Revival Social Club
My dining partner and I have enjoyed years of great food and drink in Chicago and Los Angeles, and our overall impression of Revival was simply this: "we had to find a bad one sooner or later!"- there were other seats, but they seated us directly under a large, unfiltered skylight at 1pm -- lots of squinting!- the room was a cacophony of sound; all right angles and hard surfaces, so everyone was raising their voices to be heard.- we left much of our meal unconsumed: an over-salted bloody mary, an "odd, sort of tex-mex" eggs benedict, chips that tasted heavy and bland, and nutella pancakes that had no flavor beyond the nutella itself.- we were surrounded by waitstaff chatting with each other and friends at tables, and couldn't get a check without resorting to unsubtle methods. In short, you can do better.

Moe's Cantina River North
That guac! My god, that guac.I'm always impressed when a space impresses, and Moe's Cantina is gigantic, beautiful and comfortable. It's got a Mexican-border feel to it, with epic southern art everywhere. And I mean everywhere. This spot keeps going and I saw tables for two to 15 people. If you need to sit and want to eat, I imagine this place will do it for you, even when it gets busy. Now, I was there only for lunch, so cannot talk about the nighttime activities, but I loved what I saw. Classic menu of Mexican eats, including damn delicious guac and chips (do not miss the guac) and a lobster roll with a serious kick. Damn. Service was good and we were checked on often and I left away feeling full and very happy. If you're in the River North area, it's a solid spot to check out.

Chicago Chop House
Just finished our super delicious meal! Had the tomahawk rib eye with augratin potatoes and organc spinach salad with key lime pie for desert all of which were super delicious. Our waiter, the ex scuba diver , did an outstading job. Table service top notch with clean forks and knives with each course. Table swept clean, and if you leave your table during your meal, you will return to a folded napkin. Hostess kindly explained the local history of the building and neighborhood. I had to look hard to find fault, but being from old school service, I prefer my water and or drink glass to be removed from the table for refilling rather than reach across with a pitcher but that's just me. Enjoyed our first visit here and would definitely recommend.

Prime Food Caterers
I was a total wedding bridezilla (i can admit it now!) during my wedding planning process. Prime Food Caterers rolled with the punches when I changed my mind a thousand and one times about the menu, they also gave great advice about our choices. With Eduardo and the team's help, the food and drink was the last thing on my mind during our special day; it was seamless. I can't thank them enough for their flexibility, creativity and friendliness. They never seemed agitated or annoyed with my requests. My mother and Eduardo even surprised us with something we would have never thought of-- but absolutely LOVED-- an ice cream sundae bar after we had wedding cake! I felt inclined to write a review about Prime Food's amazing service!

Rocky's Tacos
I'd live at this place if they'd let me. (Also if it weren't bizarre to have some random white girl sitting at a table 24/7.) They have an extensive menu of tortas- like, dozens upon dozens of them, all named after soccer (futbol) stuff. Every single thing we've ever ordered there had been delicious. Although, to be fair, I've only ever tried stuff of of other people's plate. My one true love is the Taco Pionero, an amalgamation of every meat, every cheese, and every add-in you can imagine (like cactus. Cactus!) Served with warm tortillas and a horchata big enough to serve a family of four, it's divine.Plus, my two year-old loves their ham and cheese quesadilla appetizer. And at 2 bucks a pop, that's a cheap date.

El Ranchito Restaurant
THE BEST Hispanic Restaurant in the Avondale neighborhood! This is authentic Mexican food, plus they have a few other, non-ethnic choices on their menu. El Ranchito in Avondale is clean, cozy and family-oriented for eating in, and their delivery is very fast and dependable, always arrives hot and delicious. They are also open very late, for dine-in, carry-out, and delivery. They will make your food to order, just let them know what you want! The staff speaks English and Spanish, and are very friendly and accomodating.Compared to restaurants I've been to in neighboring Logan Square, Avondale's El Ranchito is more economical, better-quality, and friendlier than any Hispanic restaurant I've been to.

Paco's Tacos
I came here because they were featured on "Chicago's Best". We ordered tacos and tortas. Al Pastor meat was absolutely awful the rest tasted pressure well. Also I'm not sure what the carne asada was but it definitely was not carne asada. For some reason you have to pay before you order and have to order everything at the register. This place seems to have trust issues. Food here is a little more expensive than accustomed to but they are served accordingly. I didn't leave with the feeling that I had just wasted time by coming here but I definitely don't feel that this place is worthy of being considered among Chicago's Best.

Sociale Chicago
I happen to be in town and was walking in the neighborhood, so I decided to stop by. The weather in Chicago was unusually warm, and it was a gorgeous day out. Sociale had the windows open and the bar looked so inviting. I was warmly greeted by several staff members as soon as I walked in. Everyone was very friendly. I ordered a cocktail and the Brie with Bacon Jam flatbread. Listen Linda! OMG, it was amazing! I tried not to devour the whole thing, but my tummy wants what it wants. The bacon-onion jam paired perfectly with the brie and cured egg yolk on top. Hmmm...I suddenly need to make a trip to Chicago.

El Ranchito Restaurant
I've never actually eaten in the restaurant. Instead, I've mainly used the delivery service which is excellent. They have always been extremely prompt, the delivery people have been polite, and the food has always been good. I will say the guacamole is a little inconsistent (great some days, less flavorful others) but that's just the sign of fresh food. The steak tacos are consistently awesome, and the refried beans are just like I used to get in northern Mexico. Excellent food, GREAT delivery hours, and good service make this a great deal and place to eat.

Just a moment...
