todd arrived at 8 as scheduled – already a good start – and worked his way through the unexpected. The hole drilled in the granite counter top was too small for most replacement faucets. But Todd found the perfect one at an excellent price at the Faucet Shop. (Those guys are great, too.) There was not a working shut off valve under the sink (thanks, previous contractor). He installed one. The washer problem was solved with rodding, and he also replaced a partially-rotted pipe. He discovered other minor problems and just took care of them. It is clear that he takes pride in doing the job right. And he solves the unexpected problems creatively. I haven’t received the bill yet, but you know what? It will be well worth it no matter what it is.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
We had water bubbling up into our basement from our floor drain. One call to Roto-rooter, and we were quickly set up with an appointment for the following day. Our window of time was from 1-3, but the technician was running behind. However, we received two calls from dispatch apologizing for the delay and reassuring us that they will be out to fix the problem as soon as possible. The technician showed up at 4 and was done in less than an hour. He was careful not to make a mess and he cleaned up the little bit of mess that was there at the end. He was pleasant and didn't mind our daughter who wanted to ask him lots of questions and see what he was doing. As promised, he provided a quote in writing and began working immediately. No surprises, No gimmicks, No bait-and-switch tactics. Everything was straight forward and the problem was resolved to our satisfaction. Great job Danny #2153 and to Roto-Rooter for helping us out. Call First Ltd
Great business. I was extremely happy that someone answered my phone at 7:30 in the evening for not having hot water due to water heater problems. He said that he always picks up the phone no matter what time of the day it was for customers. Within two hours he was at my place and looking at the water heater. He could have easily replaced the whole unit and charged a $1,000. However, Frank the owner is a very honest and reliable man. He ran through all the checks and found that the filters were simply dirty and needed to be cleaned. The heater is now running perfectly smooth again. I would recommend him to any homeowner or friends looking for an honest, reliable, and personable plumber. Extremely nice person.

WOW! These guys made my life so much easier! I have a renter in Chicago, and the hot water heater went out. They called Roto Rooter and got a ridiculous quote, on, of course, a late Friday afternoon. A former student recommended this company, and as I am 200 miles away I took her advice and called them. Got the owner, and needless to say the heater is installed. The photos of the work look outstanding, my tenant is thrilled and the quote I received was reasonable, especially on a weekend. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I finally know who to call with plumbing issues. There are still good, honest people in this world. This could have turned out so badly. Thanks also to my former student - I had smart kiddos!

Single mom desperate for help on a clogged drain - didn't like that they would not quote a price over the phone - came the next day - and of course within 5 minutes quoted me a price of $469 to snake my drain - I had already dealt a week with the problem and couldn't go any longer - so I said just do the work - I think they know they can get people to just go with them and that's why they won't quote pricing over the phone. The guy was really nice and knew what he was doing and "threw in" a $69 bottle of drain cleaner for free - I am upset I had to pay that much - but cost of being a homeowner I guess that can't do the work themselves. Next time I will source out other plumbers to do the work.

When visiting my basement, I found a good 1 inch of water standing around my ejector pump. I called Roto Rooter and they set me up for an appointment the next day. My appointment was for 8-11. At 10, a dispatcher called and said they were running behind and would let me know. At 10:30, i received another call saying they had someone on the way. Harold arrived at 11:30 and was a pleasure to deal with. He found and explained what the problem was (needed a new pump) and set to fixing it. He was done within an hour. He also gave me some useful tips on how best to dry out the areas that had gotten water logged. Getting fast, efficient service make this disaster not as bad as it could have been!

J & B Plumbing & Sewer Repair
"I called J&B Plumbing to fixed our laundry sink water clogging problem. When our tech Jeff came he was very nice, he is very professional and friendly. I also had him check out our toilet bowl leakage, he suggest to me that I can save cost by replacing the toilet bowl water pump by myself. Gave me the parts name and where to get them. At the end, he even denied tipping, plus gave me a 10% discount for running a little late! This is unreal! He is our plumber for life! Highly recommend Jeff for sure! Bravo Jeff! Thank you very much for your good work and professionalism!"

Metro Air
I used Metro Air for 18 years for my heating and cooling needs. I found them when I had my kitchen remodeled and the contractor called them in to move some of the heating system pipes and to install an under cabinet hot water radiator. Metro was always very responsive to my needs and I appreciate how Jim and Gina are always proactive. Whenever the seasons changed I'd get a call from Gina to schedule regular maintenance. Over the years they did several repairs to the boilers in my 2-flat and also replaced a leaky hot water heater. I have no qualms in recommending them.

We live in a 4 unit townhome in Aurora, IL. This morning we woke up to water coming out of our drain in the garage as did my other neighbors. I called RR and they sent Bill within the hour. Bill was awesome. He looked around our unit and figured out the issue within minutes. He unclogged our main line, tested it and we are good to go. I'm hoping I never HAVE to call again, but if I do I would call RR again. From the first call to customer service, the responsiveness and the repair, everything was TOP NOTCH! Thank you so much.

called Thursday and scheduled for 10-12 noon and no show, called and told "truck broke down" and rescheduled for Friday at 11 am. Noon Friday and no tech and told one would be here at 1 pm..and the tech Danny was here and helped us with our clogged basement laundry tub...he did a good job and was pleasant considering we were a bit disappointed as this is the second time we had used Roto Rooter and had a great experience...timely...the first time. All is well in the laundry area and now time to get that TON of laundry started.
Tips & Advices
Usually, a leaky or dripping faucet is an easy fix that can be done by anyone who is even slightly handy with tools.. To fix it, first shut off the water under the sink then remove any decorative parts of the faucet and replace the washer and O-ring before reassembling everything.
To keep yourself safe from fraud or a possible scam, always remember to ask plumbers for their license along with a written warranty for their labor. Besides this, further safeguard yourself by checking their references and ensure they or their company is insured and bonded to do their work.
If you're having hot water issues, you can examine the thermostat and adjust it accordingly. If you hear odd sounds coming from your water heater, it could be due to sediment building up. To get rid of this, make sure you clean out the heater every few months. However, if you hear a boiling noise, it could mean the heater is overheating and you should call a plumbing professional as soon as possible.
Frozen pipes are hazardous and can cause massive amounts of damage to your home. To prevent your pipes from freezing during the winter, run your faucets at a trickle and keep your house's heater at 55 degrees Fahrenheit or above to keep the water flowing.
  • Be mindful of how much water you use in your bathroom, kitchen and even outdoors when watering your lawn.
  • Make sure your toilet handle works properly and doesn't stick.
  • Replace old shower heads with more efficient low-flow options that can cut down on the gallons of water you use each morning.
  • Turning off the water while you brush your teeth
  • Only running your dishwasher or clothes washer when you have a full load.
